RAWK Goes Into Lockdown 25/26 Shieldless Edition - £500m down the drain, the champions have dropped points again!

It's just embarrassing, a fat lad from Dublin talking shit about professional players who have been successful for them, when he hasn't kicked a ball himself. I dont even get that worked up for my local GAA team.

He's playing up to the camera, they all are. Becoming financially successful at commentating on football as a nobody takes some acting skills too undoubtedly.

Normal days on RAWK from a poster who's been there for almost 20 years. Posted at 2pm today.

They're [his fellow fans] continuing to make a caricature of the manager, who they have decided has lost the plot- or didn't have a plot all along.

And like usual- someone will be along shortly to say that- "No one is doing this or doing that.. they're just QUESTIONING WHY... blah blah blah"..
It's the usual justification and excuse for behaviour like that and similar.

When we turn things around there's gunna be a lot of egg on faces. In an ideal world, I'd like it to be more humiliating.. something like cum instead of egg, but you can't have all you wish for!
Multiple posters called him out for being a weirdo. To his credit, he apologised instantly and agreed it was over the top.

Only joking. He didn't do that.

Four hours later, Liverpool winning 2-0 against newly promoted Leeds, he saw his chance to gloat and doubled down.

Come on, motherfeckers!

Get your cum! Slot's jizzing everywhere and it's Christmas.

Twats!

Premature ejaculation.

Neville is a horrible c*nt
Nev must’ve been wumming them on comms
We are as weak as piss
Absolutely useless.

Slot had no easier run of games to turn this round and has got worse
Mentality midgets, change is needed, look weak all over the pitch and the mentality is pathetic.
Makes subs and no one seems to know where they are playing. How can we have 5 in midfield and Leeds are walking through us.
Waiting for the super fans to come on claiming throwing a lead away twice against relegation fodder is a sign of progress.
Weak, soft, spineless. Total cowards.
fecking useless twats.

Sack him.
Bottle jobs.

Konate is fecking shit. Hope we get rid of him in the window

Post match interview quotes

Quote
“I can’t believe it, I’m very disappointed. I’ve done so much for this club — everyone can see that over the years, especially last season. Sitting on the bench, I don’t know why. I feel like the club is throwing me under the bus. That’s how I feel,” says Salah.

“I’ve said many times before that I have a good relationship with the manager, and suddenly we have no relationship — I don’t know why,” he continues.

The Egyptian is clear that he needs more playing time going forward.

“It’s not acceptable for me, to be honest. I don’t know why it always happens to me. ‘We’re throwing Mo under the bus,’ because he’s the problem. I don’t think I’m the problem,” he says about being dropped.

Liverpool’s next Premier League match is at home against Brighton. After that, Salah will travel to Africa to play in the Africa Cup of Nations for Egypt.

“I called my mother yesterday, you didn’t know that I wasn’t going to start today — I knew that. I said come to the Brighton game, it doesn’t matter if I play or not, I’ll enjoy it. We’ll see what happens; in my mind I’m going to enjoy it anyway, because I don’t know what will happen regardless. The match will be at Anfield, so it will be my farewell before I leave for AFCON,” says Salah.
Salah has just done an interview after the game in the mixed zone:

https://xcancel.com/i/status/1997407114529034569

Says he thinks the club has thrown him under the bus, promises have been broken and he has no relationship with Slot.
He's gone for the sack him or I'm off play, interesting to see how it plays out. He's not as powerful as he would have been years ago given his age and recent performances.

Depressing all round mind, we're a mess.
I wonder what Carra will say now.
Cheers Mo, just what we need right now.

He is supposed to be a leader as well. Crazy.
So he's gone full Cristiano Ronaldo then. Wonderful.
Holy shit just watched it
This is a mess. We must stop the rot, ASAP.
This has got to be AI
:lmao
it doesn't even sound like him and the accent is all over the place.
Delusion…
Oooft, if those quotes are real then things are gonna get nasty you’d imagine.

