Agreed. If he is wrong about HIS contract then he is complete plonker.

Yeah hugely disagree. At his age he should be playing somewhere else learning his trade there. If we have gyo barring injury he's getting 90 percent of the games. Sub spot prob goes to zirkzee, then chido can be learning as the true youngster. Hojlund with like 10 appearances doesn't do shit for anyoneDisagree. We get in Gyokeres or similar and Hojlund stays then that shouldnt be an issue. It will take the pressure that should never been on him in the first place, to lead the attack. Also he needs a experienced striker to learn from. He's still very young for a striker.
Dutch passport. Enough for ETH
This would be the best outcome. What's his current book value? If a player signs a 5YR deal with a 1YR option, do we amortise over 5YRs or 6YRs?
Assume worst case 5YRs, his book value is about £42m...so a loan and a buy in the next summer window, by which point his book value would be £27m, would allow us to do this in a PSR-friendly way
They're obviously not going to agree to that. Maybe half that fee and an option instead of obligation.
He's not worth more than £20m.
He has done next to nothing in football that would make him worth more than £20m. We were foolish enough to pay £72m on the back of a few cameo appearances at Atalanta, no one else will be that dumb.He actually is worth substantially more than 20M. Just because it is not working out here does not change the fact that he is only 22 and until this most recent season was seen as one of the most promising young strikers in world football, at a time when there is a dearth of strikers available. We won't get back the full price we paid at this point but his value will not have fallen that far in just one season either. There will be plenty of teams and coaches who will believe that last season was an anomaly and they can get him back on track, it is not exactly unusual for players to flourish when they leave United and regardless of the reasons there will be an assumption that it is the club and not the player that failed last season.
He was very highly rated coming off that season in Atalanta, he was 19 when he went there and managed 10 goals in limited appearances as a backup which was enough to have multiple clubs chasing him including us and PSG. At 20 years old he joined United and scored 16 goals in a team that was not functioning well and was tagged as one of the untouchable stars of our future and was still spoken of as one of the brightest talents around. 12 months later he is coming off a terrible season but even then he still has managed 10 goals and there are mitigating circumstances if you want to look for them, pre season missed through injury, change of coaches 3 months into the season etc. I am not arguing that his stock has fallen as a result of the last year but the fees young players move for, he is worth more than 20M and frankly if he isn't then he might as well stay and see out the next 3 years of his contract because that does nothing for us.He has done next to nothing in football that would make him worth more than £20m. We were foolish enough to pay £72m on the back of a few cameo appearances at Atalanta, no one else will be that dumb.
He's basically had a run of 10 decent games at United + a few decent cameos at Atalanta, plus that one game against Finland. He's lacking fundamentals to become a top striker.

If the alternative is keeping him, why would that be the “only” way we should handle this?the only way you send him on loan is with an obligation to buy and no return penalty like hte deal we did with chelsea
obligation to buy at 40m
well if you plan on keeping him then you don't loan him out but if Amorim doesn't seem him as a future player then loan him out if you can't sell him outright and make it an obligation to purchaseIf the alternative is keeping him, why would that be the “only” way we should handle this
A loan with an obligation is still a transfer - it’s just moving the purchase by 12 months.well if you plan on keeping him then you don't loan him out but if Amorim doesn't seem him as a future player then loan him out if you can't sell him outright and make it an obligation to purchase
Well, I think he said he still sees himself being at Old Trafford at the end of the Summer. I wouldn't read to much into that. Not much else he could say with nothing sorted yet.Worth mentioning Hojlund did an interview in Denmark at the weekend and he said he's going nowhere.
Yes we would be, however Rashford seems like such a difficult deal due to his mental wages at Utd. I wouldn't be against keeping Hojlund IF it didn't affect signing Gyokeres, GK and CM but certain it will.Yeah this is a massive point that I feel people are disregarding. We complain that players like Lindelof massively outstayed their welcome in this team, yet we’re afraid to be ruthless when we need to be.
Also… I’m no PSR expert, but if, and it’s a big if, we can offload both Garnacho and Rashford this summer for let’s say £70m combined, then aren’t we in a pretty sweet position PSR-wise?
We would need a pretty hefty fee on Hojlund, otherwise it would hamper our PSR position, rather than help us.Yeah this is a massive point that I feel people are disregarding. If you can get 45, one way or another, I think you've gotta take it. You say he won't be rated lower, and that's likely to be true, but he could do an ACL or something like that.Just a loan deal thanks - no obligation and certainly no option to buy. He won’t be rated lower than he is now and I think he will score goals in a weaker league. Keep our options open and retain control.
He might not have much choice but Athletic saying Hojlund wants to stay and prove himself. It's not a surprising outcome given that he's a boyhood fan of the club

Its not up to him. He needs to go. End ofWorth mentioning Hojlund did an interview in Denmark at the weekend and he said he's going nowhere.
I am pretty sure you can't force a player to move its not the NBA (even not certain it could happen there) or pre Bossman era football. So it kinda is, up to him.Its not up to him. He needs to go. End of
