Gaming Resident Evil 9: Requiem

Are leon and Jill back again? Aren't they canonically in their 50s now?
Pretty ageist of you to suggest they can't hold a gun. Look at some of the people who manage to post on here!

Looks great. Is RE4 any good. Looking for something to play.

Looks interesting. Grace is the daughter from a game I never played (RE outbreak) so any character references went over my head.

I never played the original but the remake is up there with the most fun games I've played in the last few years.

RE2 Remake is also brilliant.

I haven't played the 8th one (Village), is it any good?

Haven't played any of the originals myself. Will give 4 a go.

Yeah Village is a good game with a couple of very memorable moments / Areas

I’m hoping one day they go back to doing the two playable characters concept in the vain of RE2 (A and B scenarios etc).

I’m guessing this time next year they’ll be showing us RE5 Remake.

Interesting design choice with the two characters, I wonder if they can make it work. Looking forward to it.

I’m sure it will be fine but overall it didn’t look amazing tbh. The Leon section reminded me of Dead Rising.

Takeaway the remakes I’ve only really enjoyed the first half of RE7(Mostly because it’s
Texas Chainsaw Massacre)

God, Leon is so fecking cool. They are going to kill him off, aren't they :(

I've only played the first 3 games. Would I need to have played the rest to properly enjoy this?

I would happily play them but some are unavailable on Switch...

The last one I played was the original Resident Evil 4. They are up to 9 now?

God, I'm old.

I noticed they've actually got the originals up on PS store, which is pretty cool.
May play through Nemesis again.

Playing it again reinforced my opinion that the omission of the clock tower in remake was just a crazy decision.

I have still yet to play the remake but , by all accounts , it looks half arsed.

Thanks. I wanted to play the remakes. But some on the switch are the "online versions" which I'm not gonna get.
Haven’t played the online versions but I can’t imagine they run well(My old PS4 pro struggled to run both 7 & 8).

Have you played the original RE4 ?

Takes some time to get used to due to the fact it’s from 2005(Only worth playing if you have a pro controller)but it’s a surprisingly silly game. Leon gives off big Nick Cage vibes.

Nah I only played the original 1-3 (and watched my brother play Code Veronica).

I wanna play 4 but the remake would make more sense. Would love to play as Nic Cage!

Yeah that’s fair enough. The remake has far great controls and probably overall the better game. But imo the tone is very different.

Remake = Prestige tv/HBO drama series.

Original = Mid 90’s action movie directed by John Woo.

I prefer the original because it’s kind of mad. A horror game full of gore and occult imagery but the protagonist is one of the dumbest cool guys of all time.

Can’t be bothered creating a new thread. But lots of noise about Code Veronica being remade for next year.

That'll be cool. Had quite the fondness for CV.
Me too. I think it’s a slightly divisive title these days because RE4 changed everything and made it look a bit old, but I played it on the Dreamcast when it came out and thought it was incredible.
