Post-season matches in Asia

Very good. I can't wait to see this on every sports outlet for the next few days just like the last match!

Aye, don’t want to write the kid off yet but the fact we looked to bring in an attacking LWB to fit Amorims system and chose to sign a player that looks horrible going forward doesn’t fill me with much confidence.
He's technically supposed to be an attacking player, and while the Asian games hold no real importance, his lack of ability even in comparison to the opposition is worrying. I just hope he's still a bit "deer in headlights" and after a break and a pre-season, he'll settle

I get Malacia vibes from him.

Good for you enjoy the game.
Thanks and we did. Great way to end the season on a positive note.

I know it was a meaningless game but there are signs that we have a really talented bunch of players ready to make the step up.

Chido looked so much more of a threat than Hoijland. And Heaven is class each time I watch him.

I even thought Mount played well for a spell. Seemed to be pulling the strings in Bruno’s absence.

Forgot all about this game only seeing the result now. Defining Education Challenge Cup winners get In! from small acorns do mighty oaks grow.

Heaton didn't exactly cover himself in glory for the HK goal - we don't seem to have a keeper who can stop the ball at the club...

Happy with the second half. Happy for Obi and Heaven. Battered them all game really, but the usual weaknesses were evident. Mount and Amad and Mainoo did fine.

I suspect that's the last time we will see quite a few of those players. This is going to be one long, strange and probably frustrating summer, but hey, at least 2024-25 is over.

How did the the youngsters do? I understand Chido did well but any other standouts?

Are we doing this because of adidas shafting us due to no Europe / CL again ?

Saw the game from behind the goals - all the goals came from my end, so it was a bit difficult seeing United’s attack from the first half - but seas most in the second.

Pre season game or not - Hojlunds first touch and movements are shocking. Obi has great close control and is calm with the ball.

It is obvious that most of the first teamers couldn’t be bothered (bar like Mount and Evans) but the youngsters did try at least

I like what i see from Kone, shows good balance and some aggression and urgency in his play. Still a year or two away from competing for a spot in the first team.

By the same token that you cannot read much into this game, as in the first game, what ee can take from this is that there are some decent youngsters coming through. The youngsters did more for their reputation then the older players. Obi, of course with 2 goals, but Heaven once again looks a proper player. We really really need a decent goalkeeper. I would play Vitek in the pre-season. I think Mainoo looked good as did Mount. I know the opposition wasn't much but, if that was the case, then Cas, Hojlund and Bruno should have been unplayable

6 week long open cruise ship parade tour around the entire Asian continent
I wouldn't be surprised if the owners made the players travel home by boat, to save a few quid. Get back just in time for the new season.

Unfortunately that's not the case. Every season (during pre-season games for exemple), you can see youngsters (in every club, not only for United) that seem to look good enough to play with the A team only to realize a couple of weeks later that it's just the usual starters that didn't bother and made the youngsters look good because of their attitude.
