I agree, a hugely underwhelming, underperformance and anticlimactic window. Not as good of a midfield overhaul as was originally expected before the window opened.
No left back, centre back, left winger or striker.
4/10 might be generous considering expectations in May/June.

While we do need a left back. Do you not think other teams are pissing away money like we did for years? We seem a bit more calm with our transfers/ players are more or less used to playing with each other. Our transfers have been good this and last summer, just could have done with a couple more.
I'm pretty calm overall, just disappointed that this wasn't as good a window as I hoped for. Decent midfield rebuild and covered our one big gap which is passing from deep. We still have Bruno who is absolutely WC and at the peak of his game. We have guys like Cunha, Mbeumo and even Rashford and Amad who can change a game in one moment. Mainoo is my favorite player at the club and probably a 100m+ midfielder already. So we have the weapons to hurt anyone on our day.
It's just that overall it has many glaring gaps as well as positives and despite the money spent (500m+ over the past few years), I wouldn't really say this gets us anywhere near the title. Overall, should be good for a 65 point-ish finish (+/- 10 points based on luck and injuries).
If we can get a target man done to rotate with Sesko (I'd even take a Weghorst level player) and get a backup LB in I'd be a bit more comfortable.

Get an elite LCB. Licha won't cut it anymore. We got passing from deep already thanks to our mids, so someone reasonably comfortable on the ball would've been enough.
Get a 1v1 specialist on the LW. Ideally Rashford should've left and we should've replaced him with an Ndiaye on LW
Get a starting LB.
Sell ZZ and get a Mateta / Jimenez type guy to rotate with Sesko.

I think we've done well this transfer window. The middle of the park has finally been addressed and I am delighted about that.

Surprised and a little concerned we didn't get a LB as we look pretty short in that position, but talk of this being a "terrible" window is nuts, some if you need to get a grip. Its pretty clear we are not cash-rich right now and I think not recklessly spending is wise given our history, but also that of other teams. Liverpool spent huge amounts last season and were praised for their signings; that hasn't gone so well. Spurs have done the same this summer and it doesnt seem to be helping them either. Was it a perfect or even great window? God no. Was it a bad one? For me, also no.

You need to define 'recklessly' spending. Tightening the strings to some degree is sensible, but missing out on your main targets for £10m or so is stupid and missing out on a gettable long term LB who is much younger and currently better than your aging 'due a lengthy spell out' Luke Shaw, is not acceptable. If we were not so incompetent at selling players for anything more than paltry single figure millions, we would have found the extra couch change.
Any scenario where an old, washed, injury prone Luke Shaw is your only left back going into a season - that's a bad summer.
We're not asking for £500m investment in the squad here where we overhaul the entire first 11, we are not asking for wreckless spending. For example most are unhappy with our right backs and centre backs but most fans have accepted those will have to wait till next summer due to budget constraints, we at least have the quantity of players in those areas to get by.
Our net spend is less than £100m as things stand - we're operating on a lower budget than Coventry and Ipswich. The absolute musts coming into the window was 3 midfielders and a starting quality left back, and unless we pull off a deadline day miracle they've failed to deliver the minimum.

The club is definetly see Mazraoui as Shaw's cover with Yoro as an option to cover the right back. Therefore, the club decided not to sign new left back and wait for next year to sign Lewis Hall. But I have a feeling we will sign a different left back next year because I think Newcastle asking price will be too much for the board to proceed.

And if we don't make any signings of absolute dross on big money that will be impossible to sell and difficult even to loan out before the end of their contracts, then that is also an improvement on most of the last 12 or so summer windows.

I think we are this frustrated because nobody believes these savings will go into the club, but if I had confidence we would finally start paying down the debt I would be less aggrieved.

Typical United leadership. The second we qualify for the CL we lose all ambition. Said it the other day, but we are an unserious club. One injury to Shaw or Sesko and our season is fecked.
