It would be incredible if Arsenal give a goal back for that.
Not even Wenger would give that goal back. ESR hit it on the volley, he didn't even look at the goal.

Yeah, I don't blame them. Maybe one you give back to look good if you're 10 points clear at the top or something

I always thought when the keeper is down the game stops, foul or no foul. Just before the ball went past the line everyone could see the keeper was down. Even without blowing the whistle you bring the game back, no?

I don't think the goal should have stood.
Never in the laws of the game. Only under unsporting conduct, perhaps.

In this case was injured by own player, pretty hard to argue for it.

De Gea shouldn't go down and saves the shot.

No way Arsenal should give a goal back. DDG wasn't even hurt, tripped by his own man and stayed down looking for the free out. On second watch its more on DDG than Fred.

Point is keeper was down, therefore assumed injured. Regardless of any foul being committed. A ref will always stop the game when that happens. But I can see why there is a grey area around this. I bet the rule is introduced by next week that if a goal is scored and keeper was down, but unseen, then play is brought back after VAR.

Unfortunately for Utd it's too late for them.

Bit shameful of United building attacks to try and win this game to be honest.

United absolutely dominating besides. They'll hit back here and possibly win. Strange to see them playing so aggresively and on the front foot.

Liking the Martinelli-Telles battle, even so far.

Yeah Arsenal are too passive and defensive here. Inviting pressure.

Seems to be Arteta's go to style, that said had Martinelli not shit the bed it'd be 2-0, still fancy United though. Arteta is very defensive coach considering the style of player he was.

We look toothless :nervous:
Final ball lacking for sure at least so far. I think the fact Bruno only wants to pass to Ronaldo lately doesn't help you guys. At least you are putting pressure on and running off the ball compared to last few times I've seen you.

I remember in the late 90s Arsenal v Utd was always a footballing feast of a clash. We're definitely in a different era now.

It's annoying how he will try cross in no matter where he is
Especially as he gives it away so much

You could sense that coming if United got it right.

Has Ronaldo got a tenner on him scoring an overhead kick?

Utd deserve to be leading in this game. Arsenal will lose if they don't change something (mainly Partey).

Sancho did well for the goal as did Fred
But I'm not sure why Rashford is on the right and Sancho left.

Honestly much improved United, still iffy on the final ball but weird goal and potential pen aside Uniteds defense has been better. Also putting some effort into a press paid off for the goal. Just goes to show there is potential there for Rangnick to work with and we could see a very different United come mid January.

Ronaldo didn't look like a footballer in the 1st half.

Neal Maupay is a better striker than him this season.

Chelsea looked toothless but in complete dominant in the first few games under Tuchel. It will come I think.

Agree, I genuinely think we'll see the United we expected this season for the back 19 games.

If that is the case, it will be annoying that a decision was delayed as long as it was
Again

United have too many Hollywood style players. Rashford, Sancho, Ronaldo, Bruno etc., are all too concerned with not doing the simple things and always want to do the spectacular. They need more players that do the simple things to a high standard. The problem is that their simple players in this equation aren’t good enough for title winning sides aka Fred/McT.

Ronnie should have scored there. Great start to 2nd half.

Jim Beglin literally saying someone should step on DDG 2nd half to see what happens. What a dick.
