Rashy gets the number 9 at Villa.
Not sure if this is simply because Jhon vacated it or he will play as a 9

Looks like a "professional" who hasn't exercised in months. He looks unwell. I do wonder if stuff will come out eventually about what’s been going on.
The thing with football, especially when you're in a position like Rashford in this modern age of social media, it's unending pressure and critique. He is in perhaps a worse situation with everything surrounding him because a lot of fans feel let down and feel like he doesn't deliver on what he's supposed to. I think mentally Rashford probably finds it really hard and maybe is self medicating with Alcohol which is a slippery slope which will eventually affect your personal and professional life (as we've seen play out!).He looks unwell. It's almost like 18months of rancid form and horrific effort levels affected the price. So when there was that big debate on how much we could sell him for, we are struggling to sell him for 40m.

Sometimes clubs and players get themselves into situations they shouldn't be in and this is one such case. I really feel for Rashford but at the same time as a fan I'm disappointed in him and his actions, it's just such a weird thing because in life if you're bad at your job you get the criticism which can be bad enough, in his role because of the popularity of football, he gets it from all angles 24/7 and there must be a sprinkle of horseshit of lies and rumour in there too, imagine having that to deal with! I wouldn't be able to handle it personally, a lot of people probably couldn't handle it. It takes a lot of mental strength.
Listen to the likes of Beckham and Cantona, this was before the crazy age of social media we live in now. Now it is surely ramped up significantly. We've seen Rashford has previously come off social media so it is clear it is having an impact... probably a serious impact.
He's only been there 5 mins and he's already making himself sound ridiculous.
"I know when I'm playing at my best I can decide football games"
Surely he's in no position to make statements like that.
No, they don't have to do anything, but the thing is it's still there. Even if you are not on social media as a player, you'll know people will be spouting shite about you anyway, and that would also take a toll. It's an occupational hazard and you can't really avoid it to be honest, but it doesn't stop it from being hard and on a human level I sympathise with all the players. Even back in the day before social media, you still got pelters from the media, but at least it wasn't a constant unending stream like it is now.I agree with a lot of that but here is a stupid question, do they have to be on social media? Especially if it’s having this kind of detrimental effect?
I don’t know how we got to a point where it is a given that one needs to be using these tools as if they are a necessity of life.
It's not a lie. Just we hardly see his best anymore. He's only been there 5 mins and he's already making himself sound ridiculous.

He has shown he can be this player, it was just a long time ago now and there's questions as to whether he can become that again. Hopefully he does. He's only been there 5 mins and he's already making himself sound ridiculous.

What did he mean? He was training in the wrong place or?Yeah I really didn't understand where Rooney was coming from on that, he seemed to explain it really badly and (as is so often the case on the Overlap) it wasn't really picked apart. It didn't help that Keano was interrupting every three seconds either.
That’s not an option, right? Because in that scenario Villa just exercise the 40m option. Then they hold onto a striker who is doing well for them, with a possibility of selling him on for serious money the next transfer window if his good form continues. There’s basically no chance we sell him to anyone other than Villa unless it’s for <£40m.
Human mind is so interesting. Different people will be looking at the same images and see totally different things depending on what they want to see.
I don’t know how anyone can look at him and see someone who hasn’t exercised in months

No this debate was earlier this season, Rashford fans for the most part are not in reality. It's almost like 18months of rancid form and horrific effort levels affected the price.
I suppose it's more the way we paid 40m for Zirkzee, whose top level doesn't seem much different from Rashy's bottom level. No this debate was earlier this season, Rashford fans for the most part are not in reality.

Could you see Rashford? What he did 3 years ago is irrelevant now.I suppose it's more the way we paid 40m for Zirkzee, whose top level doesn't seem much different from Rashy's bottom level.
I can't ever see Zirkzee having the season Rashy did 2 years ago.
No, buy options are tied to pre-contracts. Hypothetically, if Villa decide to ignore what he wants and trigger the buy option, there's nothing he can do about it. They don't need his agreement, it's just stupid to sign a player who doesn't want to play for you. That said, if there's a third club willing to sign him and go over the £40m fee, Villa can trigger the option and then sell himVilla exercising their 40mill option depends on Rashford actually wanting to sign for them, it's not like they can force him to sign just because they've pre-agreed a fee with us.
Sorry if it came across wrong fella. I just thought it was a talking point that it was even as wrong/embarrassing by someone like the Roonster.
I suppose it is how you look at it. Personally if I hadn't heard the Rooney bit I would say it was wholesome and really good that our pro's spent that kind of time with the kids.
I could also be wrong and this but wasn't what Rooney was specifically referring to. However he made a lot about Marcus being alone practicing near kids and parents.
Guess you also have more and more hypotheses like strikers' ketchup bottles and whatnotThe thing with football, especially when you're in a position like Rashford in this modern age of social media, it's unending pressure and critique. Hitting it with something soft and fluffy? Who’s been briefing journos that he won’t be playing again for MUFC?He looks like he's been hitting the gym
Have to admit I'm a bit heartbroken...there were obvious reasons why it all went down the Toilet with United and Rashford. But it shouldn't have ended like this.
Yep...I think everyone involved is to blame here.Agreed. Particularly looking back at all the old montages of Rashford, the pictures of his childhood dreams etc. -- sadness is the overwhelming feeling for me right now. In another reality, he should have been the face of our club through a period of success.
Me too. I hate it when a player who has been with us since he was a kid leaves. I'm sure there's much we're not being told about this. An on-form Rashford is a huge upgrade on Zikzee and Hojland but he hasn't shown his top form for a while now. Good luck to him at Villa.Have to admit I'm a bit heartbroken...there were obvious reasons why it all went down the Toilet with United and Rashford. But it shouldn't have ended like this.
Is he?Sancho goes on loan from United to Chelsea and is now doing better. If Antony and Rashford are going to be great, when they are out on loan, is this then an indication that the problem does not necessarily lie ONLY with the players?
