Yes, and apparently that's how they end up with an official song and an official anthem. Probably the best thing out of WC2010, along with Forlán killing it.
Suarez becoming most wanted in the entire continent was hilarious too.

It needs to be covered but we’re 40 minutes away from KO and there’s zero football talk on the BBC.

Exact opposite in the US broadcast. They are absolutely lapping it up.
That’s because the US is going to host and need their viewers to get into this competition. At some point they will bring up the bad points but it will at the studio by a non footballing analyst but wont go to far into it as they need to generate interest in the football ahead of their own World Cup. None of these play by play or football analysts will bring it up. Everything is just peachy.

They are probably trying to get this stuff out of the way, to be fair, to avoid any flack.

yeah. Just the fact it's held in November, pundits looking miserable (understandable), the whole controversy around it all, just feels a bit 'meh' atm
Shearer was right when he said it was supposed to be in the summer with air conditioned stadiums and air conditioned fan parks and here we in November, every league disrupted in a country that is too small to host it.

We don't need to generate interest. We sell out 100,000 seat stadiums with outrageous ticket prices for pre-season friendlies for European clubs.. There will be no lack of interest in a North American world cup, regardless of what happens here.

Looks like quite a few fans are still downing their Bud zeros before kick off. They're missing the action!
