Good entertaining game. Its rare we get to say that. Especially the first half. Martial had the pick of the goals. Excellent work to get that goal with defenders flying in everywhere.
I said at HT that Rashford really should have scored so it's nice to see him get on the scoresheet in the second half. Absolutely smashed it in too. Nice for Greenwood to score again too.
But frustrating to not take off some key players at half time or early in the second half. We were winning comfortably and we didn't need to risk more injuries. In the end we have a few look a bit shook. Maguire and obviously McTominay who came off injured in the end. They even took off Fred before McTominay ffs. I know who I'd rather be protecting.

Good result , good performance. This tournament is our best chance to play CL next season.

Very easy win. Got the score correct but we should have scored more.

First half thoroughly enjoyable, lots of attacking football, loads of chances, could have been 5 or 6 up by half-time.

After Rashford's goal we became less adventurous and a bit sloppy.

As the substitutes came on we got gradually worse with the final waste of space who can't even make an attempt to make some impression.

The team that started played well. MoM Martial, Rashford should have kept his cool better and should have had a hat-trick.

Good first half, poor second.

Rojo looks good when he is not under pressure.
Really sloppy performance from a lot players second half. Loads of mistakes from Young, Fred, Mata, Periera, Rashford.
Still easiest win so far this season, would have liked to see a few more youngsters. Maybe a debut for Ramazani or Levitt?

I do not understand why Ashley Young keeps getting 90 minutes game in, game out. It's a good day for him when he's just mediocre instead of being an active hindrance. Brandon Williams has looked impressive every time he has played, and I understand Ole wants to protect the lad but for feck's sake you have to give him games EVENTUALLY if you want him to develop.
Young is suspended for the next PL game so Brandon is going to start and play the full 90 against Brighton on Sunday. With Shaw still not match ready it made sense not to risk Brandon tonight and possibly end up with no available Left Back for the league game. If Young had not been suspended for the next game I expect Brandon would have started tonight.

To highlight how much United eased off once 3-0 ahead.

1st half
2 goals
10 shots on goal
4 shots on target

2nd half
1 goal
4 shots on goal
3 shots on target

Enjoyable game of football, three very good goals and could have scored a lot more in 1st half, second half became a bit stale but job done.

Great first half and I can understand taking the foot off the pedal for the second half but we seem to get sloppy when we slow it down. Good result though. Time to start getting results in the Prem.

It’s a painful place the Caf. You are simply not allowed to enjoy anything or point out any positive. Listen tonight was a good performance against poor opposition.

We still had a very good tempo and great link up play in the final third.

Regardless of opposition you have to take it as a positive and appreciate the intent and application from a young team.

Some ‘fans’ need to get a feckin grip. Enjoy the positive results a little.

First half was a nice watch. Second half was back to the usual. Partizan really weren’t great let’s be fair. This was not some European giant playing tonight. They were actually worse than Astana which is quite something.

It’s paper over cracks. Has to do it on the weekend though against a much better opponent.

Obvious things from tonight
Rashford and martial scorers of great goals not great goalscorers
Mata 10 times the player Periera is
Greenwood ... get a forward in short term but this guy will be our CF for years to come
Let’s give Ole credit for sorting the defence out

Good game to watch which is a real
rarity these days and might be good few weeks I film there is another one.

Opposition were poor but could and should have score more goals, they gave us space and had no pace at the back so ideal opposition for us.

Understandable drop off in the second half with an important game coming up on Sunday but a great first half. Rojo was surprisingly good, Maguire a bit mixed and the full backs pushed up really far at times.

Slight criticism that maybe McTominay should have come off instead of Fred? Too harsh maybe but we all know who is the more important player of the two at the moment.

good win and first half performance. there were a few moments when we got into the final 3rd second half and could have pushed and passed forward but instead stopped and went backwards, which is fine if we weren't doing that consistently in games when not winning, it would have been good for us to push forward more and get into good habits.
hope we can do the first half football more regularly in the league now.

Throw away match really, it should be a given that we beat teams like partizan by 3 or 4 goals with ease and that's with a 2nd side let alone what we had out there today which was about as strong as we could play.

I dont quite get the purpose of field such a strong side, we sure as hell ain't winning the Europa league under Solskjear considering the possibility of teams like Dortmund, inter Milan, red bull salzburg and Valencia dropping down into the competition from the champions league.

The idea of fielding the strongest side is very understandable. The result tonight is not the important factor in beating Partizan. It is for Sunday. Now we must play positively on Sunday but I am still worried about the easy way Partizan cut through the midfield. I think with Young not playing it may be better on Sunday. But we need to take our chances and we missed more tonight than we scored.
I am puzzled by the fact that Lingard gets to play while players like Gomes doesn't. Lingard should not be near the squad either. I thought Mata was the worst when trying to defend. Lingard is worse. He always jogs behind the opposing player when trying to get the ball. At least Mata goes at full speed and if he cannot he tries to foul the player and stop him. With Lingard it is just escorting the opposing player.

Good performance.

- interchange between attacking players in the first half was impressive
- composed finish from Greenwood
- Rashford a threat, super finish for his goal but could have done better with earlier chances
- 3 horrible passes straight to a Partizan player in our half, got us in trouble (Maguire twice, Fred once)
- restricted Partizan, even after centre midfield substituted
- Martial and Rojo impressive

Played really well, fast, attacking one touch football in the first half, inevitable drop off in the 2nd but job done, happy with the result, happy with the performance, what happens on Sunday is anyone’s guess.

Greenwood my MOTM, assured and while the Van Persie comments are a little premature I totally get them, big shout for Rashford too.

Good win, lets beat Brighton well now. It was said in the first half that "United should be 2-0 up" because Rashford had missed two chances. This type of thing is often said, they forget or ignore that if he takes the firsr chance it's a different game cos they kick off from the centre circle, not the penalty area. Maybe a bit pedantic, it just amuses me that they say it.

3-0, result never in doubt. No injuries. A fine European night and a cracking goal by Martial. What’s not to like.
Reckon McTominay did his hammy ...

I know he was walking at the end but I think it was one of those quick-movement ones, done those myself this year.... could be out 2-3 weeks if that's the case.

Shite news if I'm right, there's no way he'll play at the weekend.

Can take months. Still remember Giggs' hamstrings issue.

There's nothing that indicates Mctominay did his hamstring.

This match showed how important it is to have a player like Mata around the box. Not on the wing, around the box. His constant movement and quick passing kept our game flowing.

Mata himself isn't doing much besides close to the opposition box so in a game like Partizan he's great but against stronger oppositions he struggles. We don't have anyone like him though and no other striker either. Plenty of recruitment needed.

That was a very good attacking performance, so we can do it.... let's see if the appetite to continue like that is there in bigger matches, on McTominay's injury, defo strained ankle ligaments how bad you don't know until he gets a scan.

Other than that, decent performance. First half was dynamite and it could've been 5-0 at the half, Rashford and Martial looked great and Greenwood threatened too. Took our foot off the gas pedal for the second half, and then the inevitable arrival of the likes of Lingard killed off the rest of United's attacking threat. I really really REALLY hope McTominay didn't mess up his ankle too bad because if he's out, United are well and truly fecked.
Because he is the only fit senior left back, and he is suspended vs Brighton. So giving Williams 90min here and vs Brighton would be a stupid risk
