Should we sell or reintegrate Rashford to the United squad?

Its alright, we struggled so far along amd what is another season. The giggles of watching sancho, rashford jogging and scoring 12 goals each again u18s whilst missing out on WC would be hillarious.

I just read that he has 3 fecking years left on his insane contract..

We are never going to get rid of him..
Amazing isn’t it? He knew he could get that with just 3 months of purple patch.

Sigh i wish so badly we were dealing with just poor form. I think too many of us would permit him more grace period as a local lad. But that it's the attitude just makes this all that much worse..

The ironic thing with all this is we may have gained a few million climbing a place by winning against Villa but we ended up destroying any possible potential transfer deal with them in the process.

He wouldn't have gone, it wouldn't fit with his self image.

Do you mean destroying the deal because the loss hit them hard financially?

Gosh that contract was a crime, the annoying thing is his salary is only earned by the best of the best in Europe, like Vini, Dembele and Kane, he is by far the worst top earner in Europe

Villa were never gonna pay up for him.

He’s only worth what the market is willling to pay, pointless debating whether it’s 40m or not. Based on the interest in him, he’s worth nothing. I’m not sure I’d pay anywhere near to 40m for him, plus the wages he’s going to command.

What a waste, should have been so much more!

doesn’t seem to be a big queue for him does there?

Need to play hard ball with him though. Get yourself out permanently or stay in reserves and miss out on WC.

Shame he doesn’t have a decent agent and uses his brother.

Has any one ever heard stories of clubs having to pay player contracts off before they sell? I’ve never come across this with any other club but United.

Both Rashford and Sancho aren’t going to leave because of their ridiculous contracts. Same as Casemiro, Mount, Shaw and Maguire. It’s scandalous how much money was offered to these players and we won’t even get a transfer fee back for any of them.

I get frustrated when you see people in the transfer threads being like ‘we will get £40m for Rashford and £30m for Sancho, with PSR that means we can spend £150m’. We will buy Mbeumo and then be stuck until players are sold. That’s why it’s so frustrating to see the club focus on 2 10s when we need a ST, CM and GK.

I think Rashford will go and we’ll end up subsidising his wages. Say a club offers us £35million and gives Rashford 150k which seems fair- we’ll pay the difference in his lost wages. I doubt he’s on more than 250k now with the lack of European football so over three years that’s around 15million we’d owe him meaning we come out around 20 million up. The only way we will get rid!

I would happily take the net (after wage pay-off) 20m. Unfortunately, Rashford seems quite fixated on the idea of playing for Barca and they are not going to pay any money for him. Looks like a loan with us subsidizing part of his wages again.

I’d bite your hand off for that deal right now

Don’t get why we should have to subsidise his wages. The principle is just so wrong. If he wants to play football then he needs to go. Surely the prospect of coming back when he’s not welcome is enough motivation for him to find a deal?
I think he's way more about the money.

United are universally adored legend.

And will only lower his demand wages if he goes to Barca who with the Diaz inquiry don't want him.
I fear United will need to help pay for his wages no matter the club he goes to sadly.

It is insane,1 good season in 10 and the former board gifts this guy 350k p/w. And the guy stops trying.

Yes it sure does. You would think a local lad would care about the club and fans to atleast give 100% while getting rich.

Where is this 350k p/w figure coming from? Everywhere I'm seeing he's on 300k p/w or are we doing what the rags do and include bonuses? Assuming the -25% for no CL is in effect too wont he be on closer to 225k? Still ridiculous but we gave Mount 250k p/w (not including the -25% for CL)

When you dislike a player then the wages they're on also go up

Even more reason to sell him sooner rather than later. What we can get this summer, we will only half that next summer.

Half of zero is zero mate I think we need to be realistic here if we want him out this summer. I don’t think anyone is giving us a fee and we’ll just get a loan deal unless we drop our demands to zero or close to it. That’s just how I see it but I think we’ll be contractually stuck with him for the duration otherwise, like Sancho.

