Extremely strong end of season dead rubber vibes to that game. At least we got a clean sheet.

Amazing how many people don't realise this.

We have nothing to play for, they actually do have something to play for so of course they were up for it. All things considered you take the point and move on.

Wow, dont recall any moments of 'football' from us today. Maybe they were out celebrating qualification this week on the sauce

First 0-0 of the season. Some big chances to grab the winner late on but were rubbish before that and had the post and Lammens to thank for drawing.

Technical level of the team is horrendous. I'd love to see a compilation of the possession losses today just to make me laugh.

Well that was quite shit. Nothing more than a glorified friendly.

At least we came away a clean sheet.

We play like a team with nothing to play for. Please sell Zirkzee

What we learned

1. Zirkzee is useless and must go
2. We cannot play UCL and EPL + 2 cups with ONE, young striker and Mbeumo out of position. If Wilcox thinks he can afford to not sign a striker, he is even dumber than we thought
3. Similarly we need 5-6 new players. We do not have squad to play multiple times a week.
4. Most disappointing: Carrick has no balls. He didn't use any youngsters even in a match that is mostly meaningless

Rest of the squad got a start and showed why they shouldn’t be starting and we should looking to sell/loan them

Zero intensity, horrible weather, ref probably given instructions to ignore utd. management asleep. sort of game in which manager should make himself standout with his tactics.

Limped our way to a point. Players lacked the urgency since CL is secured. Missing players and the conditions didn't help either. And refs had to get another bad call just to top it off. Needs to be a far better performance in our last home game.

It's a point away from home against another game raising shithouse team.

Pretty sure making us watch that is a breach of the Geneva Conventions.

Shows exactly what we need recruitment wise.

Need to hang on to Cas if it’s at all still possible. Need the characters here

Generally atrocious performance, although much better after the changes.

Scratch line up, with only one fit midfielder, somewhat to be expected. Not bothered to be honest. Grinding out a draw and clean sheet is a decent enough return for what we put on the field today.

Average performance under Carrick minus Case's headed goal.

Pretty much this. It's being spun as if we're already on the beach, but Sunderland are just the latest in a run of teams that we've made look excellent.

Dead game, awful performance for pretty much 90% of it.

Though hopefully it put on display how important it is we reinforce this summer, particularly in the midfield, and possibly upfront too. Without Casemiro and even Sesko we looked lost today.

Also I'm not at all convinced by Carrick. I really, really hope we're at least interviewing or planning to interview other coaches. Feels like we're doomed to repeat the Ole saga.

Cunha as striker and Dorgu left wing improved us. Zirkzee lasted 62 mins and you'd hope that's his United career done

Dreadful, but an eye opener on how bad our midfield is without Casemiro. Hopefully it will spring us into action to get some quality in and never have to endure Mount playing there again.

Turgid dull performance blighted by weak arrogant players who are better at whinging than playing football

Zero style of play from Carrick.

Watching a stream on Irish TV and I’m not sure who the cockney prick of a co-commentator was but I’ve never heard so much ABU shite in all my life.

Erm what? We scrapped with them... You can say we had very little quality sure, but you can't fault the work rate or effort today
It is just the easy lazy thing to say, rather than deal with the fact we are not that good.

It’s effectively season over anyway so I expect the players aren’t that tuned in, but in a lot of ways watching that match was as painful as a lot of the losses this season have been

Zirkzee needs to not ever play for us again

Poor but meh, completely unbalanced team and I can't say I'm surprised with our lack of intensity in a game that doesn't matter considering it's been a problem in games that do matter for some time.

Awful performance. In line with West Ham, Newcastle and Leeds. The common denominator in all those games being that we didn't match the opposition's intensity at all. Just let them run all over us and win the 50-50s.

I guess most of this comes down to our crap to non-existent midfield, but we need to use our fullbacks more as well. Both Mazraoui and Shaw barely ever got involved in our attacks.

At least we didn't lose.

Horrendous performance, lucky to get a point. If we learnt anything from this game, it's that we need at least 7 new signings to finish top 4 again next season. And if Bruno gets injured, we may be lucky to finish top half, the quality is really that bad!

Didn’t see the game, but by following it I can see that it was one of worse performances. It was a rubbish team put out with Mount and Zirkzee starting, so I’m not surprised we struggled. Carrick could have changed it sooner with Dorgu and Mbuemo but looking at the bench, unless we wanted to put defenders on, there wasn’t much there either. It just seems like the squad got exposed to how thin it really is and how much recruitment we have to do, especially in midfield.

I imagine with Forest next week, we will up our game for the last home match with Casemiro back hopefully.

It was definitely the performance of a rotated side. The players coming in didn’t quite look up to speed, and as a result it took us a while to get going. There were signs of improvement in the second half, but overall there was very little real goal threat. Ironically, we looked most dangerous in added time but just couldn’t make it count.

Today also highlighted the need for more depth in midfield and at centre-forward.

That said, it’s not the worst result in the world. Sunderland were always going to be up for this one.

If Cunha didn't have that shot saved in the 93rd minute it would've been the first league match for 11 years in which we didn't have a shot on target. Really poor.
