Women’s football shit, in fact it’s even worse than shit, I’d rather apply chilli powder to my nuts than watch a single second of it… so yeah, after todays shit show I’m hoping Rory don’t crumble to DeShambles mind games and hoping at least one UTD fan is happy later on this evening
What the feck are you talking about? Misogynist much?

So as a United fan Rory winning a game of golf is better than the woman’s team reaching the FA cup final… okayyyyy.

A point for what though?
League positions are each worth about £2.5m from what I can see. It’s a tight pack of teams. Basically don’t go and play the formation we’re having issues with but with even worse players.

Imagine he does that and gets a result, then what? He's already said he's not for changing & while i don't agree with the inflexibility there's no way hes risking that. The clamour to do it regularly would do for him.
Surely that’s a good problem to have for him? I refuse to believe he’s that stubborn, to deliberately make us worse out of pride.

Did the kit man forget the studs today? half the squad looked like they were playing on ice, slipping all over the place.

As for the game it's no surprise, the table doesn't lie at this stage of the season so it is what it is. No need to do a full analysis, United have been bang average all season and will continue to be until the season ends.

I'm very impressed with the way you were able to type that post, considering that your hands would have been feeling very sore from your knuckles being dragged along the ground. Great to see how you have moved beyond a system of communication consisting of grunts, too. Well done.

It really did look like the 4th playing against the 14th, and man that's just sad.

Almost entirely toothless upfront and mostly with no ideas how to get into Newcastle's box, large parts of the game were spent pressed into United's third of the pitch. Their attackers found way too much room and gaps in the defending, I can't even say that the result is undeserved in the amount of goals they scored even if the last one was gifted to them by Bayindir.

Looked like little boys against men today for the most part. Ugarte has good physicality but gets a nose bleed when passing forwards, the rest are weak. Lindelof is shite as we know. Fair play to Garnacho for the finish, but that’s the exception not the norm. Mount is just a slightly better version of Van de Beek. Dorgu was shite when he came on.
Bayindir isn’t great really.
We played ok for the first 20 but crumpled after that.
We’re screwed against Lyon with Zirkzee out.

I hope in 40 years when Lindelof is sitting around a cosy fire telling his beautiful grandchildren about his professional football career they turn to him and say, "feck off mate, you were fecking shite".

That’s the worst part. Back in the day, a loss would really upset me. Now i just accept it and carry on. Just another day
Yep. I remember every time we lost under Fergie, I felt sorry for whichever team we were playing next.

First bad game for a while. Expected with this squad and since we have nothing to play for in the league it massively affects players. Hopefully we show up on Thursday

You just knew those players would be shitting it when walking back to the dressing room, too. Even if they lost by 1 goal. They would be bracing themselves for the worst if they lost 4-1 as they did today.

This lot don't seem to have the same game-to-game learning embedded. It's the same mistakes in the same positions of the field. They don't seem to understand how bad things actually are.

I have sympathy for Bayindir in this one.
He’s come in under pressure with Onana being under the spotlight and dropped.
Hasn’t played many games and the defence in front of him is under strength, with Lindelof not having played much and pretty useless, plus a teenager (Amass) having his debut.
No Maguire, de Ligt or Martinez.
He made one mistake which ultimately didn’t have any effect on the end result, other than increasing the embarrassing score line.

Sure we need a new keeper, but he should be given the shirt for the rest of the season.

.

I'm struggling to see any other reasons for it though - its completely obvious we don't put up 2 players against that midfield 3, and yet we did it. Last time you can say it was inexperience of the league, but this time there isn't really an excuse for it, other than not wanting to change the system - which like you said in a dead rubber why not? Just seems odd - and thats coming from someone who actually sees the progress Amorim is making and what he's trying to do. I just wish he would be a bit more pragmatic at time, there's no harm unless he's worried about the optics of it.

Didn’t see the game as was away watching my local team Hibs play today. After seeing the result, I’m glad I made the right choice.

Another pitiful performance. How long before Bruno wants out?

Never thought I'd be saying this but losing Zirkzee had an impact on the result. He was our best player which is definately a huge positive to take from the game. Reckon there could be a place for him in a strengthened Amorim line-up.

My biggest gripe is Newcastle were able to push us into making them mistakes and have real control over the game, all whilst having their manager laying in a hospital bed.

That’s the difference between good, athletic and committed players. We still have a lot of rot and a heck of a lot of players who are way off it physically.

For example, If Lindelof left tomorrow no one would notice or care.

What a bizarre statement

Maybe you have a point, you say it’s obvious but then it seemed obvious to most people that Case would never work with Mount and Bruno as 8’s and yet a decorated manager hung his hat on that idea. I wonder if coaches almost try so hard to be different nowadays that they just make weird decisions instead of doing basic stuff (tough game, resting players, go sit back and play for 0-0) + as you say, he’s really gone all in on him being a specialist manager with quite a niche formation so maybe it’s just simply this until we win something or he’s sacked.

Well said.

Does anyone on here honestly believe we’ll still win the Europa? I just can’t see it I’m afraid.

I think

most fans are expecting an exit in penalties on Thursday, I can’t believe one United fan think we will win Europa League we’ve lost three times to the worst spurs side this century this season let that sink in?

The worrying bit now is how we manage to score goals or hold up the ball in the attack.

We are dire going forward and we lost Zirkzee that game.

Horrible defense. Dalot, Lindelof, Mazraoui, Amass, Bayindir-all gifting goals. You just can't account for that and I think Amorim gave up on that game after 3-1 as Eriksen lasted the full 90 and Bruno was subbed. My biggest disappointment is the Zirkzee injury, he is the only player who can hold the ball and will be a huge miss against Lyon.

I've got to say, this place can be amazingly hysterical. Pre-match thread everyone thought we'd lose because we put out a subpar team. Now that we have, the sky is falling. Do people still not realize how weak this team actually is? We're outmatched against every PL side in terms of athleticism, let alone one built specifically for it like Newcastle.

On Thursday though, no excuses. We have to get past Lyon.
It isn’t about the fact that we lost but the nature of the goals we conceded. Bayandir doing what he did was diabolical

That was genuinely a lower mid-table side getting a hiding from a CL team. Terrifying.

The trajectory of both sides has been night and day since we beat them in the league cup final

Perhaps yes. None of us are elite level players, or managers, and we just transfer our own logics and viewpoints to them as if they would be the same. Perhaps the level of success he had a sporting, the acclaim he had for it, has given him such self confidence that he can't see the alternative viewpoints. If so then in a way it could be better for him (not us) to get a reality check from that but it would require some introspection from him to realise it. He's still very young as a manager, maybe it will come.

Either way he's made his bed, it either comes off or it doesn't, but he seems intent to go that way. Hope it works for our sakes as much as his.

Yet another woeful performance especially in the 2nd half, if we play like this on Thursday then Lyon will have a very easy passage to the SF.

He will probably say he was pretty crap but was paid around 40million and played more games than Eric Cantona, Van der sar, Andy Cole and Dwight Yorke.

They’ll all be sitting in houses paid for by United and probably think he’s a bloody legend in fairness.