Shame for it to end this way.
Why the feck did we give him a new contract then if he was going to be one of the first to be thrown under the bus if we encountered a difficult situation?
Grok is saying it appears to be AI and it looks like its been deleted as well. Genuinely stunned people have fallen for it.

It's real, it was shown live on Norwegian TV.

And it hasn't been deleted - https://xcancel.com/i/status/1997407114529034569

Thanks @Who's Kissing Cameras? for that. Gave me a good laugh.

This weekend I didn't watch any football because we had to take my dad to the hospital.

I just check the results from yesterday, and saw the Liverpool tied the game at the last minute after been 2 up and came streight to this thread

They're saying that the Salah interview has got to be AI?

Really?

Surely they can't be that brain-dead. How would a serious journo that's well connected publish it, and then for the likes of Sky Sports push it?

Re: Virgil Van Dijk (PL winning captain) after Leeds…

Quote from: PEG2
How many goals has he directly cost us this season? First one vs United. First one vs Chelsea. This one. Iirc he gave away a pen too. And remember the time he made a mistake himself but turned to Kerkez to blame?

And that's not counting the goals he indirectly cost us because of his nonchalant defending.

Konate is more glaring and recognisable because his mistakes are usually about losing duels or mistiming something. But VVD he's just not involved enough so less people would notice, plus he has his reputation. I'm starting to think maybe he's not any better than Konate this season.
yeah time to stop thinking then.
Needs to start playing with more energy and urgency. Would be nice if he stopped throwing his arms in the air and blaming others when he screws up.
we had a team of captains, proper mentality giants- now it seems all the responsibility falls on Virgil.
we still have a bunch of leaders.

Virgil van Dijk - Captain of the Netherlands
Andy Robertson - Captain of Scotland
Mohamed Salah - Captain of Egypt
Endo - Captain of Japan
Conor Bradley - Captain of Northern Ireland
Dominik Szoboszlai - Captain of Hungary
Ibrahima Konate - Captain of France
Alisson - Captain of Brazil

but none of them are vocal (at all) in the way Hendo and Millie were. maybe Virgil needs to let it rip a couple of times.
Konate France captain?
He can no longer get away with coasting in 2nd gear for 90% of games like a Rolls Royce. He's lost that little bit of pace and athleticism that are enough at this level the mistakes start adding up, yet he's still playing like he thinks he's 26 physically. Add to the general complacency and refusal to tackle he's starting to look ropey as feck.
6ft 4" tall, 19ft wide & he let that little twat put him off dominating HIS area, one of his worse games for us today.
The drop off from his peak has been considerable. He's struggled to get a hold of the team as a senior player and all he does is point and shout at others. I don't see him marshalling the defence in the same way Hendo did. He's having his worst season and appears to be unable to change anything.
We should not be keeping him past this summer. Not with the wages he is on and the level of performances he is putting in. He is old and way past his best. Cash in like we will on Salah and build a new team.
#VirgToSaudi
So Ibou and Virg both gone next summer, leaving us with Gomez and Leoni who wont be back for a year, so realistically we need to bring in 2 world class defenders and a back up? with a high chance that we don't have Champions League football, you still wont rid of Virg?
How many goals have we conceded this season while Virg has his arse facing the ball.
Take it in the face, the chest, right in the stones if you have to… throw yourself at it. But don’t turn like a woman with your hands behind your back. He’s given away more goals worried about handballs in the penalty area than he would have conceded.

Man up and throw yourself at the ball. Lead with the example of some fight, grit, determination.
Classy
Disappointed in his captaincy. Always shaking his head, complaining, etc.
Give the armband to Szoboszlai. A transfer from the #4 centerback to the #8 midfielder. From 2003 to 2025; Hyypia (#4) to Gerrard (#8). I'd argue that Hyypia had some of his best games for us afterwards. So will big Virg; he's not nearly finished, there is a lot more in him that he can give, but the burden of the captaincy is weighin on him, IMHO.
Take the armband off him…
You think a seasoned professional, captain of his country and one of the best ever in his position is underperforming because the captaincy is burdening him?
It makes me wonder sometimes what they do on the training ground - why hasn't he been told to stop backing off so much? Or has he been told and he's just ignoring it? It's infuriating now. And one of the first rules of defending is don't turn your back on the ball.

