What are people's thoughts here on, I can't remember what the hell it is called, one of the Scandinavian countries did it - you get a livable monthly salary whether you work or not, whether you want to work or not.
Initially I was totally against it, but hearing about some of the poverty in the UK - which as I haven't truly seen it - I find it hard to fathom and relate to -- I am getting to the point where I could support it. I read a BBC article about how it had improved the mental health of a lot of people who had been struggling, but unfortunately the Swedes or whoever did it - stopped it.
We really should not be having people not affording meals - and struggling and worrying.

is a great book on working and not surviving that I read a few years back.
People's thoughts on all this poverty and inequity.
I'm a die hard capitalist - but my ideas are / have changed.
