I think he the job was too big for him. He had no authority in making the players and even fans respect him. Van Gaal, despite only winning the FA Cup was much better at interviews IMO. Just the way he appeared, did not come across as weak.I felt bad for him at that stage. He'd gone so grey compared to how he looked when he took over. The worry lines seemed to be everywhere. I think he clocked around February-March when Mata hadn't revived us that he wasn't going to survive here. He looked like he'd ran out of hope and ideas by the final few weeks
I recall Brady and Dunphy saying similar about Moyes. That he was just too much of a nice guy for the job in hand. Following on from Ferguson who the players would have gladly died for.