They've reopened the Salah thread, the civil war is fun:
My honest opinion on the quotes is he sounds like a whinging fecking baby. Poor 450k a week Mo. feck off.
‘feck off’ to the same ‘whinging fecking baby’ who gift wrapped and delivered us a league title

Team Mo:
People absolutely itching to side with a manager who’s picking and choosing scapegoats based on feck all at the expense of one of our most loyal servants in modern history. Honestly, absolutely abhorrent from Slot.
Rotation is fine, but just completely leaving him (Salah) out in the cold is odd (especially when others seem to get a free pass for their dogshit performances). I don’t like the manner of him airing dirty laundry, but he’s absolutely being scapegoated for our wretched tactics and haphazard approach to squad building.
We wouldn’t have won the title without him last season.
Personally think Salah's feelings here are justified. He's a Premier League all time great, and he's being made to look a fool.

For me in validates how I'm currently feeling about Slot. I think a lot of short term decisions were made last year, and rightfully so, but it doesn't look like the decisions made this year have built off of the success from last year and trust and confidence has eroded.

Pride comes before the fall.

Personally think Slot has massively gotten it wrong

When you ever wonder why players don’t do what’s best for a club you’ll all do well to remember how he’s being treated here now. An absolute disgrace.
Every one of our forwards is out of form, Salah is is still just one behind for goals and assists this season. We’re set up so poorly this season it’s impossible to know who is actually out of form and who is struggling with the system.
The way Salah is treated by our fans compared to any other of our top 5/10 players is just weird. Stinks to be honest. They are treated with a reverence. The guy has only ever wanted Liverpool to win and has demanded more from himself and those around him. Slot's clearly undeniably fecked him over this season and then thrown him under the bus on top of that. More than fine with him making these comments to be honest. Slot if he wants to stay at the club needs to look at his own tactics rather than constantly blaming the players.
Taking Mo out has hardly made us better. Scapegoat for many at 33. Far too many others underperforming yet Mo has been the one to be dropped.
Van Dijk has been dogshit and has got nowhere near the flak Salah has this season btw. So I don’t think he’s wrong in that he’s treated differently.
Salah is world class. Slots shite tactics and mis-management of this squad is what's causing underperformance from practically every player in the team.

Salah would walk into any team in the world. Literally any team. Yet Slot benches him 3 games in a row and refuses to even bring him at all today, despite not using all of his substitutions.

Ironically, Konate starts every fecking game despite being the least loyal player in the team, seeking a move to Madrid and playing like a donkey all season. Then there's Kerkez who looks like he's never kicked a ball prior to this season playing ahead of Robbo who hasnt put a foot wrong every game he's played this season.
Never treat a legend of the club with this much disrespect, he’s always given absolutely everything to the cause.

No player is bigger than the club, but neither is a manager and this one is on borrowed time.
One 3 minute clip isn't going to erase the 8 years of helping us win every trophy there is to win and becoming the biggest superstar we've had in a long time. It may be in poor taste but he'll remain one of the best we've ever had.
Salah has earned the right to not be shunted into the corner when things aren't going well because the manager is completely inept. He also has an ego which means he was never going to quietly accept the shit that Slot has pulled. That's who has been ever since he has been at us. He has been fecked over by the manager and then blamed for it. He has since gotten sick of it and said as much I've no issues with that at all. He challenged Klopp on the touchline, Slot thinking he could cut him and ignore him is just laughable.
The whole fecking team has been as bad as Salah, a lot have been worse. Are they getting ostracised in this way? Absolutely not. The club have clearly decided they’re going to force him out now and get that sweet oil money. Great move from the club to play Salah off against the unquestioning.
Indeed, Gakpo, Mac (I love Mac), Konate have all been worse but haven't been dropped, apart from Mac. It's managers playing favourites again, no matter form.

