Mods - Can we add a poll ?

How, exactly? No denying City and Liverpool are comprehensively stronger, and Chelsea have improved their side massively — but who below us is going to do so much better than last season to make 4th look like a “big, big ask”?Fourth is looking like a big, big ask right now.
What a load of drivvle. We were hovering between eighth and tenth for a portion last season after Pogba and Martial were out with injury. Our second half blitz and inconsistency, poor form and injuries meant we caught Leicester and Chelsea.
Its impossible to complete a season without injuries and Shaw and to a lesser extent Pogba and Martial are kind of injury prone.
My sad but probable guess is 6th.
Our depth is still dreadful, and competing across all fronts is going to hurt.
It really isntFourth is looking like a big, big ask right now.
Arteta has now got a grip on his Arsenal side and has instilled confidence in them, as well as making one or two good squad signings. I think they'll have a good season ending somewhere between 4th and 6th......we`re 100% not getting top 4 we wont finish above Chelsea, City or Liverpool and one of Arsenal and Spurs will knock us out of top 4 the latter 2 will be stronger this season than last season Arsenal are flying high on confidence after winning 2 back to back trophies and will add at least 2 more buys and Spurs have made really good additions plus Jose in his 2nd seasons naturally does well
You won't get many people agreeing with this on the Caf, but I think it's spot on.Even with Sancho I think 4th will be a struggle, without him it's an EL spot.
See above.cant see us doing anything to be honest!
midfield looks stronger than last year but everybody is spending and strengthening.
our bosses obviously think we are better than we really are.
im not convinced
I mean, look, I expect us to finish 4th but it's not out of the question that we'll slide down the table. We finished 4th in 2015, added a shitload of players in the summer and then finished 5th, playing terrible football for most of the season. Or we finished second in 2018, signed a couple of players, didn't lose anyone significant and ended up 6th the next season.Seriously, what is wrong with people in here, 5th 6th 7th??? Have people forgotten the league table since arrival of Bruno? Do people really expect Leicester, spurs etc to finish ahead of us? Based on what exactly?
Some seriously spolit kids in here, most of these predictions are due to pool signing Thiago, and Spurs signing madrid s third choice left back. Pool were likely to finish ahead of us anyway but that doesnt push us further down the table. Go and support someone else you pessimistic c*$ts.
So you are saying every other team that has invested in their team should have a leeway to fail but the manager who has his hands tied behind his back like Jose was is the one who should be sacked if he doesn`t perform? Double standards much? The Glazers are the ones we should fully blame if we have a bad season not Ole embarassing that you are completely absolving them of any blame when they are the ones who have fecked us over there are clear holes in our starting 11 and we`ve addressed ZERO of them while everyone has gotten stronger this is practically asking someone to win a gun fight with a stick and don`t underestimate Arsenal and Spurs the former will make at least 2 buys are high on confidence after winning 2 trophies back to back with a manager that has a good grip on them and the latter have also made good signings and have a manager who whilst past his best always does well in his second seasonsThis team with MMM, world class midfielder and one of the best defensive unit in Europe came on top of the league post lockdown. This team has improved with DVDB and with added experience to their individual game and chemistry. Anything below third is a failure and Ole should be sacked as a result. If we get Sancho, no doubt that we should be challenging for the league. Not to say that this current squad isn’t incapable if we manage to keep the first 11 fit most of the season.
The only hinderance to us getting top four is if we suffer unimaginable injuries to the team and Ole luck runs out. Else, I m more than confident that this team is good enough for top four. The only top 5/6 team that significantly improved from last season is Chelsea, but they omitted investment in a key area which will hurt them this season.
Where is the hole in our starting 11? The only weakness we have is in ‘Quality’ squad depth and that is only in right attack, maybe lb, maybe cdm and striker. The glazers, Woodward and the board has made significant investment since Ole has been in charge. You can’t expect us to spend over £100m each season. It is time for result and Ole failed that test last season without a trophy and just a third place finish. Even the likes of Mourinho, Moyes, and Van Gaal won something and they were still axed. This season is make or break for Ole. We should not lower our standards for Ole especially when our football has not been captivating enough to give him leeway in the trophy expectations. So you are saying every other team that has invested in their team should have a leeway to fail but the manager who has his hands tied behind his back like Jose was is the one who should be sacked if he doesn`t perform? Double standards much? Plus whilst our team played really well post lockdown can you really look at this team and say we look formidable and tactically astute like Liverpool 17/18 or most of our good performances were down to luck and individual brilliance? We`ve been bang average since Southampton and luck/individual brilliance without depth won`t get you through 4 major competitions without a serious downturn in results somewhere especially with CL footy meaning little room to rotate heavily with the 5 subs rule out and games still coming thick and fast. Our attacking bench options are not even better than Wolves/West Ham ffs and we`re meant to compete on all fronts. Only way we get even top 4 is if we completely give up the cup competitions and focus heavily on the PL as unless you can offer coke directly from El Chapo that will give our players some serious juice and energy you`re expectations on where Utd will be this season are a bit too high
Yep. Completely agree. Makes me sad to admit it, mind you.5-7th.
a couple of injuries to key players and we are done.
