I’d do this. Or De Ligt and McKennie. Or straight up for Chiesa.

How about Varane for Pogba straight up? Obviously, we’d do Valverde for Pogba.
Ceballos is going back to Madrid, we should do a straight swap with him for Pogba.

Slimey man this Rebola. He knows Madrid can’t afford Pogba and can’t generate the interest elsewhere. Whilst still keeping the doors open for potential interest in a couple of years.
The cards are temporarily in our favour (wonder what Glazers and Ed were playing at trying to give Madrid a lifeline, ESL). Play it right and get the perfect deal with Pogba.
He knows United fans in general love his client and see him as one of us but he tactics of always playing us against the club is running thin. Now it up to Pogba to show us and his supporters, why deserves the loyalty. Or just leave our club in peace.
The most idiotic statements that comes from PR rubbish is ambition. If any United fan believes the club or owners don’t want to win trophies, you deserve to be mugged off the way we have been since SAF retired. Even my 90 yr old Mam still believes she is the best mum there ever was consider all her kids are druggies and alcoholics. Because we have been going about things wrong way doesn’t equate to lack of ambition. It’s poor judgement calls like allowing Rebola and ilk the influence they perceive to hold over us, that’s fecked us over this far.
Sick of his dirruptiveness, just let us enjoy our little glories and build on it. Stop making OUR CLUB about you and Pogba.

Can't see anything changing with Pogba/Raviola if he signs a new deal. If we're not up there or in the middle of slump at anytime you know the circus will ramp up again and possibly affect players and selections. We'll see shit like what happened before the critical Leipzig match and Ole having to leave the player out. You need to have real commitment and not this constant jumping ship at the sign of any bad results and his agent sounding the gun before a big match and his brothers chiming in.

Hopefully his agent realizes his latest stunt crossed a line, I do feel there's some guilt since it happened.

Would love it to all work out, Pogba is a super talent.

I think Paul wants to stay, I think Raiola is now trying to get him the best terms and ensure that we are also going to be continuing to invest in the squad and pushing to be an elite club again rather than a top 4 club.
Yeah thats my gut feeling. Pogba I think could play to a top level until 34. He must also be loving playing with Cavani, Bruno, Rashford, Shaw, Greenwood. Other top clubs are struggling financially and also look to be in a rebuild phase also. The only ones that arent are PSG and City. He is ambitious no matter what anyone says so no PSG at this stage and obviously not City. I reckon we will get another 3 years out of him and then he will look to Real perhaps and finish with PSG. Key thing is to keep Cavani and then strengthen in 2-3 positions. We are very close to taking the next step and he knows it.

I don’t think there’s much wrong with those comments. I know people will continue to dismiss how Pogba has played for the last few years, but the team has been wildly inconsistent and there’s been so many personnel changes.

I’ve never understood the want for him to “take the game by the scruff of the neck” and drag us from average to champions. How often does a single midfielder actually do that in an average team? It’s going to be his last big contract, so I’m not surprised he is considering where he wants to spend the prime of his career. I hope we get it done.
I doubt his last big one. We may have him until he is 30 and I dont see a physical decline happening. He will pick up big wages for at least another 6 years.

I'm not sure Real Madrid has any five players put together who I would swap Pogba for. Their stars are mostly on their last legs.

I rather get Zidane than Hazard. At least Zidane never depended on speed and pukka pies. I bet he's more still effective than Hazard today.

This just means if Pogba extends it's a win-win for us. Keep a quality player and we sign quality in the summer to make a real push at the PL/UCL. He's only staying if we show that we're serious about challenging with out additions.

We won't sign Hazzard. He's 30 and injury prone. He cost about £90M, and in two years he's played about 20 games and only scored a few goals. He has to be Real's worst ever signing. Why would we be interested in him? No chance!