Mo has had to be playing with 5 different RBs, 2 new strikers, new LB and a system change with a #10. Slot not communicating with Mo since the Frankfurt match shows how bad he is in players management.

Team Slot:

One of the best players we've ever had. the This toy/pram stuff means that perhaps he's not one of the greatest.
This moment of departure comes to every player in the end, and my advice is always the same: mind the step down on the way out of Anfield.
We're on a desperate bad run of form and needed to change things. He doesn't work back, his goals have dried up, he's not beating his man. It was right to drop him. He's just got a massive ego and doesn't like sitting on the bench. He's not a team player. Szobs must have been talking about him in his interveiw, sounds like he's downed tools in training now aswell. He's supposed to be a leader. I wouldn't be surprised Mo is unhappy about the Isak signing, he knows that he was signed to replace him and thats probably upset him too. Its absolute garbage to bring all this out in the media when we desperately need leaders to turn this run of results around.
He knows what he is doing.

I think he is throwing a grenade before he leaves for Afcon, and is maybe hoping the manager isn’t there when he returns.
Strange he was praising Slot last year for giving him a pass on defending. Now he's been dropped he lays into him. Throw your toys out the pram much Mo?
He has learnt this from Isak
;D
Shocking from Mo. Just not good enough. We've seen flashes before with the spat with Klopp for daring to bring him on late and not start him?

It's been a week. A week. Two and a half games on the bench. After being dire all season.

He knows what he is doing with this timing too. Absolutely disgraceful and pisses me off because I wanted his goodbye to be special and positive.
I still don't get how he is being made a fool or treated unfairly. He's been shit and been benched. Get over it. Work harder.
He's been on the bench for a couple of games and is saying he doesn't need to bust a gut because he was great last year.

He can feck right off. Give a me someone who isn't as good and will die on the pitch for the club over that sort of character.
"I don't have to fight every day for my position because I earn it. I earned my position."

That's just crazy. The manager decides if you've earned it and decides if you are playing poorly and need to be dropped. When did players decide they could pick the team? That statement is just bizarre, from any player from any club.
I thought it was Liverpool football club, not Salah FC. I back the manager is picking the best 11 to win football games. If Salah wants to be a moaning tart, he knows where the door is.
Three games on the bench, one of which he came on as sub in isn't scapegoating really - unless Slot has said something to him implying he's not going to feature from here onwards, which would be a very stupid thing to do to a player with Salah's record (and one there's no evidence for). Chiesa must be looking on in bemusement, as he actually does have some grounds to say he's been unfairly treated based on his displays this year.
As it stands he's ended his career here.

He's done it by making a whining, self indulgent, 'I am bigger than the team' speech to the bloody press ... provoked by * checks notes * not playing for 3 games

Team Neither:
Both have to go. The manager for results and Mo for performances, age and weekly salary!
I'm starting to think that Slot's man management may not be the required standard. Mo shouldn't speak to the press like that, but it may indicate a deeper issue in the dressing room. Slot's treatment of some squad players has been poor.
If you put yourself in Mo's shoes for a moment, he's put up an all time great season to carry us to the league title and then feels scapegoated for our poor form this season, particularly when there are worse performing players who seem undroppable. It's not hard to understand his frustration.

That said, it's poor form to air dirty laundry in public and I didn't like the comment that he feels he shouldn't have to fight for his position - every player should have to continually earn their position, not expect it for evermore based on past achievements.
Both Salah and Slot need to look at themselves here. There is no smoke without fire, and if Slot really has no relationship with Salah, he needs to learn quickly. If he's losing the dressing room, he's not going to last. Likewise, Salah needs to shut the feck up. He's very good at speaking up when he needs something. Where was he a few weeks back to ask for calm, and collectiveness when we were on a five match losing streak.

