Good performance and hopefully that assist will help him with confidence. Still frustrating with his finishing but hope that can be changed when he finally does score.

He played really well, yeah he didn't score but it was another game in which he showed his capability to hold the ball up, was making runs to help the team to draw defenders away and make himself available as always. Loved his combinations with Bruno and Zirkzee.

Love the fact he got an assist, hopefully give him a boost.

its like he doesn't know how to shoot anymore. First half lucky to get a penalty and second half he scuffed his chance. Still got an assist which should do him good and really looked like he was trying out there.

Could have scored twice. Selfish of Bruno to take the penalties.
What a poor take, genuinely. An equalizer and a penalty that’s potentially winning the tie is when you need your best and most proven penalty taker.

If we were to get that last penalty of Dorgu (we shouldn’t have, just to be clear), when the game is already won — sure.

Wish I could buy the guy a goal, the relief he will feel when he finally scores will be immense. Thought he did really well tonight.

Worked his socks off, won many duels, created a goal. The only missing element was a goal but even if he doesn't score, as long as he still contributes, I will not criticize him

He played like he was pissed off and needed to prove a point today and it showed so much about him. At the end you're begging for a goal to go in for in just because.

If he could play with a fire lit up his backside every game he'd be something

It's baffling how a same player can drop such a different performances on the spectrum in span of a week.

I don't know what they put in his tea before the match, but I hope they've got a very large jar of it. Excellent, worked hard, didn't hide, just that lack of confidence showing in a couple of scuffs.

He played well, much better than he has for a while, but still showcased his biggest weakness, which is that he doesn't have a striker's instinct. Zirkzee's header across goal should have been a tap in for him but his poor anticipation cost him the opportunity.

Maybe we can get someone in to work on that with him, as he's got the physical tools, which he demonstrated really well today.

Much better but still a weak point in the team. It does seem to show that he might do ok in Spain though, so opens up a further loan opportunity.

I wouldn’t read much into tonight. He needs to build on that against Leicester, which is as easy a test as he will get at premier league level.

Played better today but mans is still buns. Needs to be loaned to a La Liga club. I think he’d actually do well at La Real

Better in Europe as it's less of a physical game, like much of our team to be fair.

He desperately needs a goal for his confidence though. Guy is our main striker game in game out and hasn't scored in 3 months...

Needs a goal so very badly. Im not convinced he’s a PL starter but he could probably be a decent squad player off the bench. Shame we spent so much but I like his hunger.

Don't wanna sound negative but I think he was excellent today because the opponent's general tempo was slower than in the EPL. Similar to Casemiro. That's why I always thought he'd do well if we loan him out to a Spanish or German team. I was still hoping for him to award himself with a goal for a fantastic game and get confidence back. We could need an in-form Hojlund regardless.

Other than not scoring, Rasmus put in a solid shift. As everyone else has already written, he just needs that one goal for the dam to break.

He scored 21 games ago and no dam broke. Why would it be different whenever he next scores?

Just feels like delusion by those who refuse to accept he'll never be good enough.

Found him a lot more today. Just a shame he didn't bag a goal. Did pretty much everything else tonight. Solid performance by Hojlund.
You don’t see that he worked the line far better and was therefore available to pass to? If he doesn’t do the first bit, the second is highly unlikely to follow. Hopefully something clicks and he gets it into his head that this is the better way to play than to try and wrestle and be mostly static.

He’s the factor in change; the team around him not so much.

Slower tempo and less physical centerbacks, definitely. He put in a really good performance, but we haven’t seen that in the league in a long, long time.

Yeah, lot of the balls went to him yesterday and he won a lot of duels too, shame he cant score. Hopefully he'll do it soon.

The goals will come, he was very good.
Almost got a goal had it not been for the defender fouling him for the open goal.

He was good enough last night. A performance like that every game and he's helping us.

Positive performance. That being said he already proved in the Danish, Austrian and Italian league that he is pretty useful against weaker teams. If someone gives us 40-50 Mio I would let him go as he is not a good fit for what Amorim wants to see on the pitch.

Yeah even if he scores this magical goal, I don't see it being a catalyst for him hitting form. He simply won't ever be prolific, you'd have seen the potential for that by this age. He has far too many gaps in his game. Even the penalty one I could see him missing the chance.

I’m sorry but if you somehow think we are getting anywhere near 40-50m for him you’re deluded.

Much, much better. It reminded me of his first season, where even if he didn’t score, he’d keep running and causing a nuisance. Still areas of improvement, but much better than what we’ve seen so far this season.

Or maybe some people just want him to fail, so they can say they were right.

He seemed alot more involved last night, he was even winning headers and successfully winning duels. Maybe the chat with Peter Schmeichel helped? He'll score against Leicester and the floodgates will be open.

I would say his best overall performance for the season.

I have been very critical of Hojlund this season but what he showed yesterday is a minimum requirement for a ST. Held the ball alot better, made channel runs and linked up play really well.

Its clear he is very anxious infront of goal, hopefully he scores one, just to see what happens, will it be a one off or will the flood gates open?

With the limited funds this summer, looks like Amorim is trying his hardest to make Hojlund work. If he can show that he has something about him for next season, we can use him as a backup.

That was his best performance for us in a long time, worked really hard and got into better positions.

However he's just not clinical enough in front of goal, he really has to be taking those chances, especially around 4 or 5yds where he just seems to react slightly slower than the defenders.

Hopefully that can be improved on the training pitch but strikers instinct and speed of thought is what separates the average players from good & great ones
