Needs to be done. This will give him time to reflect and hopefully find his old form again. Hopefully Sancho & martial will step up in his absence.

Hopefully it gets sorted and he's back soon.

At least he's got a shit-ton of reading material for the hospital bed!

What a waste of the last 6 weeks for him in hindsight. Means that we're no stronger at the start of the season than last with him missing.

Right call. We’ve got plenty of attacking options to cover for him in the mean time. It’s best that we can get him back to his best!

Feet up at home.
Great as everyone has said he's been struggling far too long. Get well and come back even in November at full pelt.

If he's out through the month of October, it's approximately 10 league matches. Think he'd miss big matches against Liverpool, Leicester, Spurs.

There's more than adequate cover assuming Pogba is at the club, with Sancho, Martial, and James available to play the wide forward positions.

Good for him to get it done, allow his body to recover/rest, and build up more strength. He should be fresh going into the 2nd half of the season.

Really glad he's doing this. He needs to get back to full fitness and have a break from the spot light for a bit. Could cost us some points though early in the season, I hope someone's got a plan.

Sancho to get too comfortable on the left and eventually makes it his own. We go again in search of a new RW

Utterly infuriating and ridiculous that he went to the Euros for about 67 seconds of playing time.

He should have has this surgery months ago.

Good decision. Hopefully he can get back to his best. With him out we're probably going with Sancho - Cavani - Greenwood with Martial and James providing backup.

Good that it's finally being sorted but slightly annoying knowing his involvement at the Euros was minimal.

Correct decision, had to be done. Hope we'll see Amad getting the chance to step up in the beginning of the season

I wish he didn't go to the Euros and got this surgery done faster. Southgate waste his time as he never played him

Need to let his health team go, utter shambles this has been let to fester for so long.
Horrible body management from a supposedly world class club in advising their players.
Pogba for all the slack he got, took the time to get better and it showed, can't understand why Rashford didn't do the same.

Hardly going to be a big miss I mean Sorry, but why is Rashford rated here? He needs his bubble burst.

Not going and it becoming known he chose surgery to be fit for United's season is just chucking petrol on the dick head fire

Put this off only to end up as a villain to a section of silly English fans. Southgate grows some balls and he's put it off to become one of the very, very few footballers to win something with England.

Fine margins.

Mate you would have done the same to represent your country. Marcus is a very proud Englishman.
I don’t for one minute doubt that he is, but everyone knew he wasn’t fit and Southgate would have known he had no intention of using him so the sensible thing for all involved would have been communication to that effect to enable him to get the surgery he’s clearly needed for what feels like a good year.

Fecking Euros

It's best for him to get it out of the way though.
