They looked closer to being capable of a title run in the near future during the last four months of the season than we did, there's no disputing it. Their squad is comparable but their manager is far better.I disagree with this, Chelsea aren't even close to having one of the best squads in the domestic league. The main difference is they have a very good manager while United are still seeing how far Ole can go in terms of his managerial capabilities.
No European or domestic player is going to actively choose United over Chelsea if titles are their priority. We're on a fairly even footing but they have the edge because they've literally just won the most coveted club trophy for feck sake. If belief in the manager is a big factor, Tuchel is obviously going to beat out Ole 100 times out of 100. If it's about location, when it comes to footballers preferences London always beats Manchester, as we know.
That's the depressing reality. That's what you get from 8 years of Woodward and abysmal managerial appointments, for different reasons, one after the other, and disastrous signings and ridiculous contracts handed out like candy to players who haven't come close to earning them.
