Rasmus Hojlund | Napoli

All the best to him. He tried his best but wasn't up to it here. No shame in that, and the best thing we did is moving him on quickly rather than dragging things along

All the best to Rasmus. He is a true United fan and tried his best. I hope he does great at Napoli and get a glow up the way Mctominay did. I think he is a better player than most people here think of

True. Ultimately Sekso is a massive upgrade on him, but we really let down Rasmus when he came here. A young guy, new to the league and we played him up front with no service, and every other forward player preferring to cut in rather than try to play him in. He showed glimpses of quality but ultimately lost confidence and stopped playing the sort of football we signed him for.

I'm glad he's found a new home.

Seems a nice lad, just wasn't good enough really. Though he had some decent moments in his first season.

Seems a good lad so pleased for him and us. Never at our level but glad we managed to recoup some of that outlay

Pretty much what I was going to say. Another victim of Amorims shit system but ultimately not good enough either.

Our fourth highest sale ever no less.

Finally Dan James has been knocked out of the top five!

We are so terrible at selling (but getting better I think?)

Mad how a few years ago they were probably worth 160- 200 million and now Elliot Anderson is worth 120. Just off the wall stuff really, nobody could predict it. Feels like Martial, Rashford Sancho all kind of jinxed each other because on paper at one point that was a really top notch forward line. For none of them to make it here...

I suppose Saka and Palmer may be the next big English players to be stuck on huge wages and be misfiring or have fitness issues. I think it mostly just shows how crazy the finances in football are now. Nobody is a sure thing and the money is ridiculous for players who've only really had 1 or 2 really good seasons.

Wish him nothing but the best. And McT is there. Safe to say, Napoli has become the Serie A team I now cheer to win the league (sort of started with the Osihmen/Kvara season if I'm honest).

Don't suppose anyone knows where Marcus Rashford ranks in Man Utd appearances, goals and assists?

Can't seem to find it anywhere.

If he had no service, why was he scoring regularly in the champions league and Europa league?

The service myth needs to die. Half the time, he was busy wrestling with defenders rather than getting into position.

I think he will have a good career, and would not surprise me if he gets another prem move.

He wasn’t good enough, but we also threw a very inexperienced player to the wolves. He should never have been our only striker.

Despite his insistence on losing wrestling matches with defenders, he was a trier and a seemingly a good egg. Hope he has a good career post-United.

Covid ball with Greenwood, Martial and Rashford had me convinced that our forward line had been sorted out.

Because it's easier to score in those comps? Gordon, Barnes, Martinelli, Havertz...it's just easier for teams to score in these comps. That doesn't mean these players did or did not get service, it simply means there were easier games on average most likely.

No middle ground ?
Same dudes were saying hes alright, he's one of our best players ever, when he was walking around stinking the place out left right and centre around his one good season for ETH. Nobody could say he was on the decline or he wasn't trying hard enough without stats being thrown in your face. Look where he is now and the same lads still pulling out the stats. Middle ground sure. Not a failure but a failure relative to our investment and certain fans emotional investment. You'd swear it was Rooney they were on about.
