United are off the mark in Group B of the Champions League.

A very, very hard fought victory and a crucial one. Wolfsburg played very well, the best team to come to Old Trafford this season.

Smalling's second-half goal decided it, but United were on the ropes for the last 25 minutes and can consider themselves lucky to get the three points.

CSKA Moscow's 3:2 win over PSV means all three teams are on three points. Everything to play for.

Mata and Smalling tied for motm.

Nervy stuff at the end, but we got the three points which is what matters.

Good first half, after their goal. Poor second, after ours.

Mata, Martial and Smalling were good. Rooney was dire.

Deserved win but we pulled back way too much after taking the lead. The amount of chances we created in the first half was ridiculous, but thankfully we got the win. Mata was brilliant, as was Smalling in the second half. The others mostly decent, a few good like Schweinsteiger and Martial and a few poor like Schneiderlin and Valencia. Darmian was class as well.

We looked fecked in the last half hour; it was anti LVG football. Hopefully it was more psychological rather than physical as we have a big month coming up.

Schneiderlin was dreadful that second halve. Lucky not to get send off...

Worried about fatigue. Some of the players looked tired.

Sunday could be quite difficult.

We played brilliantly at times but fell to pieces for the last twenty odd minutes or so.

I'm a huge Rooney fan but i'm starting to think that his time as a top top player may be over.

Really hated that last 20 minutes or so. Just lost complete control until the end.

Schneiderlin was just awful in that 2nd half.

Interesting stat from that match:

If you add up all of our players' shirt numbers, double that number, then add 3; then you equal the amount of times the ref blew against us tonight.

Smalling Mata and Darmian all excellent. Three points is all that counts here.

Dominated first half should of been 3 up at least. Second half started alright and ended awful, were on the back foot for most of it although Wolfsburg still didn't really look like scoring.

Rooney again was shocking, he needs to be dropped.

3 points!

Just very crucial 3 points, and Rooney broke his own record of shity performance. Smalling, BFS, Martial, Darmian did well

Great performance until we went ahead; bit worried about how knackered we looked towards the end.

Glad we won the 3 points

Baffling subs by lvg put us under ridiculous pressure

I'm completely finished with that pathetic excuse of a lump we have in Rooney, he's finished at top level football and he needs to feck off to America with all the other has beens.

Good win, tough game and showing we can come from behind. Happy, even if it wasn't all roses. Three points was that mattered ultimately- look at Arse.

Good win!

Very good 1st half.

The last 30 or so minutes were awful. The subs weren't good and we completely lost control of the game and invited Wolfsburg to attack us. Gotta do a better job of killing the game.

Excellent 60mins. Horrible last 30. Much needed 3 points so it's fine.

Ref ruined what could've been a great game. 3 points and we were great in the first half.

We completely dominated them after conceding the early goal and should have been 3-1 up at half time. After taking a 2-1 lead we forgot how to pass the ball for the last half hour. The referee didn't help by booking most of our players for making any kind of challenge.

Good 1st half performance. We were hanging on in the 2nd half but the team showed bravery and some guts and saw it out. Great result!

Mata, Smalling and Darmian brilliant. Schweiderlin not that great, especially the lin part of that. Depay awful with Rooney somehow even worse.

Tense, but we deserved the win. Big 3 points and now the group is all tied up.

Smalling was fantastic. Martial is so exciting. Mata was great. Young is an awesome squad player to have.
Schneiderlin was a bit off. Memphis was off.

We go again at Arsenal.

Edit: That fecking ref was awful.

We did very well to hold on. Tonight you could tell that we're stretched a little thin if and when the injuries hit. Having another defender on the bench to replace Valencia, and Carrick to come into midfield would have been ideal.

The first 60 minutes was as good as we've played all season, however.

The referee was an absolute disgrace. Shambolic performance.

We need to stop sitting back with a one-goal lead and go for the kill. We played with fire in the last 20 minutes.

Good game mostly. We need to have one of Schweinsteiger or Carrick on the pitch at all times.
