Luckhurst made some good points on a pod a day or two ago, about a DoF. We've been extending contracts, and at any hint of (probably agent leaked) interest from other clubs, rewarding new contracts (Lindelof - linked with Barca), that have not been merited in the slightest. A DoF would halt that madness.
We still desperately need more competency in the hierarchy. We extended Smalling, Rojo and Jones under Ole, improved Lindelof's and Pereira's contracts. Locked de Gea in a monster deal (which most people at the time were happy about). We're nowhere near shrewd enough.
Spent a full summer haggling with Leicester then paying the stated price known for months. Spent a month haggling over Bruno, a player we'd already been looking at many months prior. Probably could have spent less on James too, not that it was big money.
