Happy to see Rasmus finally scoring tonight! I thought that he was decent tonight and hopefully this goal will bost his confidence and form for the remainder of the season.

These last two games have been so much better overall from him. It’s poor opposition, though, so let’s see how does in our difficult run coming up.

I actually like him (even though lost a bit of optimism in the last months) and I think, his finish was very good, I am a little worried about his celebration. I guess it was a lot of pressure falling off of him but it reaked of a worrying amount of obliviousness to do this celebrations after not scoring for more than 20 games on the bounce. I guess, thats a bit of "old man yelling at clouds" but I such moments make me unsure whether the players really know what kind of performances they have delivered the whole season over...

He has put in the work the last few games and got his reward tonight. The work comes first.

Both he and Garna ended their droughts. Hopefully, they both kick on now for the Europa League.

Very pleased to see him get the goal his efforts have deserved.

I was expecting him to go on a bit of a run once he finally got one - in that respect, the international break maybe comes at a bad time as we don't play again until April!

Though a couple of big games for Denamrk before then so interesting to see how he does in that double header v Portugal.

Yeah, I felt that even more for Garnacho. Maybe I'm just old too.

Well, you can stop worrying then. He’s never been arrogant or self absorbed, quite the contrary, and explicitly said that he’s been disappointed in himself in his post match interview.
Let the man celebrate ffs

That really was a well taken goal, even more so when you consider his confidence must be extremely low.

Hopefully he carries this upturn in form and finishes the campaign strongly.

He gives me the spoiled kid sindrome vibe.

Dont think he is fully aware of his weaknesses.

Goal was very good, performance not really.

Best thing he could do for us is go on a trade for Oshimen.

What did he do that wasn't 'right' in his celebration?

Only video I could find unless there's something more afterwards?

Nice run and finish, wee bit of confidence now and he could get a few more.

Still think he can come good.

Great finish, very much like the ones he put away last year on his weak foot. Hopefully he starts to kick on from his second season slump!

I don't know if it is something popular from a music video or Fortnite or something. It was a gesture I know partly from Gladiator, the moment where the Imperator posts a thumb up or down, up means mercy for the defeated in a gladiator battle in a colloseum, thumb down means the defeated will be killed off by the winner. Hojlund made the thumbs down gesture and added something along the lines of slit a throat, indicating a reference for a killer I guess.

Again, nothing wrong with stuff like that. But it surely doesn't fit in the situation because he hasn't shown anything that he would be a coldhearted killer, even in a transfered sense to football. It just feels increndibly unfitting. Again, I realize that there probably was a lot of pressure falling off of him. And probably it means nothing. I still noticed it. I think others in the match thread did as well.

Jesus wept.

He just liked the Gladiator film and enjoys doing that celebration.

Was a brilliant goal for a player so low on form and confidence, fair play to him.

Much better performance and great finish, hopefully he can continue more along the lines of the last 2 games. Would be good to have him as a reliable rotation striker and help develop him behind a quality striker.

Moaning about something trivial like a celebration. Jeez.
Jesus wept.

Moaning about a post that did as good of a job as possible to make sure to give the player all possible leeway is way better I guess. This place really starts to drain me... I'd understand it if I had placed a one liner about his dumb celebration on here but didn't to make sure, that it isn't perceived as blunt moaning. Not enough for some tender souls I guess.

edit: has he mentioned the Gladiator reference in an interview earlier? Never noticed that celebration. But not a shock, I mean its been a while without him needing it.

Great ball control, and super finishing with weaker foot for the goal.

Noticed that he didn’t ALWAYS try to control the ball on long pass, but tried to pass it first time. It could work to cover his weakness on ball control, and less of him being ‘abused’ by opponent centerback.

Did 2 people point out that you're a bit silly for going into excruciating detail about a goal celebration based on a movie to find a way to criticise a player? Poor thing, I'm sorry you feel drained.

He's done that celebration for his last 5 goals or so. Starting when Gladiator 2 came out.

I'll just ignore that. I just said that I don't know the gesture from a movie, sorry that I had to explain what I mean.

edit: I know the second part from Wrestling I think, wasn't it Goldberg who'd do it?

So not too long ago. Seems like I didn't miss anything then and me being irritated is perfectly reasonable. (because it can be even if it wasn't irritating to you)

It's okay if you're wrong based on ignorance, sure. I'd suggest you try to understand something before letting it irritate you to such a degree in future but that's just a piece of friendly advice.

Help me, what am I wrong about? You think I am wrong about being a bit irritated by Hojlunds celebration?

Nice to see him get his goal. I was a little irrationally annoyed with him because his failure to hold the ball up led to Leicester's move that brought about Heaven's injury. However, despite many wanting him sold, I feel that we need to keep him next season as backup to a more established number 9.

Inappropriate Behavior
Just answer the question. Or have you noticed that an opinion on something will never be wrong?

I've answered it you freak.

If you aren't able to tell that I think your opinion is wrong, uninformed and idiotic then I'm not sure that you are qualified to partake the act of conversation.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion and some people, present company included. Hold opinions that are absolutely moronic.

At the end of the day your reasoning is basically 'he's not been good enough' or ergo 'the club hasn't been good enough in the past 11 years' therefore whatever you're feeling or being triggered (by him, the club or other players) is in some way justified. I mean I get it. I just don't think it's a particularly healthy relationship with watching the club and this forum.

I can be sympathetic and think 'this 20 year old kid was thrusted to be the no.9 of the biggest club in the world, in the most watched league playing in a highly dysfunctional team. He deserves plenty of justified criticism but I understand why if he the needs to be arrogant/confident and not need to show humility/meekness in his worse period of form by doing a stupid celebration'.

Then the other train of thought i.e you, can be like 'he's been shit though, I don't like cocky celebrations'. You're not 'wrong' in feeling the way you do. Just understand it's a bit clinical and probably rubs people the wrong way.

Btw I recall you was annoyed by his celebration last year when he held his hand to ear. It's deffo a you thing and that's cool I guess but again don't be surprised if people reply with 'why bro?'.

What? Not at all. WTF?! I was noticing a celebration that I thought was out of place. Thats all.

Mate, seriously. I made an effort twice to make sure me mentioning this behaviour cannot be seen as some sort of damning verdict on the player. I didn't even call the celebration stupid. FFS. Is there a chance that some of you are so eager to get into arguments?

Thanks for telling me my feelings are ok.

Was I? Don't remember to be honest. Has nothing to do with me not liking the player or anything like that. And just for the record - I have no issue with people asking "why bro?" (even though I thought, I made a reasonable effort to give context in two posts) but the reaction was "moaning" and "jesus wept". I am sure, you see a difference, right?

:+1:

Pretty sure that tells us more about you than about me. I took the time to report that post.

Your schtick of over the top petty criticism of players followed by "hey guys I'm just talking here" is incredibly boring.

Don't worry, I won't cause you the need to totally reasonably use the report function any more. I'll chuck you on the ignore list to make sure you have a nice time doing whatever it is you are doing here.
