Rasmus Hojlund | Napoli

Glad it’s worked out of him.

Shame he’s not on the bench today instead of Zirkzee, Bruno would have broken the record

15 goals in all competitions, 11 in the league. Not bad all things considered. Still think he’ll become very good.

Pleased for the lad, he gave it his all when he played, I don’t think we played to his strengths at all and he’d had been good this season rotating with Sesko.

rasmus. hoejlund: This goal felt symbolic because it means two things. We now secured Champions League with Napoli, which means because of my contract I'm now officially a Napoli player and I'm saying goodbye to Manchester United. That feels weird, because for the past year | already feel like a Napoli player. The way you fans supported me, made me feel like home and let me find my confidence again is something I'm so grateful for. To say goodbye to Manchester United is something that kinda feels emotional too. My childhood dream came true by playing at Old Trafford in a red jersey. So the goal today symbolizes a new confident start, in which I will give everything for the time ahead to Napoli, and a thank you to all the fans, players and staff of Manchester United who made the dream I had as a kid come true. It's time for new dreams, so let's chase them.

Wish him all the best, some great moments.

Assuming this is real, fair play to him. The move here was way, way too much too soon and it crushed him in the end, but he got to live out his childhood dream, which is not something most people get to do.

I have no idea what his level will be; it’ll be somewhat interesting to see how he turns out.

Yeah, it's real. I saw it on his Instagram too. Good luck to him. I liked him and thought he showed some glimpses in his first season as a 20-year old playing in a new team and a new country which was worth persisting.

We probably would have been better served by keeping him around rather than Zirkzee but Zirkzee was never going to fetch us 40m odd so it is what it is.

Looking at the top scorers in Serie A and it's a pretty goal shy league, but Hojlund did alright with his 10, and McTominay with 9. 19 goals from entirely former Utd lads is a decent return. Reckon Conte should go in for Garnacho on loan and complete the set, cos champions then second place isn't bad for his ex United set.

Best of luck to him continuing at Napoli. Hope he can become a title winning striker over there playing with McNeopolitanSauce and De Bruyne

According to Transfermarkt Højlund has been involved in 31 % of Napoli's Serie A goals. I think this deal is good for everyone involved. Let's see where he is in a few years.

Seems a nice lad, always gave 100%, when it was clear he wasn't wanted here he accepted it and moved, looks like we're getting a good amount of money for him.

And now he posts a nice farewell message. Wish him all the best in his career. He'll get a good reaction if we play Napoli next season.

Good on him. Not cut out for United, but I hope he does well there as their official player.

Scored the only goal yesterday. I don’t think his tweet is hinting at him coming back here, but the possibility that Napoli may try to move him on if a new coach doesn’t want him. Seems unlikely though.

Napoli spent €50 million on him — he was supposed to be Lukaku’s successor — so I really don’t think the club wants to get rid of him, and I think they’ll make that clear to the new manager. As for what he said yesterday, I watched the interview live and honestly I think he just worded it badly and felt awkward because of all the questions about Conte.

I like we moved him quickly, no drama, decent return on the sell. He was never EPL quality, you could see in the first games he is a very limited footballer, and yet still expect him to do much better in the next seasons.

He gave his all and loved the club, but just didn't have the level. Both he and the club will be better off for this, and it's a very good deal. Great to have it confirmed, and it's a sizable chunk of cash for the transfer budget. I don' think we could have realistically gotten a better solution to this situation after how his second season went.

He scored a great goal against West Ham at OT from that alone I convinced myself he was gonna be great, 2nd season marginalised from poor form on his part and general shit play under Amorim good luck to him.

11 goals is actually a decent return in that league in the top 10 scorers for the season