Ferguson said one of the first things he looked for when signing a player was their injury record - he wanted players who could play almost every match, every season. If you look at the players OGS has brought in - they have hardly missed a game through injury

James is usually fit to play, Maguire never misses a game, AWB has missed 8 league games in 3 years, Bruno has averaged more than 30 league games each season for 7 years, Cavani played 300 games for PSG in 7 seasons. Alex Telles 192 matches in 4 seasons at Porto. And DvB played a total of 133 matches in his last 3 seasons at Ajax.

If anyone thinks OGS would sign a 30 year old Hazard who has missed half the matches in his last 2 seasons - seriously :)

It’s all a ploy for a big new contract with reports out that Pogba is in negotiations for a pay rise and new four year deal, Raiola knows no one can afford Pogba and knows United won’t let him go on a free either but Pogba looks like he’s happy so I think we’ll have a confirmation before the Euro’s that Pogba has signed a new contract and worst comes to the worst we can sell him at a premium in 2022 or 2023.

Let's face it, Pogba won't sign unless the fatman gets paid. So how much are we prepared to give him?

Yeah but if he signs a contract it’ll be a five year one. Of course we then might decide to sell him at 30, but I doubt his wages will increase if he goes elsewhere. Maybe PSG. That’s the only team I can see paying higher than us.

The big thing that no one has mentioned is the 500k a week he wants to stop. If Pogba wanted to stop here for the love or for the chance to win the big trophies then he wouldn't be asking for so much. I would hope the club sell him and see how much salary the buying club offer him.

Someone a few posts back posted something like, 'If we sign Pogba on 350k/w, Bruno will immediately want that, too'.

As posted numerous times, here's how the conversation would go between Matt Judge and Bruno if the club offered the latter such a wage.

Judge: Bruno, how about 350k/w.
Bruno: Are you kidding?
Judge: (beams proudly) Nope! It's real. I knew you'd love it. Let's get you signed up and-
Bruno: Are you stupid?
Judge: (grin fades) Uh-
Bruno: That's fifteen million a year the club could be spending on something else.
Judge: Um-
Bruno: Get the feck out.
Judge: This is my office but, uh-

That is not a joke. It's literally how someone of the particular elite-level personality type mentioned several times will react to an offer like that.
 If you believe that ffs

So what was your reaction in the meeting when Raoila proposed these wages for Pogba did you stomp out of the meeting with utter disgust or your tried to negotiate it down.

Raiola on Pogba in his 2 hours interview with AS:

https://as.com/futbol/2021/05/01/reportajes/1619837572_279838.html

"With Pogba, the important thing now is to know what United wants, what project they propose to Pogba. Pogba is interested in one thing, winning the Champions League and winning titles, and we are going to see where this is possible, if at United or at other clubs."

"At one time Pogba felt a lot of love and trust from United, and there were several other clubs… Later, it is very difficult for United and Madrid to understand each other for a great transfer, because strong clubs do not want to sell strong players to other strong clubs. And I'm not going to fool him, for Pogba playing for Madrid was always a very attractive thing for Zidane too. He is his idol as a young man."

Is it possible now? (going to Real Madrid)

"I do not know. I think that nothing is impossible, but football depends on the day. As it is. And you have to be flexible to think of all the possibilities. What if Madrid wants to make a Hazard-Pogba change tomorrow? It is just an example. And if all four parties like it, why not?"
John F Kennedy said it once. Ask not what country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.

Change country to club and that should be right way to think. Why should clubs beg players? There are milions of players out there. You don't want to be here, go. You want to be here. Stay. I see no problem but this pushing for some drama so media can spin on it needs to stop.

I’m thinking we will get £60 million max for him and I believe he will be sold.

£40 million for martial if anyone is silly enough to buy.

£30 million for Lingard

That would be decent business.

So you think Raiola will negotiate? The club want to shift De Gea on because of £375k a week according to the media. Do you think Raiola will say yes we will accept £300k a week and my £20 mill for persuading him to stay?