There’s zero interest in buying him

Arsenal paid off Ozil, Aubameyang and Pepe. We were actually obligated to pay off Willian too as he had a year left on his contract, but he waived it. He said something to the effect of, “I’ve earned enough money in my career and I’m going to keep playing so it doesn’t make sense for me to demand money from the club”. Which was good of him.

It does happen occasionally. Edu got quite a bit of stock from some impatient members of our fanbase. But I think he was proven right eventually.

That's really cool, nice to see

No point in having talent if you don’t work hard. If he was a helluva of a player clubs would be clamoring to sign him since he is available for cheap.
Rashford is a distressed asset. Some manager will eventually buy him on the cheap. He'll go somewhere not under pressure (because he was cheap , expectations will be low) and then his offense will explode again. Talent never really goes away. He will find his game again.

Saudi was snubbed again today Victor Osimhen. Maybe they would be interested. They'd take the full salary and 40 mill no problem.

I don't think he's really got a game to find any more. His threat was largely based on pace and once that goes (as it did about 2004 with M*****l O**n) then you haven't got much to fall back on. His lack of pace now is quite shocking, compared to how lightning fast he used to be, whether that is through not training properly or just age and injuries taking a toll.

Against Ipswich he had a 50-50 ball chase in the left channel alongside Morsy I think, a regular player, not amazingly athletic, and he came second. He hasn't got it any more, but we'd better keep that quiet as somebody in Europe might want the 2019 version.

Barcelona is so broke they can't even pay their players their wages without levers. I am not optimistic about him getting sold if that is the only club he wants.

Yeah have they got any levers left to pull to sign him

Let’s hope he an Al Hilal get desperate today and they make things happen.

Still gutted he turned down Saudi in the summer

Maybe Al Hilal can buy a player from Barca to make room for Rashford

The club should contact Rashford with the news that he is going to be receiving his new shirt for the next season. Arrange for the press to be outside his house when it arrives in a chaufered limousine. A burly security guard takes out a big box with a red ribbon and rings his doorbell.

Rashy comes to the door and is asked by the press to "open it up Marcus!" - He sheepishly takes a while to undo the ribbon, requiring help from journalist Henry Winter to deal with the bow.

He finally pulls out the new shirt to a chorus of camera flashes that capture his face as the shirt is revealed with his name on the back with his new squad number....99!

Queue Headlines in next days paper....

"99 Problems..."
"Rashford Flakes out!"
and
"Rashford Heartache" by Henry Winter, writing in whatever rag he can find will run his stuff this week.

If we loan him out then we need to make sure it's to one of the foreign leagues where he''ll look good against the crappy sides. Here in the PL he will quickly get found out.

Only the Saudis could possibly want to sign him.

Based on today's market, 40M is not too much to ask for right? This price has already considered he is on very high salary. Otherwsie he would costs about 60M?

He is still relatively young and PL proven. He has done very well on loan at Villa. He is also back to England squad as starter for LW.

It's really shocking that there is no taker considering we are asking for a very reasonable price. Give and take maybe close the deal at 30M. It's very hard to get this quality with 30M-40M nowadays.

It’s really not. You have put on a very positive spin. Even after that, tell me how many clubs can actually afford his wages? Forget about the fee for a second, who can afford his wages? Only a handful of clubs, right?
Let’s see, In the PL forget about city and Liverpool. Arsenal don’t want him, Chelsea don’t sign old players and are looking to sign Gittens. Newcastle have the likes of Gordon.
Now Europe, Madrid? Hahaha. Barca are broke. PSG have shifted their policy. The whole Serie A survives on loan. Bayern have no interest in Rashy. So tell me who can afford him and his wages?

Other than Saudi or a loan i see him going nowhere especially for a decent fee.

It was reported he was willing to take paycut to join Barca. Barca can work out something especially with their endless lever or player sales.

Villa was also an option but it was reported Rashford rejected them. Some PL clubs could also be interested and afford his salary especially structured in a way of reduced signing fees of 30M-40M.
