I'm already picturing a dragged out transfer, lots of updates about details remaining, then 'no announcement this Friday but possibly early next week'. Followed by multiple delays before it's eventually announced on Weds/Thurs that next week.

Before… we sign an entirely different player in an different position and it turns out we were never interested in the original player and it was just that player’s agent using us to drum up interest in their client after we were offered the player and decline earlier in the window.

They always sign someone when my brother and fellow red is on holiday. Happens every year without fail. He's gone from July 23rd until August 3rd. So it'll be within that. July 27th.
Also i don't know if it just feels that way or is that way, but we always seem to be the last major club to make a signing.

There is a significant difference between a youngster and someone expected to be a regular week in week out starter.
I hope it won't be but it could very well be ETH on 01/07/24.
If we fail to secure at least one significant signing before the end of June, it would certainly raise concerns for me.
I was about to say the same. Not expecting any business until late July at least.
There is almost zero chance we get any transfers done in June I think. We need time to assess the squad, look at options etc., we have only recently confirmed our coach for next season.

I understand your point, but INEOS must address the issue of delays and avoid making last-minute signings to allow for better team chemistry building during pre-season.