Team Both:
I feel for Mo. I do think he’s been made the scapegoat. My ire is directed not so much at Slot as the hire ups. What were Hughes and Edwarda thinking? What is this squad planning? We renewed Mo’s contract while simultaneously trying to usher in a post-Salah team. If you have Salah, then use Salah. He hasn’t been at his best, but we’ve hardly played to his strengths. And nobody, bar a couple of players, have played well yet he’s the one who gets dropped. I don’t like the public comments, but I understand them. And he’s quite clearly hurt not just by being relegated to the bench but by the media treatment he’s received in general.
I feel that both Slot and the Salah have been put in a pretty difficult position and I really want some answers. The fish stinks from the top.

More on Mo

Paul Gorst

For 420 games Mohamed Salah's polite declining of requests to stop and talk after Liverpool games has become a running joke with those in the media who he regularly sees at Anfield.
It's become a routine that he has only deviated from three times before Saturday night, when I asked him to stop and speak after he was an unused substitute in the 3-3 draw at Leeds United.

Salah had previously only spoken when he reached 40 goals in his first season, in 2018, when he won the Champions League in 2019 and when he told myself and a couple of other colleagues that he was "more out than in" a little over 12 months ago at Southampton over his unsigned contract.

So when he told me he'd be back in a moment at Elland Road, it was clear he had something he wanted to get off his chest. I don't think any of us were prepared for what followed though over a seven-and-a-half minute chat that leaves supporters with a million and one questions.
Salah didn't just rock the boat, he guided it stern first towards an enormous iceberg and it seems as though it was a message to the club itself: It's Mo Salah or Arne Slot.

Team Mo:
3 minutes doesn't erase all the trophies, all the memories, the 30 goal a season average, the chief reason player wise for why we went from doubters to believers.
I think the club have probably been trying to sell him behind his back which is what led to the outburst. He doesn’t deserve to be starting based on performances (he’s not the only one mind), but staying on the bench and not being brought on I think was sending a message to him. And I don’t for a second doubt Slot’s man management might be a bit shit given the things he’s said about Chiesa or other players.
I think its massively naive if people think backroom and squad discontent is isolated to just Salah.
The thing is reading his words it’s pretty clear he wants to stay and wants the manager to leave
If he wanted to leave he’d have just told the club
Timely outburst. Completely taken over another gutless performance yesterday.
Not an excuse for him to go public, but this storm is masking another display that was disappointing. I watched the match, some who said we’re improving are seeing the bar too low, we have very little intensity and penetrations, still the same passing around.
Looks to me like salah is disappointed the club didn't come out and defend him against the media blaming him for the teams bad run of form and I think he's right. The club stayed silent while the media put him down. Slot coming out saying salah was angry at being benched didn't help either. Slot should have kept that private.

If the club won't defend him then he has little option but to defend himself from the criticism he was receiving.
Slot is just out of his depth. He's dropped Salah for one game because he didn't know what else to do and Salah has kicked off, challenged his authority and now it's turned into this.
Disgraceful treatment of one of our greatest ever players.
Sorry to all the 'you must always back the manager' people but if one of them has to stay, even so late in his Liverpool career, I hope it's Mo.
Sell to Saudi at the end of the season. Money will still be on the table for him. Another manager will probably get more out of him than Slot has been able to this season. Which will help us finish in the top 5, and who knows, maybe compete in Europe or the cup.

This brand of football isn't exciting nor is it going to click into place, let's just be honest about it. I'll always be thankful to Slot for last season but the truest protagonist of the entire success was Salah.

Team Slot:
Contrast the attitude of 2 greats: Salah and Robertson.
One has been benched often, in favour of a younger and as yer somewhat misfiring direct replacement. And yet has been nothing but a model pro. Both on the pitch and in the media.

