Couldn't understand him scrambling around looking for some place to hide the badge either, only to hide it in his pillow like a child.
I've moved onto Paulie, he seems like more of cuddler.
This show is ultimate “dad tv”. We are all just vicariously living through Reacher, daydreaming of walking into a room and people shatting their pants at the mere sight of us. Then there is the ability to quickly and simply solve all problems with a burst of egregious violence, with no real world repercussions. Plus the ability to answer the door almost exclusively in your underwear and 90% of the time it’s a hot French maid or milf cop, who gets an immediate bout of the fanny flutters.
In terms of plot, logic, pacing, acting, direction or point, this show objectively becomes more terrible with each passing episode; but the Reacher underwear, violence, brooding, and manliness factors are trending increasingly off the charts. And that’s all that matters here. This season gave us Paulie, a true behemoth for our ultra alpha manly man meat beefcake hero to slay. Next season they’ll have to do a Marvel crossover to introduce an evil Hulk running guns and knocking off old members of the 110 special investigators unit. I assume that would ultimately culminate in the only logical conclusion to this series in the form of a rain drenched underwear wrestling match at night, with flames in the background, between TVs manliest man ever, and a raged out evil Bruce Banner clone.

They've toned down Paulie a hell of a lot in the series over the books.
In the books, Beck's wife is alive and Paulie is raping her on the regular. The big fight between Reacher/Paulie starts when Reacher interrupts Paulie making Beck's son have sex his mum while he watches

I agree they can't show that, but this hatred between them just feels a bit flat, with no real reason behind it other than male bravado.
You’ve got a point, although I buy that reacher wouldn’t like him due to his first impression of him being rude, plus what he learned along the way about him cutting off the kids ear, generally being a bully and then killing the maid. What you described in the book though would certainly add a new dimension to it!

I don’t really know what reacher would’ve done, even if Richard only caught him talking to Duffy in the alley - he’d still have to explain why he snuck off to meet a cop in an alley, but I guess seeing the guy reacher killed let him put it together right there.
Also the more we see, the less sense it makes for reacher to do what he does and have the audience on his side. How many innocent people has he gotten indirectly killed in the pursuit of one girl?

Thought this season started off well but it's now becoming a bore. The latest episode was completely pointless with an obvious twist to conclude it.
How good season 1 was and how terrible it is now. Really disappointed.
Season 1 was ok, season 2 sucked, season 3 started ok but has sucked again.
Overall it's a shite, low-quality, low-effort show.
Also Reacher can't act for shit. His vibe kinda worked in season one but as the seasons go on and he continues to be so one dimensional it's really hard to be invested in a main character like that.

Three quarters of that last episode was them going to LA to blackmail some guy to set up a gun sale with Beck so that Nealey could take his place (and not buy anything anyway) and find out where Quinn was going to be doing his business. It was dumb as feck even by this shows standards. The telegraphed "twist" at the end was the cherry on top and rendered the whole thing even more pointless.

The season's been a massive let down - and it feels like there's been even less of the things which made it "watchable" - i.e. action. So, there's been more dialogue which has just exposed Ritchson's acting even more.
About 3-4 proper meaningless episodes where nothing much happened, in an 8-episode season.

It's been pretty crap. Only 1 episode left. So there is that.
I really enjoy these books and have read them all, but the book Reacher has a certain charisma written into the character and the enemies are usually well-fleshed out by the time the final clash happens and the story is fully revealed.
This version of Reacher is boring and the stories are monotonous and dry. Entire episodes that make you look at your watch and wish they were over.

I think the woman playing the Fed in this season might be the worst actor of all time.
She doesn't do a Boston accent half bad for a Brit.
I don’t think the actor is the problem, the character is. All the characters in it are poorly written.
Think Ritchson (this series) best her. “Wooden” would be a compliment

The movies were better. Cruise was half the size but twice as interesting . They really let us down with this show. I watch it because I don’t have to think. That’s it. It could have been so much better but will get ratings and keep the same format.
The problem is the supporting cast are all so one-dimensional and boring. They don’t add anything to the show and their scenes are usually a slog. Is Neagley really getting a spin off? Who the hell’s gonna watch that. She’s bad enough as a backup character.

I also really liked the Cruise Reacher films. I just kept that opinion to myself cos he's short.
absolutely. It was almost taboo to like Cruise as Reacher due to his physical shortcomings alone! Fortunately I’d never really even heard of the books before the movies, let alone read them, so had very little issue with his casting.Very Un-Reacher like to have him ride off on a motorcycle
Think I’ll have to re-watch it all in one go to fully appreciate it, but I love Reacher as a character and waited about 15 years for a proper series about him so I quite enjoyed it.

Been a while since I’ve read this book but I remember the bit near the end (sea), being A LOT more touch and go.
I enjoyed that fight scene.

To be honest I thought season 3 was a big disappointment. As much as I love Reacher as a character, the show peaked in season 1. I’ll still watch season 4 but I thought the supporting characters in this season were really underwhelming. Season 2 wasn’t the best either but the villains were way better. Quinn was lined up to be really evil but really didn’t get enough time. There was a lot of faffing about this season and I didn’t feel the connection between Reacher and the cooperating characters that I felt in season 1. Roscoe and Finley had so much more chemistry with him.
Hopefully they’ll get some better characters and actors in for season 4.
