That's it, that's the tweet that ends this thread. Game over boys, it's over for us Xbox fans. Can't beat 'em...

Glad Xbox is using all that extra power.
PlayStation 5 has a clear advantage in clarity. Across 17 matched samples, Xbox Series X ran with resolution that varied from an absolute low of 720p (thankfully an outlier) to 1440p. Outside of dual-view shots, PlayStation 5 seems to resolve in a tighter, higher resolution 1620p-1728p DRS window. Combined with UE4's temporal upscaler, the presentation passes much more often as a good 4K image. On the really taxing dual-view angles which are The Medium's trademark, Xbox Series X seemed consistent at 972p, whereas PS5 clocked in at 1188p instead.

Performance is also improved in terms of the raw numbers on PlayStation 5 too. Both console games target 30fps, but PS5 avoids sustained drops beneath the target that are still present on the Xbox Series X version of the game.

The obvious question to ask is this: which take on The Medium works best? There's no easy answer here because ultimately it comes down to personal preference, but it does look as though Bloober has essentially delivered the equivalent of a 'fidelity' mode on Series X and something more akin to a 'balanced' mode on PlayStation 5. The Microsoft machine offers up a more polished look with more of an emphasis on ray-traced effects. Meanwhile, PS5 delivers a much more convincing 4K-like image by trading visual quality, gaining performance in the process. Both still look impressive, of course, thanks to the quality of the core artwork. Perhaps there are technical reasons we're unaware of that prevent this happening, but I can't help but think that both consoles should have access to both modes - and the option of a clearer image may also yield dividends for Xbox Series S too.

Since when did the Medium become relevant? It's an okay game at best.
If you want to play it because it looks better on PlayStation, I'd say have fun but I pretty much know you wont.

Saying that I'm finally going to give Avengers a look now it's on gamepass. I don't know what I'll think of it since I'm not much of a Superhero fan but what the hell it's part of my subscription so I might as well at least give it a test run.

They've got more first party coming out in the last 3 months of the year than PlayStation but that's hardly difficult as PlayStation doesn't have any.

Battlefield looks a bit crap doesn't it, streamers don't look incredibly enthusiastic either.

Mental isn't it, ps5 users only have a backlog of great games already released to get through.
Old games are apparently useless though as everybody on here has quite often espoused whenever anybody brought up Xbox's backwards compatibility. Then next new game is all that matters apparently.

Apart from ps5 has had enough new games released since launch to keep going. I mean, bugsnax alone is a masterpiece which you can play forever.

It's quite sad what's happened to Xbox. Oh well...
Yeah having the best multiplayer FPS of this holiday season must be really hard for them to take. The amount of servers they are going to need is going to be taxing on the infrastructure. Oh wait they have got Azure happy days.

I think Xbox and it's players will be quite happy with it's Autumn line up. The fact that they have no need to to splash out £70 a time to play that Autumn line up makes it all the sweeter.
So... Will make no money as you guys no longer buy games? And it's not gonna get anyone off the fence is it? Starfield might...

Tell that to the other free to play games out there that are making their publishers billions every year. Add to that Gamepass is supposed to be somewhere between 24m and 30m subscribers paying up to £10 a month that's at least £2.8 billion a year hardly making no money.

Forza looks gorgeous. Halo need more deets on campaign, but multiplayer looks great.
