He is, because Crystal Palace want £100m for him. He's not worth that and at that price he would also start every game. And while I don't agree, that Mainoo and him couldn't work together in the right system, I think that midfield would get run through quite a bit. A problem we already had with Casemiro to a degree and a primary issue we need any new signings to fix.

Martial was not cheap at all, he was massively expensive

What world do people live in?

How is Tchouameni favorite to join us? The only reason he will is if Madrid think he’s washed up and ready to kick out and he’s not.

He will not be joining United.
 
If we could Tchouameni, Kees Smit and Sander Berge would be my semi-realistic preferred 3 midfielders we bring in at this point - 9/10 window

Tchouameni, Guimaraes, Nathan De Cat would be my dream scenario though. I think Guimaraes and Tchou would catapult is right into contention domestically - 10/10 window

Another 10/10 would be Guimaraes, Sander Berge and Bouaddi.

I'm not sold on Ederson but I'm willing to be proven wrong if we do complete his transfer. Tchouameni, Ederson and Santos wouldn't be terrible but probably a 7/10 window

If we can't get Tchouameni or Guimaraes then the midfield rebuild looks troublesome due to the lack of experienced, available options...

Looks like this might be happening.

Ederson and Santos are done and the Athletic have confirmed we hope to sign two more midfielders.

They want to buy Enzo and need to sell either Camavinga or Tchouameni. Also had a long standing interest in Bouadi.

Well we can definitely write Tchouameni off the list now :lol:

It’s been really interesting so far for Utd.

We keep hearing this one is a top target then we get ‘outbid’ Anderson, Touchameni, Fernandez have all been ‘priority signing’ or ‘top target’.

Nothing in the media about Santos or Tielemans until the deals virtually done.

Utd ignoring the noise and quietly getting on with it is what I want to hear and see.

Who’s next, probably not someone we’ve been linked with. If Ederson hasn’t failed a medical we might just be driving down the price. Or it could be that these two deals suddenly presented themeselves.

To Quote Scholes/Butt etc.. great signing and UTD are clearly trying to build a squad.

We could have signed Anderson for £130 million like city but what happens if he gets injured? Buying 3 for that money makes more sense at our point in development. We are unlikely to win the league, a cup, another 2nd or 3rd place finish and a run to the knock outs in the CL is a decent season. Having said that, bring in a player like Oshimen and I might raise my expectations.
