England were definitely lucky and the game could have been over in the first half if Sorloth squares the ball to Haaland. If England go 2-0 down, I don't see us getting back into it. We looked the weaker team for quite some time after the goal.
On the whole, I didn't think England's performance was great. I didn't like the lack of control in midfield, I thought several players could have done more, and we are too reliant on Bellingham and Kane to produce something.
It definitely was a game full of decisions. The penalty looked like one in real time from the initial angle, but it's clear that there was a mistake there and the player was looking for it. The right decision was made eventually.
Likewise, the right call in my opinion was made with the Haaland shove for Norways's disallowed goal. However, I will say that refereeing and decision making regarding pushing and shoving at corners has been an issue all season and has been terribly inconsistent. It is a foul, but I daresay that there are some weeks where that goal would have stood. It shouldn't, and it should be a foul every week.
With the second half, I was expecting a Norway winner and wouldn't have begrudged you the win had it come. Our midfield was a right mess and there was too much chopping and changing without us having any control. We looked worse imo when Rice came off, even if he wasn't having a particularly strong game. Very disappointed Mainoo didn't come on at some point in that second half.
On the whole, a very tight game and closer than I wanted it to be. But then, that's where your star players step up and produce something. Bellingham is just something else. Carrying the team.
