PSG Sporting Director Luis Campos is in ADVANCED talks to join Manchester United.| errr no he’s not

I'm no expert on PSG or Campos, but was someone like Vitinha an 'obvious' choice to be their midfield controller? A guy who looked unexceptional for Wolves by most accounts. Likewise, Ugarte has his defenders on here and elsewhere but between him and the guy who replaced him ( and cost a few million more) in Neves, I know which I'd take in this Utd midfield. That whole team, in fact, looks like it has elite qualities in terms of individual dribbling or passing ability, but also looks very balanced.

Obviously Enrique has to take some credit for that, but despite the oil money, PSG seem to have spent similar sums to us in recent times and got much better value for it. . Some of that maybe also down to negotiation with agents and contacts, whereby they secure deals for likes of KK and JN for seemingly below-market-value prices via relationships with Jorge Mendes and whoever else... but Campos is presumably part of that as SD.
Yeah, Vitinha, Neves, Ruiz, Barcola, Dembele, Doue, Lee, Pacho are definitely good signings.
But at the same time, Campos spent 200m€ on Kolo Muani, Ramos and Ekitike and that could have completely derailled Luis Enrique's tenure.

He was never coming plus only likes a 433 system so Ruben would have been on his way out, now he con over see our complete fall from grace with a 30 point relegation next season?

No new DOF would put up with Berrada who has no on the pitch experience making football decisions!

Would’ve been amazing if he brought Enrique with him.

Guy doesn’t rate the sauce.

Though his list has some ratings I’d disagree with.

Luckhurst should be Tier F/U in terms of grades. Can't think of anything he does well, from transfers to in-club news to ratings, except generate angry clicks and BTL comments for the M.U.N...

It's all fun and games living in Monaco and Paris doing business but can he make a proper handshake on a rainy day in Stoke?

Any proper footballing upper management person will tolerate 15 mins max of amorim formation before getting an aneurysm.

Any proper footballing upper management person will know that the formation and Amorim are not the problems we have. How did these players do under ETH’s lovely 4231 formation? Fans are just too reactive after a loss.

Florentina Perez using his son to disrupt our Europa league dominance is a really low blow. What a sad little life.

What tier is this?

Ben says no you don't.

How credible is Jacobs though?

He is Tier 2, I believe. I'm not entirely sure what that means but Tier 2

What tier is Tinka?

I knew this would end in tiers

Romano has said there's nothing into it.

Wow that’s massive news he’s one of the best in the business

I mean it’s the sort of appointment that could completely change this club for the better

No doubt he falls out with the board and manager having ideas that don’t fit with their direction. One things for sure we need to stop managers making decisions on transfers.

Campos is amazing but he won’t come here. Vivell has taken up that role. Campos also demands his clubs appoint, I believe, 12 ‘super scouts’. We’ve just cut down our scouting set up but have like 80 regular scouts. There would be way too much upheaval to accommodate Campos and his team.

Quality control

Ok amorim.

That would be quite the jump for him, considering he’s been the pointman of turning PSG away from Real Madrid Galactico tribute team to the French Bayern Munich, to very positive results.

I still think Ashworth’s replacement isn’t going to be a like for like role-wise and will probably be something else, since I believe Berrada is more hands on in the football side of things than initially thought and Wilcox is good enough to step up from his original hired level, as well as Vivell being liked enough to be kept on beyond his fixed term contract.

If he would end up joining, could he lure Vitinha, Mendes or Hakimi to us one day? They would suit us so much. Or Desire Doue.

too many cooks spoil the broth.
Berrado as CEO makes sense - not at all qualified to run the football side. Wilcox has next to no experience in the top football job, a few months at Southampton. I think vivell is on a fixed term contract and seems to be another downstream recruitment expert. We desperately need someone to run the football side of the club - ridiculous that they haven't organised that side of things yet

We're sink or swim with Wilcox, Berrada and Vivell for the summer. Highly doubt we'll make any more changes here.

But generally football is a bit of an old boys club and having a well connected sporting director with lots of relationships with agents, other sporting directors etc. is an asset. For example, you could do things like have one of your buddies enquire for a player and get quoted a price without United / PL tax and that gives you some bargaining strength with other parties. You could get calls from your buddies bringing you promising players - the Jorge Mendes / Wolves situation is one such example. He has such a good relationship with Wolves that they'll probably replace Cunha with a Neto type player fairly easily.

Not an emergency for now but something to consider for us with guys like Campos.