The other - who is not a "greater" player purely by virtue of a different role in the team, think he is entitled to be treated differently to his team mates purely because of his past performances.
We're not Man United his behavior was Ronaldo like. That's not acceptable here.
We've been very Man United all season.
No player has a birthright to a shirt at this - or actually any other - club

‘I don’t have to fight for my place’ is disqualifying as a member of the squad.
Thats proper meltdown.
It seems Mo has lost it, no idea whose idea was it to do the interview and say whatever he said. I get it! You are fit, and want to play every game but come on, this is unrepairable now!

I had real laugh when I read the stuff regarding Haaland, Kane and the wild dig at Carra. I mean, feck! Thats he who fannies about and dives around-esque.
The thing is, if he is going public with this now, imagine what he's been doing in the dressing room, on the training ground and in player groups.
We now live in the world where fans put players before the club they actually support. No wonder football is so crazy now.
Salah has thrown his manager, teammates and the club under the bus. This is him forcing his way out in January by making it impossible to keep him. Burning his bridges. There won't be any apology because no one would believe it. I doubt he will play for Liverpool again. A tragic end to his time here. I thought the way Henderson left was bad but this is something else. I fecking hate football and the toxic people who poison it.
You broke my heart
Just incomprehensibly sad. I’ve already stated that I have empathy with Mo and his frustration (which seems to be bigger than just Slot and lack of playing time), but the moment he decided to slag the club off in public, his fate was sealed and he has no one but himself to blame. It’s not the kind of conduct you expect from a Liverpool player and especially a Liverpool legend. Utterly heartbreaking.
Salah's just announced he is on the The One Show on Wednesday and Graham Norton on Friday to discuss how badly he been been treated and how he has been thrown under the bus.
He thinks he has played well this season and well earned his 6.8 million since August. He is on Graham Norton with Tom Hanks, Meryl Steep and Alan Carr.
Salah wants to be regarded as The Star of the show and sit next to Norton.

He has asked for tickets for his Mum and Dad because it might be his last time on British TV before he moves to Saudi in January..

Team Neither:
Regardless of what you think about Slot and the management, this is a fight that Salah must not win.
Oh well, hes allowed to make a mistake, this outburst does little to change my overall opinion of him, he shouldn’t have done it but he’s still a great player and by most accounts not a bad bloke, we move on.
Salah is well out of order for speaking publicly, he’s entitled to be disgruntled as he isn’t playing, and let’s be honest, aside from Szobo and Hugo, every single
One of them has been completely shite all season, the manager too, absolute dross. This runs much deeper than just Salah though, it’s obvious the players don’t have much idea what they are supposed to be doing out there, I’m sure that’s why is so fecking bad, there’s no way we’ve got a shit squad, lob sided, yes, but definitely not shit.

We haven’t improved a jot in months, we’re playing absolutely terrible teams like Leeds and West Ham and people actually believe we’ve been decent, that’s staggering, we’ve been terrible in most games, for 90 minutes. I don’t believe the players believe in Slot or what he’s trying to do.
Salah probably leaves and Slot probably leaves not that long after the way its going.
I think the owners will probably step in. Terribly sad.
I think any discussion about who is right or wrong is moot. As soon as Salah said what he said in the way and where he said it, he was done at Liverpool. No matter how great a playeror how frustrating it is being benched as soon as you make it you versus the rest, he has has to go. Whatever happens with Slot and the rest of the players in the future is incidental. The club cannot kowtow to the whims of a player no matter how important he is. Otherwise the club will be creating hostages to fortune.
Does feel like making a scape goat. He shouldn't said what he did, seemed like a last toss of the coin for him to see if the club will back him or Slot. This mess the team is in definitely has backroom issues going on and not just with Salah.

Slot is walking on thin ice, I personally dont think his right for the job the club should quickly work out an interim solution.
I’m not sure Salah or Slot should or will survive this.
In a single day it has gone with these fans from Salah has a point against Slot, to Salah is being forced out by the club who want a yes man in charge, and they are doing a character assassination on Salah with the dropping and the response today. It's fecking stupid bollocks but frankly I fear a good portion of our current fans are fecking stupid
