Rasmus Hojlund - Linked to Inter on loan

It’ll be siphoned out the club to benefit a select few people mafia-style

All Italy’s big clubs are blatantly crooked as feck
inter have american owners like many PL clubs....so shove that stereotype

I've read about the alleged interest of Real Madrid. I wouldn't be surprised though. I always said that in a better team (with a better coach...) Hojlund could score 15 goals a season in a top league. (I might be wrong, af course). And as a substitute player Hojlund could be a good choice for Xabi Alonso. Yet, i don't think this deal will get through as in Italy Hojlund could get more playtime.

I was of the same opinion a year ago.. unfortunately this looks less likely now. He went from 9 league goals at Atalanta, to 10 league goals his first season here and now 4 goals. He is way below the level I expected when got him, and hasn’t really progressed at anything.

I am not convinced a loan to Real or Inter is useful for him. He’d get very limited minutes behind the starters at these clubs (Lautaro & Thuram or Mbappé & Vini ). It’s better for him to find an easier situation that could help rebuild his confidence.

Even if the owners were italian, how would you pocket the transfer money in a club that nearly defaulted?
In 2021 Inter was in the red for more than 200 millions €, without selling Lukaku and Hakimi Inter would have posted similar results in 2022.

You can't spend the money you don't have, it's just that simple.
Also the owners are american because the previous owner couldn't repay the bond so that's that too.

This guy averages 1.4-1.5 shots per 90. He's never going to be a regular goalscorer.

Anyone else see that Madrid is interested?
I think he gets less game time in madrid. Inter would want to sign Hojlund( they probably want a loan with an option rather than obligation)and sell off Thuram/Lautaro if Hojlund is a success. At madrid he would just make up numbers.

My problem with Hojlund is that he is stopping us improving both defensively and attacking.

Defensively, in training our defenders are facing the easiest forward they probably ever face, so getting touch tight and winning the ball is easy, then when matchday comes, they come against a competent CB and they lose the duels

Atacking, Hojlund almost all the time ruins the attack, his first touch is always something that needs to be chased down, his passing is poor so we are caught on the transition.

Our defence or midfield cannot pass to him because they know, if it goes to him it has to be 100% accurate then he has a slim chance of keeping it. This has an effect on runners, no one is willing to run behind a St who will never get the ball to you, because you will be out of position defensively.

I agree, with a slight caveat.

There is a quality player in there and by his mid-20s I think he'll be one of the best in Europe. However it's not working here at the moment - too much scrutiny, pressure, not enough support (he should be learning under a Ruud type).

I'd loan him to Inter for a season, let him get his mojo back, then bring him back next summer when we're hopefully back in Europe and need the squad depth.
This is incredible....do you actually think that? With his mentality and lack of quality in almost every department? I'd say his touch is the worst part of his game but then you can look at his aerial duals....there's nothing there.

I don't understand how United fans can rate this guy given both his output and the rich history of elite strikers since Cantona. Is it the age? So you see potential? Or the transfer fee paid so you expect results?

Just admit it was a mistake bringing him in and move on.....he's had two seasons at the first choice 9....he's not magically going to become Berbatov because he all of a sudden gets service and confidence. The excuses are insane, he's just not up to it.

Pie in the sky nonsense.

How the feck will we ever win the league again if our business plan is to persist with such limited players, in the hope they magically transform into quality players thanks to their team mates providing some advice

Do people not learn anything? One of our biggest failings has been to keep hold of shit players for way too long. Thank feck our new CEO has spoken about being ruthless
These must be fans post Rooney surely? But then they have watched old Zlatan and Ronaldo who 35+ are vastly superior players to 22 year old Hoijlund so I'm not sure what people are seeing here? He couldn't even control the ball with no pressure in those recent friendlies but apparently theres a player in there somewhere' who just needs confidence, a senior striker and service.

Or, you could use your own puzzlement to try and figure out why others disagree with you on something you find glaringly obvious. Instead, you create a straw man by claiming they for some weird reason make excuses for him. I’ve said it a thousand times before: explanations and excuses are not the same thing.

Let me ask you a question then. All scouts have seen Hojlund play this season. They’ve watched how he has regressed. Still, the biggest clubs in Italy are interested in him and maybe even Real Madrid. If he is as bad a player as you say, why is that?

I see limited value it would bring us loaning him out with an option.

We should look for a straight sell or loan with an OBLIGATION to buy (without an option to come out of it).

If we don’t get in any striker then he should stay and continue his fight hopefully in a more attacking tram

The last alternative, if we sign a striker and we are not able to sell him then we loan him out to a team where he can play all games and be under less pressure. Then we can reevaluate his situation next year

Feels like this may happen.

I would not be surprised if he went to Serie A and looked decent again. The way he plays the game feels more suited to that league.

Love dealing with Italian clubs.

I'll look forward to their offer of a 2 season loan covering 20% of his wages with an option to buy for 15m.

Still think there's a great player there and hopes he proves it wherever he goes.

Surely we must have learn the silly lesson?
That would still be more than what I expect of Inter to be honest, normally they would hem and haw for a free loan and for us to subsidise part of the player’s salary.

Out of all the players United want to get rid of (Sancho, Rashford, Antony etc) I'd be happy to just let Rasmus go out on loan. The others need to feck off!

Let Zirkzee be the back-up CF for another season and see what Hojlund does away from Old Trafford. Then next summer make a final call on them both.

*This is assuming United buy a new CF to be the no.1 this summer.
