Now that the quarters are settled, how will the rest of the tournament play out?

IMO this is England's best ever chance at winning the whole thing and they won't get another chance this good in a long time. That's why I think this may finally be their year.

England vs France final

France should win that but have a feeling England might pull it off

Why does this narrative always happen for England during tournaments?

Think the winner of Framce and Spain should win this.

Looking forward to the Argentina vs Switzerland game. This is Argentina's most difficult opponent so far, and they have looked very shaky, especially in defense.

QF:
France
2 - 1 Morocco
Spain 1 - 2 Belgium
Norway 2 - 2 (2-3 AET) England
Argentina
1 - 1 (2-1 AET) Switzerland

SF:
France
2 - 0 Belgium
England 2 - 2 (6-5 AP) Argentina

Final:
France 0 - 8 England

Spain hasn't convinced me in any one game. Also only seems to be able to play one way, think they'd be very vulnerable if they fall behind so hopefully we'll find out. I'm also hoping Morocco sends France home but without Saibiri it looks like too much to overcome, although I hope they take a lesson from how Paraguay contained them (albeit to a lesser extent).

The Argentina game will be a borefest, and Norway - England the most entertaining and hard-fought game out of them all imo.

It's the hopium that kills you.

8-1...Pickford gifts one.

For the last 6 world cups, the team that beats the team that knocked Japan out has won the world cup.

So Norway will win.

The winner of France vs Spain wins the World Cup. They're both miles ahead of everyone else. My gut instinct is Spain might control the match over France and pass them to death and sneak through. But it's a very close one. Can't see any scenario where another teams wins it.

I'm not getting it with Spain. They just about beat Portugal, who were basically playing with 10 men all game.

But then again, they haven't conceded a goal so there's that.

But without Williams, they look a little predictable. Pass pass pass, get it to Yamal and hope he does something. I hope France slap them, they're so boring.

Every Spain game I've seen they were extremely mediocre. I think we beat them on friday.

Nothing certain in any match at this stage but I would lean towards France vs Spain, England vs Argentina semis, and maybe a France vs England final... and a France win.

This is based on nothing at all.

Drew against Cabo Verde whilst barely threatening, just about beat an awful Uruguay team, just about beat Portugal playing with 10 with Martinez at the helm, and Austria is also a very average side. The best thing about them is they haven't conceded a goal, but they play a boring and predictable brand of football and haven't faced top attacking teams so far. If we don't do them on the counter attack, France most definitely will. Their best chance is scraping a boring win against us and hoping Morocco puts France out.

Yamal hasn't done anything, Williams is out and those are their only two "jokers" so to speak. They play the classic Spain style of football but without the genius of times past so far like when they had the Xavi and Iniesta midfield (or the Villa/Torres quality of finishers up front as well).

To all the people who are wondering why I'm bigging up Spain, I think they're the only team who have genuinely been in control in every match. They're not very exciting to watch. To say they haven't been tested isn't an argument when you look at how France or England have arrived to where they are.

While all the other big players have been brilliant, I don't feel Yamal has got going yet. if he does, and Williams gets fit, they'll be hard to beat. Let's not forget they are the European Champions. I certainly can't see Belgium beating them.

Not sure what you're seeing in Spain to be honest.

QF:
France 2-0 Morocco Comfy cruise through
Spain 1-0 Belgium Dire game, passed to oblivion but narrow win
Norway 1-2 England Haaland a handful, but we see it through
Argentina 1-0 Switzerland Another clear agenda to see Messi win it, dodgy pen, var controversy etc

SF:
France 2-0 Spain France attacking options too much
England 1-2 Argentina Another clear agenda to see Messi win it, dodgy pen, var controversy etc

Final:
France 1-2 Argentina France well on top, but Messi...etc etc
