Yes, why not? I would like to see him given a shot too since Onana is injured and our current number 2 is also shaky.

Pretty big ask to expect Vitek to be ready and given a chance this season....

He'd be much better than Onana. Even if he isn't going to be given a chance at United he'll be a great keeper for someone else in 2-4 years time.

Yeah but the question is whether Amorim wants to take that risk in such a key position. He doesn't have much leeway to drop points at the start of the season given where we finished in the league.

Is it really such a risk when we look at who our current first choice keeper is?

Yes.

An unproven inexperienced young goalkeeper behind that defence is a disaster waiting to happen.

Not travelling with the squad which is odd, Ben Mee got in ahead so surely Vitek is back out the door?

That's so disappointing. Are we seriously going to use Bayindir while we wait for Onana to be fit? I thought this was such an obvious chance for Vitek to try to stake a claim.

Millwall were interested in a loan I think. If they can get him a championship loan then it's probably the best option for his development.

Chances are we'll need to replace Bayinder and Onana in the next couple of seasons so they'll be a gap for him.

If he's first choice in the Championship, yes. It's still disappointing given that Bayindir is clearly nowhere near good enough and Onana isn't either. I know we need a striker, but I think that's a more fixable problem than having a shite goalie. Was hoping Vitek would become #2 this season with the other two booted out of the club.

Loaned or sold probably. Which is a shame. I seriously thought he would have a chance of claiming the number one spot considering the other options.

Going on loan to Bristol City by the sound of it.

Decent loan for him at a side that finished top 6 in the Championship last year.

Assuming he’s starting (you’d hope we’ve got assurances he is), that’s a really good loan. Should give us a good idea of his level for next summer.

Saved a penalty and kept a clean sheet in a 4-0 friendly win over Real Valladolid today. An impressive debut all round.

Good news. I hope he can continue to impress. Ruben has improved nearly all our outfield positions. Really hope that a local goalkeeper can repace Onana

Decent start. Needs to maybe put a little less air on some of his kicking. Make them just a tad flatter and get the same distance.

Hi Bristol city fan here. I was at Ashton gate yesterday and was very impressed with Vitek, he saved an admittedly poor penalty but showed a commanding presence at the back with great vision and distribution. Some of us were surprised we signed him after signing lumley but to me he seems an excellent addition.
Good luck with the season and hopefully you don't need to recall him in jan :)

Cheers. Same to you. Think you’ve a very good keeper on your hands. Encouraging to hear his distribution was good as that’s regarded as his biggest weakness.

Good luck to you guys and please pop in periodically to review, praise and/or criticise his performances :+1:

Thanks mate! Would love to hear from you more about his progress.

Good luck in your season.

Playing live against Sheffield Utd on Sky Sports for anyone interested.

Currently 2-1 up - just made two brilliant saves. He looks good, and could do nothing about the goal conceded.

If this is the level Vitek will have in the Championship, there will be clubs offering us £30 million for him next season.

They’d be offering that if he played for literally anyone else. We’ll be offered a loan deal with an obligation* to buy for £5m

*obligation can be cancelled.

Nah - he will attract a lot of attention if he continues like this. MOTM will clearly go to Scott Twine who was sensational with 2 goals and 1 assists - but he was probably the 2nd best player on the pitch

Kicking looks a little iffy but seems very commanding in the box/claiming crosses.

Great start, he does look good doesn't he. Hell of a throw on him too.

He actually looks like a keeper. Does normal stuff like claiming crosses and catching the ball. One of those players Chelsea sell for £30 million down the line.

Good showing. Wish we’d kept him around, especially with Onana injured and you know, well… being Onana.
