Whether he is the answer here, I am very happy for him. There is no chance that the last few months haven't felt like the weight of the world. His outlook is probably a bit brighter now.

Ronaldo right now:

If he has a decent end to season and scores a few it would be a huge mistake for the club to not prioritise an elite striker who is a proven goal scorer. I'm sorry but nothing I've seen yet indicates this man is capable of leading the line, maybe as a back up he will be ok.

I can not believe Reddit, the likes of the Man Utd forum are delighted he's scored in the past 2 games, ignoring all the games he did not score and some of those shockers he missed. Service and confidence only take you so far, the truly class players find a way to perform.

That Denmark goal was barely more than a tap in?

Yeah why would they be delighted a strugglinh United player is finally scoring....

It's not about that, it's more a 'I told you so' to his quality as a Man Utd starting striker.....I'm just saying I don't think he's even close to proving himself at at that level personally. Seems like a good kid none the less.

Glad for the boy but man stop these stupid celebrations.
Not that we got to see them that often but Hojlund, Zirkzee and Garnacho have some of the stupiest celebrations I have ever seen.

People are morons. No matter if you want him sold or not, it's great that he's scoring a few goals.

Well, maybe that’s because the “blame it all on Hojlund”-clique has been saying “I told you so” since he came here. If they want balance they need to show it by not constantly shitting on him.
It’s not that these last games prove that he’s ready to lead the line here - but it does prove that his scoring crisis cannot be explained by his lack of quality alone. He needs to get the ball in the channels and a team that can create chances for him. That’s what’s happened these last few games.

Also, could we please stop the fake news that he’s missed a lot of sitters? The criticism of him was that he didn’t find the right positions and thus didn’t get chances. Now it seems some fans are making up chances he never got. The one thing nobody should doubt is his finishing. His xg is criminal this season and we can argue how much of that should be attributed to him or the team but he’s not missing many big chances.

Probably been his best 3 game stretch of the season in terms of form, hopefully things are starting to turn around for him. Let's see if he can follow-up with another good performance on Sunday heading into an important stretch of fixtures for United with the derby + Lyon games coming up, would be perfect timing for him to return to being a goal threat.

No reason to be happy for a player that's scored a couple of goals and looks to be gaining some confidence. Disgraceful that people want to see him do well.

What a miserable outlook - because they're off form, do you not want our players to take any joy when they do in fact score (which is the aim of the game)?

Fans being delighted is very different from them being all smug and going 'I told you so'.

While I agree with your second post, your initial post suggests outrage at fans being delighted that in a team with a strikeforce struggling for goals, their young striker has started to pick up goals.

Some fans just want to be miserable.. I dont see why anyone would be critical for players scoring goals. That poster must have a very gloom outlook on life when he is questioning 21/22 year olds celebrating goals.

Football is a game. The celebrations are an expression of joy, a release of happiness. Don’t be so miserable!!

If he achieves 10% of what Cristiano has, he'll be massively successful.
I certainly hope he does! He meant the siuuu as act of respect.

Some light praise given to a player you've written off isn't an attack on you ffs. Check your ego.

Agreed. Whatever ends up happening with Hojlund, it's never nice to see a young player have to deal with the level of scrutiny and pressure he's had in the last few months.

He looked a bit better against Sociedad and Leicester. Hopefully that carries through after the international break and he can stop playing within himself.

Such a streaky goalscorer which would suggest confidence plays such a massive part in his game. Young player having such responsibility at a huge club means that can erode quite quickly. Someone raised a good point on here that it's almost a shame for him that Bruno is so good at penalties as many other strikers have that up their sleeve to stop goal droughts getting out of hand and topping up the self esteem in the process.
It’s 2 goals in 2 games a streak now? I’d call it an anomaly after the dry run he’s had.

I really liked that Rasmus banged that late winner to win us the Europa League. Just wish he hadn’t enjoyed himself too much when celebrating. Stinks of what the youth of today are like.

Wish you had been around when Lee Sharpe was playing.

Let players celebrate. Just because you have a lack of enjoyment doesn’t mean everyone should.

Last season he went ages without a goal at the start and then scored 7 in 6 in the league. This season when Amorim came in he scored in 3 on the bounce I think. After the latest goal drought he's looking like he's playing with much more confidence in the last 2-3 games and it wouldn't surprise me if he goes on another run of scoring this next while.

2 goals and 1 assist in last 3 games. Hopefully he's going to have a strong finish to the season.

That celebration though - feel that Portugal are going to beat them in 2nd game with Ronaldo scoring the decisive goal and then celebrating like that of course

Lack of enjoyment can also be a celebration

And who can forget the level of meltdown from some people when Garna opted not to celebrate because he had been criticized. Scoring a goal for United is almost a lose/lose proposition when it comes to celebrating with some of the miserable gits on social media always waiting to pounce.

This club has seen some great anti-celebrations in it’s time:
