3 points are exactly what the performance deserved. Great spirit shown to come back from two down too, the lads could really have felt hard done by the manner of conceding.

60 wasted minutes... but 30 minutes were enough... Ole has to go, this team has so much potential, but has to be coached.....

You’ll get the nobheads saying this thread was a disgrace but most people said we’d been unlucky, played some great stuff and could pull it back if we played like we did in the first 20...and we did and it’ll do the players so much good.

We easily deserved to win that, 3-2 is hugely flattering to Southampton. We were grossly unlucky to be 2-0 in the first half. We’ve missed having a proper striker for some long.

That second half team is our strongest IMO, maybe swapping Rashford for Martial.

Good comeback, bruno influential again. I remembers when fan on here was complaining about our transfer business. Cavani seems like a great addition so far. Woodward and our transfer committee deserve credit.

I honestly don’t think we were that bad in the first half.

The first corner was genuinely superb and the free kick should have been avoided completely.

The sort of game where you take the three points and scarper.

Fully deserved and great changes by Ole

Wondered if we had it in us to make the comeback, 3-2 really flattered Southampton their only threat was Ward-Prowse set pieces.

Cavani is still worldclass.

We only have 2 worldclass players in our squad, Bruno and Cavani.

Reminiscent of Fergie's last season with the 3-2 win. Deserved win and the introduction of Cavani really changed the game.

Been a big fan of Martial for a long time. But Cavani has earned the right to start now.

Well, I asked to see what we were made of. Bags of character was the answer today. Mighty well done lads. We deserved to win that game. And lovely club record to go with it too! Hats off Cavani, pity you wear the wrong number.

I think the diamond worked tbh.

We created enough chances to score even more, and looked solid except for set pieces.

We're not half bad going forward, a pity we're leaky *AF* at the back!

Great comeback :D

Strange first half. Southampton didn’t create anything from open play but went in 2-0 up after Greenwood was unusually wasteful. That said we weren’t exactly very good either.

Cavani looks like he’s up to speed fitness wise now. Both of his goals were the kind of goals Martial and Rashford just don’t score. They don’t have his instincts to make those movements and get those goals. I mentioned it in the match day thread, the need for someone to make near post runs.

What a win! Cavani, if possible needs to start more games, that was a proper centre forwards performance, our younger strikers need to take note. Didn’t think we were great but didn’t deserve to go in at the break 2 down, we kept plucking away at it though and got what our effort deserved in the end.

It has come at a cost though, both Telles and Shaw are out now. Maybe De Gea but this should give Henderson a chance now.

OK! Good!

Piece by piece, i hope Ole sees what players he can rely on, and assemble a team that can sustain this kind of tenacity from the second half.

We have the back 4. Check.

Fred. Bruno. VDB. That's the sure 3 in the middle.

Cavani up top.

Now just fill out the gaps. 2 great goalkeepers to choose from. Pick a 4th mid and a forward.

Terrible first half. A bit slog overall, for about an hour a boring watch unless you're an opposition fan wanting to see us lose. Then we finished strong after Fernandes' goal just before the hour and we were actually impressive in terms of our will to win and Cavani's sub performance after that. We deserved the 3 points but for almost an hour we didn't look like a good team at all.

Beautiful turnaround! Win our game in hand now and we're only 3 points behind Liverpool.

Satisfying to beat those dirty Soton players, particularly Romeu.

Love a good comeback! It's so nice to have a proper 9.

It felt like one of those days but man the players did well. Good job.

How on earth Ward-Prowse stayed on the pitch is beyond me though.

So many posters can feck right off.
Exactly this. Posters saying players are shit, manager needs to be sacked etc when watching a game we are clearly dominating are the worst type of "fans", expect a player to score everyone they get the ball or to never misplace pass etc. Really irks me.

Start him. every game.

Could have well been one of those days, what a great bit of character to win that. Thoroughly enjoyable.
