The result was a draw. It’s exactly as terrible as a nil all. So the fact we conceded two is irrelevant to whether it’s a good, bad or terrible result.

In my opinion it’s definitely not a good result but it also definitely not terrible in the context of this Forest side having pedigree at being hard to beat under the right manager, a new manager bounce and the identity of their new manager.
"Pedigree at being hard to beat"? By which you mean they were good last year, under a different manager? And remind me, how many times has Sean Dyche coached a team to a top half finish over the past decade? And how did that new manager bounce work out in his first two games? By any reasonable standard, this is a game we should win, or at least fail to win despite dominating it, if we're a serious top 6 contender.

To me "result" includes the score, but happy to call it something else if that helps. It does matter that we allowed two goals.

“Yes, obviously” to your opening two questions. And I don’t know why Dyche needs a top half finish to qualify as a manager who makes teams hard to beat. To be honest, I’m surprised you even think that claim needs any justification. It’s not controversial at all.

As for the result/scoreline stuff. Trying to argue that a 2-2 result is worse than a 0-0 result is ridiculous. A draw’s a draw. If it had finished nil all, no doubt you’d be all up in arms at what an atrocity it was to fail to score against such a terrible team

Anyone who thought we were going to win every game from last week on and play brilliantly was obviously going to be disappointed, I think things are still very much in the balance, Cunha, Mbuemo and Sesko all had relatively quiet games, in many ways thanks to the brilliant performance by Anderson. We will have more games than not like this until we resolve the issue of our midfield, LWB and most importantly squad depth... so MC, BM and BS all having a slow day at the office, who did we have on the bench who could change things up? nobody really, Mount is the one player maybe who offers something a bit different, but other than that we have zero realistic options.

I thought Forrest were the better team for the most part, and probably deserved to win, that said we probably came closer to scoring more that they did, so a draw is probably right, and away from home, new manager bounce, cannot really complain too much, was just a bit disappointed with the way we conceded.

The whole corner/not corner thing pisses me right off though, the camera angle is useless and we are talking the width of a gnats chuff as to whether the ball is fully over the line or not, it is hardly like the ball was clearly in, FFS it is not like corners are not given incorrectly given or not pretty much several times each match, for that reason alone I am so glad we equalised.

We had 2 straight forward corners not given for us towards the end. Who says we don't score from one of those. Agree, mate.

I expected us to lose this one, so a draw is actually a neutral/par result I think.

Could have been top 4 now, if these players had decided to actually show up and do their jobs. Disgraceful performance.

Is this a joke? Think where we were a month or so ago and now you're labelling them a disgrace for not being top four? We would have bitten someone's hand off for the top half after the Brentford game!

People need to get their heads checked if they think a draw at Forest is a disgrace. Where have you been the last 10 years?

Nah, we need Martial, Pogba, Rashford, Sancho, Onana, Garnacho etc to forget their freedom and come back and forgive us if we double their previous pay. This lot are just faking it.

Listen to yourself. In this recent run since the Sunderland win we’ve played Liverpool at Anfield, Brighton at home and Forest away and got 7 points.

In the same fixtures last season we got the grand total of 1 single point and looked way worse in the process.

I'm enjoying the upward curve.

The morale seems to be heading the right way and while we shouldn't have conceded either of the goals - last year we'd have lost this game. We got a bit more fight and belief in us as a group now - which we often take for granted when it's missing.

Unfortunately, fight and spirit get you so far. We need it, absolutely. But Amad defending headers in his own box? Never gunna have a good outcome really. I love Amad, he's a great player but the flaw of playing him is the defending element and teams will benefit from that.

Cunha and Sesko had quiet games, Dalot was Dalot (Rubbish and a complete passenger). A few better decisions and we win > We need to score more goals when we are dominating, a 1-0 lead is never enough, especially away from home.

The problem with Amad and the goal was that he is playing as a wing back, which is a role he is really not suited for. Forest clearly targeted him at the weekend and worked to leave him exposed against a wide player. Ideally one of the CBs helps him out by coming out wider when he is isolated. Also for the goal with have 3 CBs in a line, seemingly zonal with Shaw at the front defending the space. Ideally they each drop a position so that Amad is free to cover the far post and not man marking where he was on the edge of the 6 yard box. Its another reason I don't like 3 CBs and wing backs, you want Amad further up the pitch. But if you are going to play that the CBs need to be more fluid in stepping out to help the wing back and on defending crosses.

As there are barely any gap between about 9 teams we would have had to score loads of goals with no reply to do that. Again we need to ramp up that goal difference.

Ok, so the title challenge has hit a bump in the road, it was expected. Its unfortunate, because had we won we'd have been celebrating being in the top 4. Lets hope we can carry on the good work and keep it together by the end of the season.

Think most people realised there was going to be a reaction from the Forest team, that Dyche would get them organised. Anybody who thought we would just stroll in there and swipe them aside hadn't thought it through properly.

Spot on this > I think Yoro could have shuffled and ideally the CB's will be alert to it but like you say it's more a system issue than anything, it'll keep happening if we play Amad there

Agreed.

The pundits saying it was clearly in and the official was guessing, haven’t said he would be guessing if he called it in. So much controversy over this incident is bonkers.

Not the result we wanted but not that long ago we would have crumbled if a team scored 2 quick goals so the improvement continues and we're in a much better place than we were a month or so ago.

Our lack of depth is a huge weakness. We only have a good starting XI really, with a couple of good options depending on the circumstances (Mount if we're against a possession based team, Maguire for aerial assaults), but in terms of game changers we have nobody, and the drop off in quality from our starters to the backups is really steep.

Having even one forward who could understudy to Mbeumo/Cunha, or a serviceable backup for Sesko, could have made a huge difference against what was a fast tiring Forest defence.

I definitely don't agree that they were better or deserved to win, they did a lot of running but we battled well, definitely matched them on the balance of the game, and only one team was going on to win as Forest had seriously tired after all the effort they'd expended.

What really annoys me is the pundits on MOTD agree with Dyche and says the linesman is too far away on the other side and can't 'guess' ? So what linesmen should stop giving any decisions on the other half of the pitch !? They should have said Dyche (and lots of managers) are absolutely pathetic for complaining about a borderline decision that is a centimetre either way, while ignoring the actual incompetence of his defender falling over the ball like he was staggering out of a bar at 3.00 am, and then leaving Casemiro a completely free header from 6 yards out. They also failed to notice or care about the 2 wrong corner decisions at the end of the second half that went against us and WERE clear cut. Just another reason not to listen to any pundits, they're all cack.

That's "hard to beat" in the sense that they are hard-working and well-organised, so you have to bring the effort. Not in the sense that it is something rarely achieved, since his teams generally finish well down the lower half and hence lose most of their games against good teams. Surprised you need that pointed out, really.

On the score, if you want to piss around on that instead of engaging with the point, suit yourself.
