What strikes me first about the fixtures is that we play Spurs, Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea all at home in the first half of the season...

The second half of the season is going to have by far our most difficult matches.

Last 8 of the season „must win“, at least on paper.
Last big game 14th March Spurs away - hopefully not the last big one of the campagin.

Norwich at home to start the season

Arsenal (A), Chelsea (H) and Newcastle (A) as our last three games in May is quite a tough run in but overall looks like a nice schedule.

Chelsea (H)
Wolves (A)
Crystal Palace (H)
Southampton (A)
Leicester (H)

Is our first 5 matches.
Love it!

Home opener is great and against a weakened top team. The second game is the toughest away game par the top 6 teams.

We will have a great start to the season! Let's go!

Arsenal play Liverpool (a) and Spurs (h) within their first 4 fixtures.

Spurs first 2 away games are City and Arsenal.

First prediction is that if we're around 6 points adrift of Top 4 come the end of March, I would pretty much bank on us finishing at least 4th.

The likes of Chelsea H, Arsenal H, Wolves A, and somewhat tricky games against Palace, Leicester, West Ham A in the first seven etc can definitely set a tone for the season though. We need to not embarrass ourselves there or it could be a long season

Fantastic first game, at home against a team who've lost their manager and their best player and can't sign anyone, then Arsenal and Liverpool at home after a few fixtures to build up some momentum. Couldn't be any better for Ole.

I don't think the starting fixtures are that bad. We mainly play at home against the big teams. It's the latter half of the season I'm more worried about when we'll be away to these teams. This gives us the opportunity to at least have the bigger games at home and hopefully Ole will have his team more settled in the 2nd half of the campaign.

Chelsea (H) 3-1 to us
Wolves (A) 1-1
Crystal Palace (H) 2-0 to us
Southampton (A) 2-1 to us
Leicester (H) 2-1 to us

Optimistic for this season. I think we'll surprise a few.

We play only City away out of top 6 in the 1st half of the season. Not good.

Our last 8 games are favourable:

Sheffield United H
Brighton A
Bournemouth H
Villa A
Southampton H
Palace A
West Ham H
Leicester A

We should be picking up between 20 to 24 points....

This would have been the prime fixture a decade ago. A fixture they never would have even dared to put on the opening day. How the mighty have fallen.

Five of six of the top-six at home during the first half of the season is the major conclusion from this I guess. Chelsea does not even know which manager will be in charge come opening day. Good first fixture.

Arsenal fans will be apoplectic by the end of August! Whatever happens at OT will pale in significance to the farce that will be Arsenal FC this season. Coupled with a shitty transfer window and the prospect of the Europa League, they won't know what to do with themselves. Absolutely can't wait. :D

Get in, home game on boxing day.

First thing I look for.

The bad news is we play 4 of our 5 rivals at home first.

tough start for Ole with Chelsea and Wolves away .. .

this tougher fixtures might prompt Woodward to get his arse into gear

I expect a positive start and a good result against Chelsea might get us off to a flyer

if it goes badly the pressure will be on though!

The Premier League like to have a big fixture on the opening weekend now. Last year it was Arsenal v City.

November and April should both be 12/12 months.

January should be 7/12.
Rock bottom and out of the title race after 2 games. I just knew we would get Wolves away early on.

Also, I fully expect an away Europa tie in Southern Ukraine between City and Spurs in March - inevitable!

Oh and Liverpool to win their first 10 games.

Shit fixtures.

We play 4 of the other top teams home in the first half of the season.

Second half of the season is going to be tough.

December and January tough.

Also, seems the vast majority of our tough games are home in the first half and away in the second half of the season.

Woodward better make sure Ole has everything he needs for the start of the season, I don't wanna hear any excuses.

December is good travelling wise, just one trip to London and then neighbours Burnley.

Need to win one of those two first games. Our performances tend to drop considerably following a couple of defeats.

We have quite a generous run-in really. Not that it helped us last season..
