Rashford | Villa don’t have priority | sell price is set at 40m

I dont think he's even good enough for them, like if he pushes them then maybe. he will never reach his top level to play for us though. Meanwhile it's great he started producing for them so they can splash out money for him. 40mil and his wages off our books will be a huge boost for us.

Sancho - 25
Rashford - 40
Antony - 20
Casemiro - 15
Hojlund - 35

Lindelof+Eriksen (wages)

135m + 100m provided = 235m. That is 4 quality players for the rebuild, possibly 5 if we are smart enough.

+ Amad back, and hopefully 2 out of 3 from Mount, Shaw, Martinez, overcome injuries.. and we can have a decent squad..
There's zero prospect that we're selling Hojlund, likewise no one is going to pay a transfer fee for Casemiro.

It's only Preston but hopefully this fires him up and he starts scoring. We know he can score when his head's in it, we know he can hit streaks where it just feel inevitable that he'll bag one or two, so I'm hoping that happens and he can fetch us a healthy sum, as we also know that version doesn't tend to last for very long.

I saw his comments yesterday where he said that he’s been getting fitter and that it’s giving him confidence and he’s enjoying playing football again

Which means that he wasn’t enjoying life at United, and wasn’t as fit as he could have been

I wouldn't reach too much into what Rashford says. He is better at talking off the pitch than delivering on it. In the last year we have seen him post about doubt me or back me...

When Amorim took charge, he was the first one to mention "top sesh".

Rashford is always fired up when he is doubted etc... then he gets complacent and back to old ways.

Quiet in here

Heh. Rashford fanboys really are a piece of work. All I wish is he would go on a hot streak until end of the season so we maximize a sell fee and get a better player instead. For people thinking he is somehow validating his quality lets be real. He had his chance at United over and over again, sulking, not tracking back, not giving any effort whatsoever. He can feck off.

I don’t disagree but I was thinking more along the lines of if that’s how he feels, there was nobody stopping him from getting much fitter at United

Agreed. Anyone who wants to give Rashford another chance is a lettuce short of a salad. The lad is only interested in self promotion.

Yep, I do find it strange when footballer's say, I am fitter now etc.. just shows he was negligent during his time?

I wonder if there is clauses in the players contracts that injury free, they need to hit a certain fitness level?

No matter how much you train, you need games - he specifically mentioned missing a lot of football

Well if he didn’t walk around looking half arsed he may have got more

You’re intent on doing whatever it is you’re doing - I’m not trying to change your mind - simply saying he was referring to how game time is improving his fitness because he was specific about it

As expected, some will try to find reasons to excuse his lack of effort here and prefer to blame the club, and literally anyone but Rashford himself.

I just hope he does enough at Villa to make them activate that option to buy.

Yeah, Rashford has to accept the buy condition though. Will he do that, given the contract they offer him will likely be lower than what he's on now?

He was a automatic starter for years and in the last few seasons outside of a one freak season we was shite for not months but seasons. So gametime excuse is not gonna cut it.

Shows what happens when he gets out of our circus.

Or something.

If he'd bothered putting in the effort in training and steered clear of going out on the town a few days before games, he'd likely have a similar goals/assist per game contribution for United as we are seeing at Villa.

He's nowhere near 22/23 form obviously, and he'll never be an elite player at this stage, but he's not really over-performing what you'd expect from him when motivated.

I did find it funny when he said he wasn't fully fit as he hadn't played much before the move. No mention from him and no question from the interviewer regarding who's fault that was.

He'd have been a useful player for us over the past couple of seasons if he had been interested in putting in the work required.

It’s pretty obvious that he completely downed tools as soon as he was benched. In contrast to Garnacho who seems to have responded much more positively to the challenge laid down.

He’s made clear that he’s not going to bad-mouth United though, so hardly surprising there was no mention of it. Regardless of the actual right and wrongs, I think it’s a fair assumption that Rashford doesn’t agree that he’s solely to blame and I’m not sure why we’d want to encourage more negative press. The best solution for all is that he does well at Villa for the rest of the season.

I don’t know what you’re trying to say here. Rashford has +100 goals for United. So he wasn’t just an automatic starter and not doing anything. Like, many/any player his form has fluctuated and he hasn’t been of the quality United wanted him to be for a while, but his best scoring season was like two years ago.

None of the above is relevant to him saying that he missed a lot of football this season and he’s getting fitter with the match time he’s getting now. Excuse for what? He was speaking about himself/performances for Villa.

Why do people lose all the ability to comprehend when Rashford’s involved?

Can we lock this thread for good once he's sold outright? I'm sick of hearing about the lazy, selfish prick.

People wanted him out of the club. The guy is out the club. What’s the need to act like scorned ex-lovers?

The guy isn’t/hasn’t bad mouthed United. Villa is seemingly happy with him/his contributions - isn’t this all upside for United?

You'd think so.

It is no surprise that players like Rashford and Antony have gone away and are performing.

This comes down to a weak mentality, they strolled around at utd picking up their huge wage without breaking sweat, more so Rashford.

Just cos he scored 2 goals against Preston doesnt make him prime Ronaldo. He was shocking for England and hasnt really done much for Villa.
Will never forgive him for downing tools for a team he says he loves.

He says this every 3 months

He’s not saying anything we don’t know. He hadn’t played for months - so of course he wasn’t enjoying that, and didn’t have match fitness.

Nothing wrong with what he’s said.

Ah yeah of course. I just found it amusing that they were ignoring the elephant in the room.

FFS. He's talking about the weeks he was training but not playing and is now back playing at Villa so he's had to work himself back to match fitness. No one is talking about any season before now regarding that. Stop looking to take out your angert at him over nonsense where you're posting irrelevance.

I comprehend just fine. There is no sugarcoating his lack of effort however some would like to spin it.

Riight, as displayed by you randomly start talking about previous seasons and perceived lack of effort - when his comments were about his lack of match fitness/rhythm at Villa due to the amount of football he missed. Trying to pivot to "you guys are trying to spin it!" doesn't really do a great job at showcasing the aforementioned comprehension skills. What he said was pretty easy to understand.

Rashford replaced on 70+ mins. The way he strolls about on the pitch is criminal. I reckon he wants to be subbed off. Emery should have seen it long before. Players like McGinn who run their bollocks off wont want be wanting him in the dressing room. No way Villa are going to do a deal!

Bit annoying the only other suitor have just seen first hand that he can’t really be arsed

Decent first half — held the ball up well, linked play nicely, and played a key role in the goal.

Faded in the second half, though, much like the rest of the Villa side.

I thought maybe he was depressed.

But if he thinks he's getting in that PSG team ahead of Kvara or Doue he's delusional
