Television Recommend me a TV Show (more TV reviews now)

Nah, it went on too long but its first few seasons are great and you can stop after 4 or 5 or whatever. But at least you then get a good idea of the family which helps with 1883, 1923 and the upcoming Beth/Rip spinoff.
She’d divorce me if I made her watch all those.

We’re watching The Chi, at the minute, that’s more our style. Can’t remember who recommended it to me on here, maybe Wibble. Really enjoying it so far.

Don’t watch with her… and enjoy the Beth trough/bath scene.

Yellowstone is a great series.

This is like recommending a book to someone and recommending they simply stop reading 2/3 of the way through.

Anyone watched S2 of Paradise yet?

On my list but not got around to it yet… can remember bits about plot and it being decent. Wondered if S2 as good.
I've had the new episode of Season 2 on my watchlist for ages but I just can't get started.

Separately, started off this limited series DTF St. Louis, with Jason Bateman and David Harbour (the fellow from Stranger Things). Decent start to an interesting quirky show.

We are just about to watch episode 8 of S1. The weird thing is we know we have watched the whole thing before but remember so little about it we have had to watch it all again, and it only came out a year ago. And we are enjoying it which makes it even odder.

I probably should have done that but I went straight into S2 (watched first two episodes)

After watching S2 E1, I had to go back to S1 E8 anyway to remind myself of how it ended… clearly forgotten

I started watching 'Peaky Blinders' for the first time last week.

I've finished the first series, which was excellent.

Thirteen years late is pretty good going for me, I was watching 'Alfred Hitchcock Presents' prior to this.

Paradise, finished season 1.
James Marsden was fantastic as was Sterling Brown.
Haven’t started season 2 yet but I doubt it’ll be as good unfortunately.

That episode 7 was one of my favourite TV episodes.

No disrespect, but how the feck can medieval intrigue, dragons, beheadings, gratuitous nudity, incest, more beheadings, and people getting their eyes melted by fire not be somebody’s fecking thing.

I'm all for gratuitous nudity and stepmum porn, just so you know.

Three episodes in, probably not as good but still decent (and might improve now they’ve set out some plot lines). Really liked first episode…

Ted is fecking funny.

Absolutely! Loving this new series.

Much better than the recent Family Guy anyway. I can't bear it anymore. It's like the jokes are written by boomer. I get the feeling they deep down want it to get cancelled so they can stop doing it.

Been watching the Night Manager s2.

I like the bit of a Narcos feeling to this one, including some familiar faces from that series but the storyline, or rather the dialog, gets a bit confusing at times. One thing that annoys me is the acting of Camila Morrone. Its very wooden and unnatural. It gives me Sydney Sweeney vibes, and not in a good way. I'll finish it - but I also hope S3 that's allegedly being made, goes back to the quality of S1 a bit more.

Anyone watched Young Sherlock? Any reviews?
I've watched it but I'm not really sure how to describe it. The pacing and exposition are uneven and and it's not until the 5th/6th episode that you feel comfortable with its direction. Until then you don't know the good guys from the bad. There's a lot more action than I expected. If you're a Holmes purist you may have trouble accepting some of the ideas presented. However, I did plow through it and don't regret it. It's flawed, kinda chaotic, but still enjoyable if you get past those issues and accept the narrative. YMMV

I've given up on Paradise after 5 episodes. The constant flashbacks disrupt the flow of any coherent storyline that is supposed to be taking place at the present time.

Wondering the same.

I finally ended up watching the show. It has its moments, but overall the season wasn't top notch. Character development was not very clear and felt like things were just thrown in together to make the show.

By the end of the season, I felt
the show should have been called Young Moriarty. His character development seems to be the focus rather than Sherlock.

I though 8 episodes was about right for Heaven from ....

I will certainly watch S2
Finished this tonight. At half the episodes (4 instead of 8) it probably would have been better, but likely could have been told in one 2-hour movie. Turned into a shaggy dog story, then flip flopped between tones and visual style like they changed their minds halfway through and started making a different show, babes.

Hard pass if there’s a season 2.

It didn't strike me as something that would work for an American audience and probably works better the closer someone's collection to Northern Ireland/Derry. It wasn't the best thing I've ever watched, and not a patch on Derry Girls (which was meant to be a very different show of course) with the plot being almost superfluous to the characters and not entirely believable at times, but 4 episodes or a movie wouldn't have worked at all for me.

I'd watch season 2 but not going to be hanging out for it.

I'm very eagerly awaiting ep6 but I like post apocalyptic stuff so I'm probably easy to please with this program.
