Breakout season for Højlund. I expect him to score 7 PL goals.

This guy has single-handedly ruined my love for football.

He is that shite.

We finished 8th and 15th in the two seasons he started as our main striker, and our fortunes will not change until he is booted far away from our club.

It's truly unbelievable that we're so close to the season with this guy still within a shout of starting games for this club.

Zirkzee will be leading the line this season instead if him. He's getting worse and I genuinely feel he wouldn't even cope in the championship.

Turned on the match yesterday afternoon and literally the first thing I see is this numb nuts backing into a defender and then falling over. I muttered “oh for fecks sake” to myself and turned it off.

Just get rid please.

He’s left footed

Yeah one of the more notable sights was him backing into a defender, the ball is played up to him and he can lay it off for a teammate but he hits the deck trying to get a foul

I dont understand when people tell me hes strong. Yes of course CBs tend to be the strongest position but most of the time either the defender is stronger when hes in a physical contest, or hes able to resist and stay on his feet but then he forgets the ball and another player sweeps in to take it from him

Will say the same thing that many of us said during his first and his second season. His goal total is a long way down the list of concerns that we should have with him, his technical floor for basic parts of a strikers game has to rise significantly for him to have a chance of turning his career around at Utd. Unless he is scoring at Haaland levels there is no route to him being an elite striker with the first touch he has shown at Utd, you simply can't play at this level if the ball is bouncing yards off you multiple times a game.

After that movement, trying to get to understand how to get into dangerous areas consistently, then his aerial game, for his size he is inept in the air. He also has to work on resilience and body language, too often he shows the opposition and his own team a complete lack of confidence and belief.

Rasmus is strong, but you have to know how to use your body in these duels. It is about football iq, anticipation, timing, balance.
Amad is half his size and still looks stronger in 50/50 duels.
I hope that these are things that can be coached to Rasmus. But i am not holding my breath.

The worst striker I've ever seen play for Manchester United.

There's people who'll watch him and turn their nose up at Nicolas Jackson.

He needs to go back to Italy. Would probably do ok there because his physical attributes would allow him to shine in a league with a slower pace. Don't think he's gonna make it in the premiere league.

He’s a problem now isn’t he

Yep, if we sign a proper striker then I personally wouldn't want him as second choice, but you can't not play a player who cost as much as he did long term. And the thought of us not signing a striker and giving him another go just doesn't bare thinking about.

He just needs to go, and I'd be more than happy if it ends up as a loan deal.

One of the stranger disappointments I've seen in football. He has a lot of the traits that top strikers have pace, power, finishing... but his overall lack of footballing IQ prevents him from using those attributes effectively and is severely hindering him as a player, and that aspect just doesn't seem to be getting any better with experience in his part. And that is so, so frustrating.

Hope we get rid of him as soon as possible.

20+ goals in all competitions. You can quote me on that.

Now that he has Cunha and Mbeumo behind him, with Dorgu and Amad providing from the wings, he'll kickstart his career*.

*I don't believe this, but its my coping mechanism.

He surely cant have a season like last. No one can.

We should probably be focusing on improving him, and to a lesser extent Zirkzee as priority, since we are stuck with them as our striking options.

Hojlund is the only one of the two who's a real striker, so he should probably be the main focus. I'm not sure where we would start but probably with the absolute basics of teaching him how to receive a ball under pressure and how to head a football. I actually think that if he could do these things even to a basic level, he would improve enough to secure double figures.

I hope everyone is right about him improving this year given the new attacking midfielders we have bought. If not we could see a lot of young Obi this season

I don't see how other individuals will lead him to somehow magically improve his own individual attributes which are making him crap.

If we wish to develop him, he needs to go on loan. He cannot develop in this pressurised environment. For whatever reason he had prolonged grace in the media but even the media has started to run out of excuses and opened their eyes about him.

He needs a break from here to develop without scrutiny, at other clubs he can have poor games without it being all over the Internet immediately and scrutinised on MNF and other shows.

Hoping that finally with an actual decent supporting cast he might kick on. He makes decent runs, just never seems to be found. What I’ve never understood with him is for a left footer why he always seems to drift left or to the left side of goal. I’d feel far more confident shooting off the right side opening up the goal. He must really back himself shooting across his body. I think I’d find that way harder.

Feel like he also just needs to calm down in a lot of situations. It’s like he is trying too hard to be perfect and it’s just destroying him. Just take some shots and see what happens, get the confidence back up.

We’ve seen in flashes over his time here that he has abilities as a striker but in reality it was too big of an ask too soon.

I'm looking forward to what he can do this season with some service. He has such high upside with his pace, power and finishing.

The service will give him confidence. I'm very happy he's finally getting a real chance as a striker here.

Urgently need a replacement, he does nothing
He would have had a chance to do something if his teammates could stop overhitting their passes when he has been clear on goal a couple of times.

I think he can turn it around. Time to believe yet again...

He had some decent moments but the two shots he had basically highlight his deficiencies.

It seems harsh being critical of the first as he did well initially, but there’s no natural coordination or improvisation to his shooting.

It’s off balance, or snatching at the ball. It’s a bit like a chance dropping to a centre back.

Incredibly brutal. Please spare us another season with him starting games.

He also did his usually of fecking up multiple touches, not reading when players are looking for him to be a wall to do a give and go, not making the correct movements, playing poor passes in the final third and poor finishing when he got his chances.

He's just not good. Stop blaming the teammates for his failures, he's just far off the level that his teammates are.

Unbelievable how shit he is. Gets the ball, makes awful pass, gets the ball back inside penalty area with enough time to aim and shoot and.....he doesn't even hit a target.
And fan part is; that was his best move in 70 minutes.

In lot of the scenarios, the blame is usually in equal parts. Weirdly in terms of Hojlund, its pointed at as all his fault. Thats what I don’t like about the criticism that he gets. I also don’t want him to lead the line for United, but sometimes when I see the type of criticism he gets, I kinda wish he start the whole season just see some of these United fans’ blood boil.
