For anyone who wants a blast from the past, BBC4 is showing Boys From The Blackstuff from next Wednesday.

A great Alan Bleasdale series and depicts how grim the 80s were, especially for some areas/cities.

Watched it about a year ago with a mate. Honestly, the portrayal of Yosser's mental breakdown is just as powerful now as it was all those years ago. Timeless drama.

So when does The Expanse git gud? I'm only on episode 2 but it's feeling very soap opera in space at the min. That British woman can't act to save her life so hope she's not in it for long.

I knew you wouldn’t like it that much.

Peaks in season two imo, and it’s… fine in season two.

She’s a main character for the entire run and she’s always shit.

If you're not invested by the end of episode 4, you may as well bin it off.

I'm in the same boat, I've heard so many good things about it so I'm trying to get into it, but it's taken me 4 days to watch 2 episodes and I just can't carry on. Flying to the US tomorrow so might watch another few episodes on the plane

Just finished Billy The Kid, only 3 seasons and doesn’t follow all the ‘facts’ but I really liked it. Thought it was a well acted and scripted show.

Going to see what other Western series there are, tried Deadwood a long time ago, might be time to try again.

Just to state. Each is grand.

Heaven from Belfast.

Problem with that is it's not worth 8 episodes. 6 would have been better.

On the Welsh drama, seemed decent enough all round.

Neither is spectacular but given the dross you have to navigate through each is watchable.
I though 8 episodes was about right for Heaven from ....

I will certainly watch S2

I completely binged it, so maybe my own fatigue played a part?

Anyway, I did enjoy it. It just seemed more a one season thing despite the ending. I dunno, I'll give it a watch too I guess when it comes around.

We watched it 1 or 2 episides a night over a week or so. So not a full binge. Not top notch but plenty good enough to watch s2

Just watched the first episode of Marshalls (spin off with Kayce Dutton from Yellowstone).

I’m not saying his other stuff was highbrow exactly but the scripts were ok (varying degrees) and the violence felt real-ish and appropriate. Marshalls is really basic … not Steven Seagal basic, but probably Jason Statham.

Will give another couple of episodes a go when they come out but looking forward to Dutton Ranch and hopefully they don’t butcher that too.

Have only watched 1 episode of Yellowstone and thought it was ok, when they start spewing out this many spin offs they usually aren’t very good.

First season is more like a detective show in space as far as I remember. Season 2 onwards melds sci fi and politics. Didn't like season 1 too much but season 2 onwards is great sci fi.

Does The Chair Compant get better? Episode 1 wasn't funny but it was cringy and annoying.

Yellowstone absolutely nosedives in the final season so I wouldn't waste your time.

I did warn you

It is but it’s a very specific niche. Not for everyone.
I though it might be something that you got into as you went, like The Office (UK version) but he just got more annoying and stressful as he escalated his bizzare behaviour.

My wife is going to give me shit about choosing this for some time now :)

Tim Robinson himself is a very acquired taste. At least it was for me anyway. When I first saw I Think You Should Leave it didn’t really click with me and now I love it.
