Lingard please god no. But I wouldnt be surprised if one of Pogba or De Gea went. I think it will be Dave, Pogba the following summer if we continue to be shit.

    ------------------Romero
    Dalot Alderveireld Lindlelof Shaw
    ----------Rabiot Matic Pogba
    ------Lozano Rashford Martial

Would actually be happy with these signing,
Underwhelming to most I reckon though.

Think itll be between United and City for Rice and Saul, both will get one.

As long as we don't start Matic next season and don't buy Wan-Bissaka I'm not overly fussed, it's going to be another top 4 battle anyway.

    With that team? 6th.

 True, not happy with it either but I can't see us spend more than 150 mill. Sancho alone will cost us 100 mill and then another 50 on probably a Herrera replacement but not sure who so I went with Meunier since I can see us go for him.

That team would be just as awful.

    Very possibly worse.

    Current guess:

    Martial-----Rashford------Sancho---
    -----Pogba---------Fred----------------
    --------------Rice-----------------------
    Shaw-Lindelof-Smalling-WanBissaka
    ------------De Gea--------------------

with Ole only wanting to sign young and safe (in the sense of likely not to flop) options.

I know what you mean, it's hard to have a lot of faith in the United board getting the job done in the market despite the amount of money the Glazers earn off the club every season.

An absolute cop-out I know, but any new signings will start on the bench I think along with Jones, Sanchez and Lukaku; Herrera, Mata, Pogba, Rojo, Darmian, Perierra and of course Valencia will be gone.

A centre back is a priority, that’s all I’m adding. So you all better stop having Smalling - Lindelof partnerships.

    Forwards: Martial, Rashford, Sancho
    Midfield: Pogba, Matic, Fernandes
    Defence: Shaw, Varane, Lindelöf, Wan-Bissaka

De Gea will be the keeper. 4 signings, 4 starters and 250 mil spent (before sales).

I’d go flipping nuts if we signed Bale. I know Woodward has a fetish for this guy even though he has turned us down every transfer window since Sir Alex left. Wouldn't be happy at all.

With Just 165 Millions in this window we could look better and later we can replace Lingard/Smalling//Lukaku/Young. What do you think?

If we still have Young at right back I’ll be done. Won’t be able to stomach that anymore.

    De Gea
    Wan Bissaka Alderweireld Lindelof Shaw
    Herrera Matic
    Lozano Pogba. Martial
    Rashford

    Bench
Romero, Dalot, Smalling, Rice, McTominay, Lingard, Sanchez, Lukaku

Don’t think we’ll get Sancho, hopefully Ander stays.

I dont think you would get £20 Mill for Matic £30M for Bailly (we paid that for him and hes regressed/injury prone) Couldnt think of any team who would pay 10 for injury prone Jones or Rojo. Sancho would cost more than 100 as well

Will post my line up after a little whinge about the OP.

Real paid a fortune for Courtois, he isn’t being binned after one season, no chance.

Real need an over haul, they arent paying £200m for the combination of DDG and Pogba when they are going to be going heavy for one of Neymar, Hazard, Mbappe. And if they don’t then they will still be looking to purchase 3-4 positions. They won’t have the money for De Gea along with outfield players.

    Anyhow.

    De gea
    Dalot
    Shaw
    Lindelof
    Koulibaly
    Pogba
    Saul
    Herrera
    Coutinho
    Rashford

Thats a strong midfield but a weak attack and defence. Think a CB to play with Lindelof and Ole wont change the front two anyway.

The attack would require Bruno Fernandes to come as advertised, something I'm not convinced on but I chose him as he's the one we are most regularly linked to. I agree on a CB but I think we'll be priced out of Koulibaly and de Ligt will go to Barca or Juve.

Sell Courtois to generate cash (+ £50m) and use Varane and kovavic as makeweight in deal for Pogba and De Gea (-£100m). Still have bags of cash for other positions.

(Alternatively De Gea could go to Barca which would potentially make Rakitic or Coutinho an option over Kovacic- it’s going to be the summer of swapsies with prices having got to such an extreme level and teams in need of rebuilding)

Hopefully we can keep De Gea. I'm presuming Pogba stays, but if not just knock him out for a similar expensive replacement. Couple of capable back ups signed at full back I should add. My centre back choices are based on getting someone with a decent left foot, and presuming we have no chance of getting Umtiti.

    ------------------------ De Gea-------------------------------

    Dalot/Meunier (£20M) --------------- Lindelöf/Smalling -- Romagnoli (£50M) Or Ake(£35M)/Bailly -- Shaw/Tagliafico (£20M)

    Ward-Prowse (£20M)/Lingard ----- R. Neves(£35M)/McSauce/Pereira -- Pogba/Fred etc ------------------------ Martial/Ryan Fraser (£25M)

    --------------------- Rashford/Lukaku -- Griezmann (£120M)/Martial -------------------

I know most people will see that side and think eugh. But I think we need a left footed centre back to get Lindelöf onto the right. If they are missing then Lindelöf can slot back there.

I think Dalot and Shaw can be strong enough at full back, which is why I've only gone for decent, but cheaper than could be back up.

I want to see someone at the club who can take a set piece and not hit the wall or first man from corners, hence Ward-Prowse.

Ruben Neves is strong in the middle and can distribute the ball from deep, think he would make an ideal foil alongside Pogba.

Fraser would be a diminutive little winger and provide more grit and defensive cover than Martial when needed.

Griezmann would still be a great marquee signing. Full of arrogance and ability, has a great rapport with Pogba, and would lift the entire team.

£290M Gross Spend. That went quick

Presuming we can get £10M each for Darmian and one of Rojo or Jones. £20M for Sanchez if we are lucky. That ends up being a net spend of £250M  Might have to do some thinking to get the net spend below £200M to be even close to realistic to our budget. I think it would be fine with the wage budget, Mata, Herrera, Sanchez, Darmian, Rojo, Valencia off the wage budget would help so that looks okay, just the transfer budget.

And my prices could be on the light side without a Utd markup.

EDIT 1: One potential change would be to sell Matic. McTominay and Pereira provide more than enough cover, with 5 players for 2 positions. Maybe we could recoup £20M, bringing my net spend to £230M.

Yes and my point is I’m expecting (bloody hoping) we prioritise a centre back. Then a right winger, then a holding mid & right back.

I'm going to go ahead and make a terrible prediction.

    Courtois
    Dalot-Smalling-Lindelof-Shaw
    Kante-Matic
    Sancho-Lingard-Martial
    Rashford
