Are they just making up the story as they go along? Certainly felt that way in season 2
TJ English wrote an excellent book about them (called The Westies). Can get it dirt cheap secondhand. Highly recommended. They were proper bloodthirsty psychopaths.
I'm onto episode 3 now and I'm ashamed to admit that I'm enjoying it. Considering how seriously it takes itself, the storylines are stupidly unrealistic, but it's an entertaining 'brain-off' drama with plenty of twists. Reminds of Night Agent in the sense that it requires some suspension of disbelief as you watch the righteous protagnoist flee the law, but it's a fun ride nonetheless.
Widow's Bay is really good. Stephen King-type of set up on an island of the east coast. Horror elements and funny moments that work as normal reactions to events, not a spoof or satire.

Lucky on Apple TV has started really well. Anya Taylor Joy as the lead.

The Westies is playing fast and loose with the truth. I think they should have stuck with what actually happened, as it was absolutely mental and an exciting story, but this isn't as bad as the trailers made me think initially.

Was wondering about this. Seemed up my alley but put it on the backburner once I saw reviews weren't great.
It's a bit daft in places. Just pretend you don't know anything about the real gang and it passes for a half decent crime romp.
Two very good series. Little Drummer Girl and The Agency. Both very watchable. Definitely worth a try.
Watched Somebody Somewhere over the last few weeks. Really good. Probably not for everyone, but certainly my type of show. Kinda like Shrinking but not as terrible.
Been watching The Hawk, and for any fans of the old skool Ferrell stuff (Anchorman/Taladega/Blades/Semi Pro), it feels like a bit of a throwback. First funny thing he has done in probably over a decade. He should stick to doing sports related comedies.
Yeah, it’s definitely watchable. Though…I’d watch Anya Taylor-Joy and Timothy Olyphant build an IKEA furniture set.
I watched the first episode and don’t think I’ll watch anymore. The dialogue and storytelling was crap, in my opinion.
Watching a show called The Serpent on Netflix. It came out in 2021 but It just popped up on my recommendations list on Netflix. Really enjoying it so far, its based on a real time story about a man called Charles Sobraj, who was murdering hippies in the 70's in Thailand.
I saw it at the time. It was decent.
Finally finished Silicon Valley and Raised By Wolves. Silicon Valley nailed the final episode, which isn't very common in TV shows. Enjoyed it very much. Mike Judge is extremely talented.
And it's a pity that Raised By Wolves won't be getting a third series. It was getting very interesting.

Yeah we binged the show in few days even though it was utter trash. A bit like kimchi, terrible but can't stop eating it.

I suspended my disbelief for the first two episodes, as it wasn't truly awful, but it's getting more and more difficult. People doing things that don't make sense.
It's such a pity, because a true-to-life retelling of the Westies' story, with the great cast they have here, could have been epic.
It's not quite Netflix's Guinness levels of shite, but it started off dipping its toes in the sewage, and now it's wading in knee deep. I don't have high hopes for the rest of the series, but I'm probably going to watch it.

Finished Paradise season 2.
Decent, if a slight downgrade on season 1. The story has taken an unexpected direction that already feels a bit tired these days.
On the plus side, the creator had 3 seasons in mind from the get-go and the story all mapped out, so I'm looking forward to the conclusion.

It's very good, probably a tier or two below the other two but well worth the watch. Have you watched Snowfall? Genuinely think it competes with The Wire.
I haven't, I'll line that one up next.

You recommended me the book the other day didn't you? Maybe it's me going in completely blind and not knowing anything about them makes the show more palatable but I'm enjoying it so far. Think i'll watch the series 1st then give the book a go if it's going to ruin the show for me but it's very watchable and the cast is very good so far anyway.
I think that's the right way to go.
It's good but a distant third to those two.
Just started watching Furious on Disney+. It's a crime thriller about a female serial killer and the female FBI agent who is hunting her. It's very much about abuse and violence against women and girls, and very post-Epstein. I'm only two episodes in but I'm already very invested - there's a bit more to it than your average crime thriller and leads Emmy Rossum and Lola Petticrew are great.

I’ve never watched a show where I wanted so many of the main characters to die… preferably brutally killed by the monsters in the show. They’re so stupid, so unlikeable.

Doing that would mean the writers would have had to progress the story and in From that doesn't happen. Genuinely think you could watch season 1 and then the latest season and you wouldn't have missed much between them. I'm only sticking with it to out of pure stubbornness to see what BS ending they give, fully expecting it to be like some form of purgatory but even that you could have guessed from season 1.
On to good TV finally got round to some recommended shows in here, watched Legends and it was decent. Stupidly started Mare of Eastown thinking that is was Mayor of Kingstown and not upset I watched was a really good show. Started Mayor of Kingstown this week and it's class so far, don't know if I like/dislike Sheridan using the same actors in every show but it's started great.
Finished The Hawk on Netflix. Good laugh.
Sigh… trudge on it is then.
Seen all those three and all good … you know what you’re getting with a Sheridan show, did think S1 of MOK was a lot bette than rest.
