Does it matter if Sancho hits the ground running on the left and Greenwood keeps performing as he finished last season? Rashford would have his work cut out to get back in.This is the steaming turd right in the middle of a potentially great transfer window.
We need him fit.
I can see what will happen here, Sancho will come in and play LW and will do well, then when Rashford comes back we will FOREVER have people saying we need to play Sancho left and drop Rashford.
Would have wanted them to all slot into their required positions from the off.
I agree with this. Shoulder aside, a month or two resting up could do him a power of good. I remember Ronaldo’s United career kicked up a notch after Fergie let him take some time off mid-season.He needs to do this.
He had a difficult tournament with England (on a personal level, not the team) and clearly struggled towards the end of last season.
If we get Sancho, then we shouldn't miss him too much and he can go and get himself sorted, physically and emotionally, coming back into the fold and ready to blast it before the busy Christmas period.
This is a young man that has been in the squad since a young age, barely had a rest and his body is clearly suffering. It would be eminently sensible not to keep kicking this can down the road and get it sorted ASAP. Now is the right time, especially if Sancho comes in.
Look after yourself Marcus, don't burn out. For our sake and your own.
So essentially Ole is pressurising a 23 year old lad with a likely chronic severe rotator cuff or ACJ issue into not having corrective surgery on a buggered shoulder which renders him at 60% of his productive best.Tweet

Yeah I suppose so. Was just hoping to have the players slot into the positions we need them and hit the ground running.Does it matter if Sancho hits the ground running on the left and Greenwood keeps performing as he finished last season? Rashford would have his work cut out to get back in.
Weird assumptions on your part there. If you had watched Rashford this season, you would not be saying so.So essentially Ole is pressurising a 23 year old lad with a likely chronic severe rotator cuff or ACJ issue into not having corrective surgery on a buggered shoulder which renders him at 60% of his productive best.
Just so that he’s available for a half dozen games after ole’s spent over £70m on a ready made replacement. Sounds like a great idea.

Yeh that’s a fair point. Maybe we should hope that Martial gets going and plays on the left again of Rashford is out allowing Greenwood to move up up and Sancho to stay on the right. The great news is we really do have some exceptional options this season. Really hope Greenwood kicks on and has a massive season.Yeah I suppose so. Was just hoping to have the players slot into the positions we need them and hit the ground running.
I’d prefer Greenwood start rotating at the striker position and have Sancho RW. The latter was bought for that position.
And a target for opponents aswell. People were yanking his arm/shoulder last season knowing it's weakJust do it. Just the niggling idea of having to 'protect his shoulder' means that mentally he'll always be holding back
Yeah the options we have now are excellent, I’m also desperate Mason has a massive season.Yeh that’s a fair point. What do you get when you combine a newbie and a Liverpool fan?So essentially Ole is pressurising a 23 year old lad with a likely chronic severe rotator cuff or ACJ issue into not having corrective surgery on a buggered shoulder which renders him at 60% of his productive best.

I imagine he’s getting it done, Ole is just using this “reflect” narrative to let him have a holiday in peace without people asking in October/November why he didn’t have the operation straight after the Euros and went on Holiday instead.Tweet

Wow, that's reaching. Where the hell did you get that from?So essentially Ole is pressurising a 23 year old lad with a likely chronic severe rotator cuff or ACJ issue into not having corrective surgery on a buggered shoulder which renders him at 60% of his productive best.

He did use him and if someone got injured he'd have used him more.I dont blame Rashford. I blame Southgate for not letting him know that he didnt plan on using him. England's attack was spoilt for riches, would have easily managed without him.
Barely. Come on.He did use him and if someone got injured he'd have used him more.
He did know, but he has an athletes mentality. He will always back himself to make his way in, even if he isn't the first choice - as he should. The average guy wouldn't be able to relate.I dont blame Rashford. I blame Southgate for not letting him know that he didnt plan on using him. If he was fit, I would have no problem. Ofcourse he should back himself. But knowing his form, and his multiple injuries, he should have done the smart thing. He did know, but he has an athletes mentality. Yup. If it's even a question, he should have it. He has along career ahead of him, no reason to worry about a few months. It is funny that last season Pogba went and had his operation and that was contrary to the advice given by the Utd staff and yet Ole was fine with him doing it and in hindsight it was the right move.
Stevie Wonder can see that Marcus is not right and I hope he does what is right for him as that will be the right thing for the club.
But then I'd this is true, then what would explain the dramatic decline in Rashford's mobility from being one of the most explosive players in the world to basically playing like a lamp post.Looks to me as if the club might not be convinced he needs it. It would certainly be logically consistent with the fact the medical staff also didn’t think he needed to miss any game time and why England’s medical staff thought he was ok to travel to the Euros and presumably be available to play every game should that have been Southgate‘s wish.
It’s not a huge conspiracy to suggest these aren’t the actions of top physios with a player carrying injury or injuries they’re strongly recommending need surgery.
