1. CIity - won the title nuff said
2. Liverpool - better'd by a better team, still got more than 90 points
3. Brentford - first season and comfortably stayed up while playing some good stuff
4. Spurs - made top 4 despite a crap start
5. Brighton - top half finish for a team that could've struggled
6. WHU - didn't get Europa but a good finish for them
7. Arsenal - despite missing out on champions league I think they had their best season in years and were less embarrassing throughout
8. Newcastle - great end to the season for them and unfortunately it looks like they'll only go up
9. Palace - good first season under Viera, can they build on it?
10. Chelsea - no trophies and 19 points off the pace. Adequate season but money spunked on Lukaku and failure to build CL momentum
11. Leicester - look to be on the slide under Rodgers but finished in a respectful position
12. Wolves - could be higher on this list, decent season.
13. Villa - avoided relegation comfortably
14. Southampton - Same as above
15. Leeds - bad season but stayed up
16. Norwich - didn't work out, probably expected to get relegated
17. Burnley - relegated after so many years
18. Everton - just avoided relegation but an absolute farce they got so close
19. Watford - all the chopping and changing they go back down on a whimper
20. Who else? Billions spent and barely got into the Europa league, GD zero and an absolute joke of a team from top to bottom. Talk of challenging to being spanked by a good amount of teams.

I'd disagree with Newcastle being so high and Arsenal so low

I'd say getting to 2 cup finals means you've played better than anyone except one club in both competitions. I'd put us somewhere around 6th or 7th, above Newcastle, Arsenal and Spurs.

It's telling that, despite finishing 6th-EL (just as bad as 2016, 2017, 2019, and actually better than 2014), this feels like a midtable 8th-11th season.

Chelsea have been disappointing. Tuchel unable to keep up with Pep/Klopp. Not that impressed with Arsenal (from 8th to 5th...okay), or Newcastle. Everton played with fire, one of their worst seasons ever. I guess WH have been the "Wolves" of this season. Leicester steadily becoming a midtable club (not bad, I guess). I predict Leeds will get back to the Championship before Aston Villa.

Other than Pep/Klopp, Conte has had the greatest success.

Newcastle were about 17th until game week 20. From that point, only Man City and Liverpool got more points than them (48 Pool; 46 City; 38 Newcastle). They had an insanely good second half of the season

I don’t think some people still truly appreciate the scale of how big a disaster this football club has been in the last decade . We have had 1 season with 75+ points in the last decade with a squad that costs more than most in the league year after year

If you take expectations into account:

top 3:
Liverpool
City
Tottenham

Bottom 3
Chelsea
Man United
Everton

Feck off

Seriously though, finished 3rd with two cup finals lost on pens. Decent attempt in Europe. Unless we're strictly talking about the league only, in which case, fair enough.

The question isn’t ranking the second half of the season though. You can’t just ignore the horrific start they made.

I can't be arsed ranking all 20, so all I'll say is United are bottom, closely followed by Everton. Two abysmal teams relative to the money spent

Obviously, but few teams had a consistently solid season?

20 Man United- 2nd to 6th, players have let the club down massively
19 Everton- expecting them to be nearer mid table than nearly going down
18 Burnley- thought they would have stayed up
17 Norwich- thought they would go down and did
16 Watford- Same as above
15 Leeds - 2nd season syndrome
14 Southampton- lacked consistency
13 Aston Villa- Stayed up
12 Leicester City- 9th flattered how poor they were for most of the season
11Arsenal- Spent big to only finish 5th
10 Wolves- looked good for long periods but fell off the cliff in the back end of the season.
9 Palace- Vieria has done a great job
8 Brentford- for a team that has had their PL debut, they have been the best since Reading.
7 Brighton- Top 10 finish, Potter continues to impress
6 West Ham- Good season top 8 finish for them and Europe next season
5 Newcastle- Rubbish until Howe came in and spent quite wisely in January
4 Chelsea- 2 cup finals and finished 3rd
3 Spurs- Conte has done a great job to get them top 4
2 Liverpool- Finished on 92 points
1 Man City - Won the league

Just shows how shit the PL is when we're the 6th best side

You've got teams like West Ham being praised for what they're doing and yet we finish above them. No wonder the two sides with elite managers are finishing with 90+ points most seasons because the opposition is horrendous

As for ranking we're obviously bottom, City and Liverpool are top and everyone else is inbetween

West Ham started well but as many predicted, slowly drifted to where they probably should be considering Leicester's awful season. I don't think people are praising them much at this point.

I see them finishing behind Newcastle and Leicester next season.

Harder to make that claim about cup competitions because sometimes the best team beats the second best team before the final.

Your hardest game to get to the FA Cup final was Crystal Palace. That has to be a factor.

I know, beating Boro isn't for everyone :D

But no, fair point, but it was all PL road to the league cup final. I wasn't arguing the two cup finals made a poor season into a great one. I'm just saying it wasn't a terrible one either. It was a good season overall. For me anyway. I know lots don't agree with that and that's fine.

Even the teams that got relegated took points of us.
