Both clubs (City and Pool) are turning this season into something special, something we haven't witnessed before. Yes, we've had Utd and Arsenal fighting top spot before, we've had Utd and City too, Utd and Chelsea in a 2 horse race, but this season City and us are taking this to a whole different level.

At the end of this remarkable season, BOTH clubs will be seen as massive winners, whoever pips the other to the title. There are no losers this time round, even if we win and City don't. The sheer number of points between us, the fact that neither team have hardly lost any games, the leaders interchanging every week, this is looking like the start of something new. A new dynasty, a new 2 horse race era, between the 2 best teams the PL has ever seen. Pep and Klopp were doing this in Germany many years ago, and now they've brought it to the PL, and taken it to a whole new level.

They are two titans in sport, on the start of a new rivalry, who have mutual respect for each other - like Federer v Nadal, Ali v Frazier, McEnroe v Borg, Palmer v Nicklaus, etc.

Couple this with City's other trophies they'll likely bag, Liverpool in another successive CL semi final (we still may even win it), and both teams are becoming untouchable to the rest of the PL, who can only look on and watch in envy.

This time round there are only winners, no losers, whoever pips the other by one point.
Winning two titles in a row doesn't make city one of the best teams the PL has ever seen.

I love the way that they talk about teams rolling over for them, when they've had some outrageous roll overs all season.
Keepers and defenders chucking them in late doors, likes of Huddersfield not even lasting 1min!
Like Rafa Benitez sending out a reserve team against them in December. Wtf was that about. I can understand resting players in March/April due to fixtures but come on. The fecker was practically smiling about it pre-match too.

It look's to most like what it is. You have a club that has been financially doped to the top & a club that has had the most lucky breaks ever in a PL season. The lucky breaks have allowed you to keep pace & have skewed your vision of the league. Next season City will dope some more & VAR will also come into force. You will likely finish 2nd next season but you will be scrambling for a top 4 place rather than challenging for the league.

Calling yourselves the 2 best teams of the PL era is really silly. It's especially so as Liverpool haven't even won a PL title & City have bought theirs. Winning 13 out of 20 titles & numerous other cups along the way is taking things to a new level. Neither Liverpool or City have brought anything to the PL era that will be remembered.

I'm sure Pep was thinking how much he admired Klopp & Liverpool when his bus was being bricked on it's way into Anfield. I expect Klopp & Liverpool to kick up a real fuss with the PL when you lose the league. There will be complaints about oil money, officiating, fixture lists & everything else you can think of.

No it doesn't, but we now have more points in the three seasons since Pep came (and of course more points in the last two seasons), than any club in history (with 6 points still to play for) - if we win the league this season, that has to put us in the mix for the conversation

How many times are people gonna bring up luck here? It is as if you don’t understand that high pulse = more errors. And if you don’t understand that, you don’t understand football. Liverpool are the team that plays with the highest intensity. There’s is nothing random with the fact that opponents consistently feck up against us.

Just look at Liverpool’s opening goal against Huddersfield; for some it’s Liverpool’s luck that Huddersfield mess up, but for most its evident that the mistake came as a result of Liverpool’s intelligent and well-planned pressing.

You create your own luck.

You'll never be in the mix, your success doesn't count.

Right. It’s time now. The 6th May is a bank holiday. You are all available. We show these manc c*nts how much we want it. Yes if they win a standard game against leicester we’ll be ridiculed by the press and by Man Utd and man city fans in unison but who cares. We line the streets and stop that from being a normal game. We beat Newcastle and this is all we can do. If you support liverpool and you’re in the north west. Get to etihad on the 6th May. They’ve shown us how they react before. It’s up to us

As a team, yes, you'll be up there. As a club, no, sorry.

I was mostly trying to wind the scouser up by disregarding liverpool completely. :D

The Brendan Signal has gone out. Some encouraging words from RAWK for the (Bat)man himself:
RAWK said:
It’s now over to you Brendan! This is the dream scenario I was hoping for. I would love Brendan to be part of a Liverpool title win.
Always suspected you were sleeping with Rodgers given how much you like him.
He got out of my car, and into my dreams, but he has never - I repeat, never - been in my bed.
It feels almost like destiny, Rodgers righting the 13/14 loss to City by cock-blocking them to a win.
Come on Brendan lad, you have unfinished business with us!

You can't enter the conversation. There is no substance to any of your achievements. If you were to be given any credence then where would it end. The world of sport is littered with shameful characters who have broken the rules to gain an unfair advantage. You are part of this group. Don't take many Red's hatred of Liverpool as an acceptance of City. You are both horrible clubs who are a stain on the game.

I admit i don't have the stats. I would be very surprised though if you are not deemed to be the luckiest team at the end of the season. You will obviously score more goals by pressurizing opponents that's a given. What about the keeper mistakes, dodgy penalties, etc etc. This can't all be down to how you play surely.

The statement I was responding to is
Winning two titles in a row doesn't make city one of the best teams the PL has ever seen.

You and other reds may well think we are a stain on the game but if you don't think that in the years to come, should we win the league this year (which of course is not a given), the game as a whole (media, fans in general, players, etc) will discuss this city team in the context of discussions about the best teams the PL has ever seen, then you are simply mistaken

It actually does, if you think about it.

More to the post you've quoted, you don't hit 97 points in a season without being an exceptional team. Playing hypotheticals, who would you say is the better team? This Liverpool side, or the title winning Leicester side?