If you think hard enough about it, you might be able to figure out how a person might know there are people in the world who actually really do that sort of thing. ;)

If you're a rando off the street making 50 or even 100 an hour, you'll never ever ever understand why.

Yes, reading the reported £500k he will ask, to be honest it doesnt even have to be close to that amount £300k+, for me, he just isnt that player and certainly within our team.

1) 5years he has been at the club now. What has he done consistently over that period to justify anywhere close to those wages?

2) With our set up, a lot of fans for me were wrong from his France performances that he could play in the double pivot. He just isnt defensively aware enough or good enough in the tackle and more importantly he does have sloppy lapses on the ball that can be crucial losing possession in that area

3) For me his best position is on the left. There is of course justified argument he is better than Rashford there. I am not of the feeling Rashford can play on the right or that he can play as a striker. Is he that much better that we pay him £500k a week and Rashford is dropped. People talk about the business side of what Pogba brings, Rashford is the media darling and face of United, especially in this country. SHouldnt be part of the conversation but Rashford isnt gettign dropped on to the bench consistently and playign elsewhere for me weakens us as does Pogba in a double pivot. We are talkign a 4year contract of £100m odd, it wouldnt make sense to me.

4) His next best position....is that of Fernandes

5) On top of that is the toxic problems his agent constantly causes and lets face it, Pogba has done very little to put a stop to that, quite the opposite on many an occasion. Pogba is self serving, in a different way though to Ronaldo for example who always showed love and respect to the club even though we all knew he wanted to play at Madrid one day, its different with Pogba.

Lets be conservative and say Pogba demands £400k a week for four years OR we sell him for £50m - That is £130m in total, If and of courseit is a big if, all of that money were to be used in the transfer market do fans think we would be better off with Pogba in the side for the next four seasons or we would be better off if we spent £130m this summer. I know it isnt an either or, or that we can even pull off the transfers but playing devils advocate would I rather have Pogba on the left than Rashford over the next four seasons or have Rashford there and for example add Rice/Camavinga as a double pivot or Haaland up front or Sancho/Varane added to problem areas

It would be Pogba's decision whether he stays or not but I don't give credence to stupid media reports ,that he could be asking for £500k or even more for all I know but I don't believe media hacks would know such details for one second. And Club wants to move De Gea because he isn't good anymore ,had he been doing well this talk of selling him wouldn't even come up irrespective of his wages.

By 'overwhelming amount' I might have meant just Pogba.

On a less-serious note, (zlAh-tan, mkhitAH-ree-AHn, donnAH-room-Ah, hAH-lAHnd, etc) It's totally a pattern.
ZlAhtan, donnAh-room-Ah poppet up in my head at once, thanks for the others

Jesse LingAHrd is probably excluded cause he isn't troublesome in most peoples mind. BUT. He made his own clothing line, so that makes him top the list of troublesome.

SEE!?! It's totally a pattern. RaiolAH, too. I left out zlAH-tAHn 'cause he wasn't problematic.

Keep him away from Harry, Luke, Martial, Rashford, Ole, Sancho, McTominay, AWB, Mata, Matic-

...by God, it's basically everyone.

For sure Pogba is a marvelous talent. He can do things on the field that no other outfield player can do. But he comes with a price.

He currently apparently asked to play on the left wing. Great addition. It requires moving United 's top young attacker to a position to the right where he is ineffectual. Not only that, a top developing talent, Greenwood ends up on the bench. In short Pogba does not fit into the team he disrupt it the performance of the team but is detrimental to its development.

Arguably Greelish is the equivalent of Pogba. His price tag is certainly higher. 70M for Pogba? 100M for Greelish. By contrast Greelish can play anywhere up front and in midfield. By contrast , to Pogba, Greelish augments entire United 11 .

It´s a bit more than that..
At the same time Riaola's job is a bit more than getting Pogba a lot of money. For example not letting him spend his prime years at a club in turmoil and constant rebuild. Oh, and behaving like an absolute clown and getting called our for it.
