Fed off of scraps again, absolutely none of that can be on him tonight.
This again? I thought that this shit died months ago.

How can you say that when half of our team manage to be at the end of those "scraps" except him? Please, watch last 15-20 minutes again and you will notice how he was 5 or 6 times one step late on cross/pass.

I actually didn't think he was that bad. His play on the ball was much better today. Found some really nice passes I thought.

You are obviously watching a completely different feed than some of us as I saw his teammates consistently fail to play the obvious ball to him when he was open despite a lot of our best work in the second half coming from his hold up play. With regards to Maguire looking more dangerous, it is pretty easy when the opposition does not account for you, look again and you will see the defenders marking Hojlund allowing the space for Maguire.

Didn't do much but had one great sequence but unfortunately ended at Garnacho's who surprisingly tried to shoot through a defender for the billionth time in the game

Decent cameo. When striker comes on and you're losing you need him to either score or create a chance for someone else which he didn't do but also Forest are really difficult to break.

Don't think Hojlund was great, wasn't as terrible as made out in here and if, if Maguire could have squared the ball on his off the line shot then Hojlund had a tap in.

Positioning maybe, but his instincts of heading it to the side of an open net isn't great

edit: the quote I responded to didn't show up for some reason.

You cannot say that, today the story is that Maguire is prime Rooney reincarnated as it fits the agenda.

That's because Maguire had to play up there to do Hojlund's one job, getting on the end of balls in the box. When even a CB is more threatening It tells us a half competent forward could have had a goal or assist opportunity in 5 mins of play.

Our attacking play is much more potent than our forwards lead people to believe.

Sometimes I cannot help but to wonder where he will play in two year's time. He is a poor championship player. Maybe in FC Copenhagen?

Right, "if, if Maguire could have squared the ball on his off the line shot then Hojlund had a tap in."...

Even if it is, it means nothing.
The manager is catching flack for his system and the players get the same for not supplying him. It also matches the eyetest that he's allergic to finding the ball in the box. Maguire up front showed even a CB is easier to supply than Hojlund. It means his position is in as big a state of emergency as GK and everywhere else.

I could see his career trajectory being similar to somebody like Kaspar Dolberg. Ajax, Nice, Sevilla, Anderlecht. Teams like that.

He should really go on loan with an obligation to buy. I don’t think he has a future at United. Maguire has more attacking instincts that Hojlund.

He is the type or signing i hope the club realise they've made a mistake and try to sell as soon as possible and not just give him Infinite opportunities because he is young and our other options are just as bad.

People saying Mag had more attacking instinct than Hojlund. For me, its his lack of aggression. You need to fight and get before the defenders can react to score goals. He fails to do that.
You need to compete for balls in the air , win atleast some and then create a chance out of that. He rarely does that.
When a cross comes in, you need to again make the run, be aggressive and make the right contact to score. He fails there.

So once we have a proper striker, it will create more space for attackers behind him, leading to more chance.

I know all this has been discussed to death numerous times.. still

It’s so tiring to watch the same tirade from you every match

Time to move him on if we can. I thought there was a player in there somewhere but he's just very average.

It's not as tiring as seeing the same tired old excuses being made for rubbish players like Hojlund. It's as irritating as listening to someone talk about ghosts, because the excuses are based on nothing more than made up nonsense

Good. Get all that anger out.

I don't think we should give up on Rasmus but I am completely astonished that we spent so much money on him. It is a huge mystery.
Watching Endrick yesterday and he can't get game time and we're dealing with Hojlund.

Agreed, he's done well with his touches, and great bit of dribble in the box. But higher quality player would make bigger presence maybe?

As Roy Keane said if things aren’t going your way get stuck in, fowl people, throw your weight around.

Hojlund is starting to remind me of a 22 year still been breast fed.

He actually shies away from the ball, often. He ducks when he should be rising for a header when the ball is punted up to the halfway line, gifting the defender a header he doesn't even need to jump to make. He gets his body out of the way if it looks like the defender might get the better of him. He's so physically not there it's unreal.

I wouldn't doubt it

Interesting take.
Yes, because the players refuse to provide service for Hojlund but for some reason give Maguire chances. We need more servants before we think about replacing Hojlund! xG is rubbish apart from when it shows that Hojlund has great conversion rate.

We've seen how amazing Hojlund is at running channels and he scored so many goals at Atalanta but Amorim has forced him to play differently and Garnacho took his shooting boots, free Hojlund!

Hopefully we can move him on in the summer, we should really have tried to move him on last summer when he still had a decent valuation.
