They can’t now? Divs banned for three years in clauses in SJR share purchase agreement. They will only leave once they can't take money out of the club anymore, simple as that. That's what they bought it for.

Realistically, ticket prices should have been increased years before now. Wasn't there a freeze for many years?
There are many, many reasons for a protest. This isn't one of them.
Dividends aren't the only way to suck the life out of the club. The INEOS deal was brilliant for the Glazers, I bet they can't believe their luck for an asset they didn't pay a penny for. They have made a fortune on the club and stand to make even more. 3 year dividend freeze means little in the grand scheme of things. They can’t now? Does anyone else think they are deliberately leaving the season ticket renewals until as late as possible to minimise protests about an increase?
I thought it’s generally accepted that there’s no pathway to ownership for INEOS like originally reported?I know people don’t see it the same way as I do but this is why I have been saying that the supporters need to hope INEOS can sort it out and go through with the purchase, as per their agreement with the Glazers. I think it’s the only way they go.
Let’s face it, they put the club “up for sale” and there were basically 2 interested parties, and only one seemed to be serious. I think in the short to medium term they’re our only hope of seeing the back of the Glazers.

There should be a league wide cap on ticket prices.
Maybe a commitment for every club to keep a certain amount of adult tickets under £40.

If ticket prices had have increased at the same rate as inflation, you'd be looking at about £25 now for an adult ticket. There should be a league wide cap on ticket prices.

We had permission to take the banner in :
Was also picked up by various media including BBC, Guardian and The Athletic:
The guys next to me got removed from the stadium as they had a Palestinian flag. So yeh, freedom of speech eh.That's brilliant. I'm surprised but at the same time, freedom of speech shouldn't be denied!
That's strange! A protest flag against owners is okay but a Palestinian flag upsets them! The guys next to me got removed from the stadium as they had a Palestinian flag. So yeh, freedom of speech eh.

Glazers have jewish origin so probably because of that. That's strange! A protest flag against owners is okay but a Palestinian flag upsets them!![]()
Most likely they had an idea of how much they wanted to increase prices to, but have since scaled back a bit on their original intentions. As Ratcliffe said yesterday, there will be an increase, but not a massive one.Am I going mad or is the lack of news about prices/Season Tickets for next season a bit weird?
I'm sure we had an update in like February last season.
Unless you are a pensioner, in which case it's a 57% increase in price. Most likely they had an idea of how much they wanted to increase prices to, but have since scaled back a bit on their original intentions. As Ratcliffe said yesterday, there will be an increase, but not a massive one.
They are seemingly prioritising season ticket holders and the young generation.Unless you are a pensioner, in which case it's a 57% increase in price.

There was always going to be an increase. There's nothing wrong with that. You need to be realistic.I'm not sure rises count as prioritising? They just made it sound like it would be 20% so now we have people celebrating 5% on the back of two previous hikes and another guaranteed next year.
Strange that you never got a response to this. What an odd hill to die on for their first, and only, post. It's £51 for a member up to £66. How much are you sticking on top? Seen as it's apparently a bargain and we need to squeeze more.

I can't speculate on what will become mainstream across the board in years to come. I can only comment on what is happening now. I feel that 5% is the minimum increase they could have made. I also feel that they are right not to have raised them any further at this moment in time. The truth of the matter is that the Glazers should have raised ticket prices long before now, but were too afraid of fan backlash.Clearly yours is a common view - and I'm not so naive to not understand why. But I don't agree. Ticket prices can be sustainable at £30-£40. It doesn't need to be accepted.
And we know where this ends (IMO of course). Increases yearly, until we hit a US model. Dynamic pricing as seen for members, and ST numbers gradually reduced - before a likely huge jump for a new stadium.
If they have to raise ticket prices they should make the adjustment large enough that they don’t have to do it again for several years. Nothing worse than the Disneyland approach where the costs for tickets and concessions go up every year.
I agree. Especially after prices has been frozen for 10 yearsThere was always going to be an increase. There's nothing wrong with that. You need to be realistic.
Just to be clear - there has already been 2 consecutive years of rises, they now announced 2 more years so that's 4 years in a rowI agree. Especially after prices has been frozen for 10 years
We need to be protesting against the new ground……….
theyve mentioned next 2 years increasing?Just to be clear - there has already been 2 consecutive years of rises, they now announced 2 more years so that's 4 years in a row
The difference between the item you sell and United is that match day revenues are roughly 1/6th of overall revenue, while I’ll assume all your revenue comes from sales of items. A more apt comparison would be how much would you raise the price of your item if the government/some other body gives you and every shop similar to yours enough money to roughly double your revenue just for simply existing, which is where broadcasting revenues comes in.As always the media jump on anything United do. The hypocrisy is insane. Sky make a big talking point of this yet they have increased their subscription price by how much percent since they began? I'm sure most clubs have increased their prices from 20 years ago.
I am not trying to defend the owners as it doesn't affect me. I get tickets once or twice a year through a travel company. That might be a little extra next season but I understand this affects the every match day going fan. I used to use a tout years ago but has stopped doing it. I was charged 100 pounds for some games per ticket. The club also knows touting happens a lot. I'm sure on any given match day around 5k seats are being touted.
I do think they did try to look after the younger fans and pensioner fans.
I own a small business and I must increase my prices again very soon. One item I sold in 2016 was 16.00, now its 22.00. Soon it must be 24.00. Of course it's a different scale but inflation always occurs.
To be fair it's not the same comparison I agree. Inflation has gone up, though. I'm reading different things and not sure what to believe. Earlier I saw on FB a 77 year old woman was charged 454 pounds last year and next year she will be charged 890 pounds. I heard car park prices went up also which further increases the costs. The difference between the item you sell and United is that match day revenues are roughly 1/6th of overall revenue, while I’ll assume all your revenue comes from sales of items. I can confirm this situation, I am 79 this year, my ticket concession of 50% (and my wife's) has gone. Last year we paid £484.50 (each) this year £794.50 (each) that's not counting cup match tickets which we always signed up for as well.Earlier I saw on FB a 77 year old woman was charged 454 pounds last year and next year she will be charged 890 pounds
That is unfair.I can confirm this situation, I am 79 this year, my ticket concession of 50% (and my wife's) has gone. Last year we paid £484.50 (each) this year £794.50 (each) that's not counting cup match tickets which we always signed up for as well.
Actually we have been given a new 25% concession, but the actual % increase this year is 60%.
It's only people like us who have supported United all their lives who are really getting clobbered.
Sir Jim must think everyone over 70 is as well off as him.
Have not done the math yet, but if it turns out we cannot afford to go to OT next season, then we will have to stand and wave off those who can.![]()
I have learned a long time ago life is not fair... but that's another story. That is unfair.
I wonder, just out of curiosity, how many season ticket holders would be in your age bracket. I'm just thinking if the club worked out lets say x amount of percent are over the age of 70.
How long have you been a season ticket holder for?
I am interested to know what it's like with other clubs. To be clear I am not defending that this is the right thing to do (increase prices by that much). It sucks you have to pay that much extra.
