If it's a real obligation to buy the money will come, it's as definitive as a straight transfer (unless you include some clause that allow Napoli to get out of it like you did with Sancho). Napoli are the ones taking the real risk here and they're taking a huge risk because there's obviously no guarantee he's going to come good and they could be forced to buy him for €44M next summer even if he flops.
If the quality for CL yes.

A shame how it ended for him here. Not his fault... I think the lack of support from his spoiled team mates killed his chance of making here. Hopefully he will have a good career still. Did we get a buy back clause?

If he turns it around and becomes world class maybe we'll see him again.

Wish him well.

All the best, Rasmus, you were not a cnut. Sorry that your dream didn't come to full fruition. Would love to see you again in a United shirt, under different circumstances.

Good move for him getting service off De Bruyne and Scotty and he's got Lukaku to mentor him, hope he does well.

There is no factual evidence to support this feeling.
Clearly Napoli are willing to bet €50m euro on that. And they have shown infinitely better judgement in the transfer market than us. Funny, that.

They are not betting that though are they. they only pay that if they are successful, the terms of the deal heavily favour them.

Well let's say they are betting up to €50m on it, and I doubt our negotiators would have accepted that said conditions are that he wins the Balon d'or. Speculation that it's CL quali, which is nigh on inevitable for them.

If that's. the level we are calling a mistake to let go, then we really are screwed
as a 20 yr old thrown into the deep end, yes. Its so weird posters here almost treat Hojlund as a 25-26 year old striker who was fully expected to lead the line for United by himself.

Good luck Rasmus
Won't forget that goal scoring run you had after the drought.
Shame it didn't work out.

One of the few lads that I didn't want to see leave.

I would have thought a season long loan would have been better.

Nonetheless, the money is actually very good and we recoup alot of the original fee we paid.

Seing how cnuts like Sancho, Garnacho, Antony disrespecting the Club it’s very refreshing how Rasmus behaves. What a guy, what a professional. All the best mate!!

He has behaved exactly as the players should do. No fuss, you know it has not worked out for you at the current club so keep your mouth shut, fingers off twatter, prick-tok & whatever else shyte comes along every five minutes and just be fecking normal.

Hope he does well in Italy.

Been a huge critic but he handled himself really well. I hope he becomes a success

Very difficult for him to become a top striker. Seria A might be a good choice for him with the slow football played there. It was a mistake to buy him and i hope he never comes back.

Think he'll do well there and good luck to him. Couldnt have joined us at a worse time.

His CL performance for us in 23/24 and that nice scoring run around February 2024 were the reasons I thought he could turn into top striker for us. Then came 24/25 and he looked worse than in debut season. He's 22 and Serie A is still better environment for him. Will be interesting to see how good he'll be in few years when he's around 25,26. Napoli is a top side and McTominay is already having his best days there so hopefully Hojlund does too.
