Thats how I justify buying outrageously expensive hw as well !So I’m not getting ripped off then.. since I’d use it as workstation.

I've got one, prefer to game on console nowadays.Point is, PC is so much more than a games system.
A gaming system that allows you to mod games to your liking also. Career mode on Fifa 21 is shit again? There's mods to make it good. PC's just offer far more than just raw power. As a workstation , yes. But if you dont do 3D design or video editing or deep learning its pretty much a gaming system. Referring to the mentioned graphics hw, not regular pcs.
I use an Xbox controller on PC. I mostly play single player games. I’ll get a PS5 for its excellent exclusives.I've got one, prefer to game on console nowadays.
I like benchmarking games etc. Tweaking graphical fidelity. There is so much to PC gaming. Once you get into it, it’s hard to go back to consoles. Consoles are good for their simplicity. Games just work mostly. With PC, you’re occasionally getting bad PC support etc but you get used to it. The benefits far outweigh the negatives imo.A gaming system that allows you to mod games to your liking also. Career mode on Fifa 21 is shit again? There's mods to make it good. Yeah, I'd be in a similar boat, enjoy consoles but PC gaming will always be better for myself. In addition to everything we mentioned the value and choice of games on Steam is also amazing and I find myself going to back older games and having a blast also. You just don't get that flexibility on consoles.I like benchmarking games etc. Tweaking graphical fidelity. There is so much to PC gaming. Once you get into it, it’s hard to go back to consoles. Having the ability to revisit old games at any time is brilliant. I’m not knocking on consoles. They’re great for what they’re aimed to do.Yeah, I'd be in a similar boat, enjoy consoles but PC gaming will always be better for myself. Nah...The PS5 disc version will not be more than £499.
Why does he need to justify anything? If people want to spend their money on expensive stuff then let them. PC is expensive, but he’s laughing also because the games tend to be half the price of consoles. Long term wise he’d be saving money.Thats how I justify buying outrageously expensive hw as well !
You think it will be higher than £499?...Nah...
I have a gaming PC that I do all those things on, I just don't brag about it in console threads cause they are the worst kind of person.I’d love to see you edit a video on a PS5. Or even send an email.
Wait, how much do you think it'll be? The series X is only £449 and they both cost roughly the same to make.Nah...
Financially Microsoft can afford to take a far bigger hit on the price than Sony.Wait, how much do you think it'll be? The series X is only £449 and they both cost roughly the same to make.
How are you Dixie? I know it’s been a rough week. Just know that I support you even though you were in the wrong.Wait, how much do you think it'll be? The series X is only £449 and they both cost roughly the same to make.
Sure, but it's not like MS are not in to make a profit. It's not a money pit anymore. Both companies will probably make a small loss on each console sold.Financially Microsoft can afford to take a far bigger hit on the price than Sony.
It's just banter mate, why are you so wound up?Why does he need to justify anything? If people want to spend their money on expensive stuff then let them. PC is expensive, but he’s laughing also because the games tend to be half the price of consoles. Long term wise he’d be saving money.
I don’t get people who spend thousands on Fifa points. But if they having fun then so what? I probably get the 3090, don’t give a feck what anyone on here besides Elvis thinks on here. Might be over the top and waste of money or I might get my monies worth.
What did I do?How are you Dixie? I know it’s been a rough week. Just know that I support you even though you were in the wrong.
Sorry. I’ll try not to brag again.I have a gaming PC that I do all those things on, I just don't brag about it in console threads cause they are the worst kind of person.
The old banter excuse when backtracking. We all serious in this thread. So be serious or get out. It's just banter mate, why are you so wound up?
For MS the profit isn't as important, what's important is getting people on services like Gamepass and Xbox Ultimate, because they know those services are far stronger than their competitors offerings. It's obviously important for Sony to get as many consoles sold as possible too but the risk vs reward of them undercutting costs isn't as high, especially as they as a company are struggling far more financially than Microsoft.Sure, but it's not like MS are not in to make a profit. I've been banned there 4 or 5 times. It's like walking on eggshells. The mods are power-hungry. And Lord knows, don't try and have a joke about a trillion-dollar company.Do you come back as a returnee? Do you have to change your posting style?
Is resetera not like this thread but turned to 11?
Nice. Are you going to go for an 8K TV. Remember you saying that you would be upgrading soon. I’d love to see what games look like on 3090 and an 8K top of the range QLED for instance. Why does he need to justify anything? If people want to spend their money on expensive stuff then let them. Why do you go back then? The place obviously isn’t right for you. For instance, I left redissue because I thought the place was full of jumped up arseholes. No point spending time somewhere where you’ll just be annoyed all the time.I've been banned there 4 or 5 times. It's like walking on eggshells. The mods are power-hungry. I'm agreeing with ya....Wait, how much do you think it'll be? The series X is only £449 and they both cost roughly the same to make.
I agree Sony aren’t going to take a big loss like they did with PS3. Long term wise this machine won’t be costly like the PS3 was. So they could even drop the price next year when parts get cheaper. For MS the profit isn't as important, what's important is getting people on services like Gamepass and Xbox Ultimate, because they know those services are far stronger than their competitors offerings. Yeah I agree with all that. I don't think it'll be above £499 but I'd be equally surprised if it's £449 - maybe the digital will be. Hopefully it is the same price as the X, though.I agree Sony aren’t going to take a big loss like they did with PS3. Long term wise this machine won’t be costly like the PS3 was. But £100 difference and you kind of tempting people to go Xbox as that’s the more powerful machine. But sadly for Xbox the games aren’t there yet to match the machine. What Sony have in their benefit is that people won’t want to lose their digital library or risk moving to a console which their friends are not on. Digital is up massively compared to start of last gen and that plays into the hands of Sony as business is booming on PSN. If somebody has a lot of digital games on psn, I doubt they going to abandon ship to join Xbox even though gamepass is tempting.
I'm part of a couple of communities on there. I think I'll try and stay out of gaming side. Why do you go back then? The place obviously isn’t right for you. You are always welcome here.I'm part of a couple of communities on there. I think I'll try and stay out of gaming side.
Nah, I want oled. LG make panels for the Sony oled, but they not as good gaming wise compared to LG.Nice. Are you going to go for an 8K TV. Remember you saying that you would be upgrading soon. I’d love to see what games look like on 3090 and an 8K top of the range QLED for instance.
Thanks!You are always welcome here.
Too rich for my blood butNah, I want oled. LG make panels for the Sony oled, but they not as good gaming wise compared to LG.
From a marketing perspective there's a strong argument for undercutting the Xbox Series X. Endless marketing research shows that people tend towards the middle when given a choice of more than 2 items. If there are two Xbox consoles there, a lower power one that's cheaper and a high power one that's more expensive, but the PS5 sit in the middle, lots of people will go for the middle ground due to a perceived best of both worlds. For MS the profit isn't as important, what's important is getting people on services like Gamepass and Xbox Ultimate, because they know those services are far stronger than their competitors offerings.
